Race 1 - Masterofthebaroque (1/1) is having his peak run after relocating to the Eastern Cape. Window To My Soul (15/4) hasn't run for six months but was beaten under a length twice over this trip and 100m further on the Greyville polytrack. Stable comments suggest that he has had enough work to be competitive. Monkey's Wedding (4/1) been costly to follow, blinkers back on. Capranica (17/2) wasn't disgraced on local debut and could be the value here. E/W Bet. Interesting to see stable jockey Marco van Rensburg take the ride on Straight Red (17/1)
Boxed SW/EX 1x3x4
Race 4 - Sweet Julia (8/1) finished behind Detailed Forecast (31/20) earlier, but was returning from a long break. Two wins, three runner-up finishes and a fifth from 6 runs over C&D. Much fitter now, nice e/w bet. Kings Again (19/2) not stable elect on riding arrangements. Has won and only missed a stake cheque once out of 6 runs over C&D. Runs well for Charles Ndlovu 17/10 for a top 3 place.
Race 8 - Blue Palace (11/1) - Fly jumped last run. Beaten narrowly twice before that over this C&D.

Kenilworth Wednesday, some really competitive races on this card but tricky, will chance my arm with these.
Race 1 A few raced runners with form and reasonably positive stable comments from yards regarding a couple of debutants. An each way chance is taken on Roman Beauty at 20/1, debut form gives her a shout if you excuse 2 subsequent runs.
Race 5 Star World at 9/2. Has a bit to find with Cliffscape on last run but was drawn 8/8 and returning from a break that day. Lots of winners from previous formlines.
Race 6 Black Cheetah at 8/1, 85 day break to contend with but 2nd run since gelding and has the form to be involved if race ready
Race 7 Absolutely Yes at 7/2, competitive race, many with chances and draw could have been kinder but excellent comeback run when just denied on line and extra distance should suit
Race 8 Clark Griswold at 11/2, lightly raced 4yo with 2 course wins over shorter. Step up could unlock further improvement. Drawn badly but a player with luck in running.

Kenilworth no easy card today. Plenty of first timers and competitive races after that. Best would be to watch the first timers and betting for those who can tune in to the broadcast.
Race 1 - Peach Cobbler (7/2) back over 1000, had excuses last few runs. Aldo Domeyer takes the ride. Massive respect for Viridian Ruby (22/10) who has already found betting support today and also on debut when third behind World Of Secrets. Watch the betting closer to the race as the Bass yard has a line of form through Onthewingsofadove. There is money for another Bass runner, the first timer Burnout from 40/1 to 20/1. Senorita Lolita (9/1) another who drops back to 1000m. 21/20 for a top 4 place not bad as well.
Race 2 - First timers Ulez Camera (30/1) and Daley Park (33/1) got some positive comments from their trainers and could be massive value for quartet players. No bet for me in this race.
Race 3 - All the talk is for Rain in France (27/20), half brother to Grade 1 winner Rain In Holland and Brothers In Arms (33/10), half brother to former Met Runner Up, Rascallion. Fourth Of July (5/1) ran a very good second on debut despite being slow into stride and looks the best of the raced runners to me. Drawn wide though. Saratoga Sunrise (33/10) formline of last run hasn't held up well. 5l behind Bachata on debut.
Race 4 - Fractal (9/2) enjoyed the step up in trip and should do so again. Captain's Angel (22/10) brings solid form behind From The Island and Hero's Journey into the race. Ignore last run in the Langerman. A few others with chances, another open race.
Race 5 - All is Green (12/1 from 16/1) was bumped outwards and then stumbled afterwards after clipping the heels of Blue Lagoon last time out. Jockey Arries has won on him before. 13/10 for a top 4 place covers the win bet.
Race 6 - With Chris, Black Cheetah the value at 8/1 currently. Pomp It Up (4/1) two wins over 1200m from 3 runs. Last run when unplaced over this distance was in a Grade 3.
SW and EX 2X4
Race 7 - Witch Hazel (11/10) step up in trip should suit. Formlines are super strong. Think he is still a few pounds under his true ability.
Race 8 - Ignite The Fire (8/1) peak run after a rest and beaten stronger before. Ceasar's Ransom (10/1) returns from a 71 day rest and has a length to find on Captains Alliance (4/1). In form jockey, Keegan de Melo takes the ride.

Not been following horses of late due to family commitments but got some gaps coming up and been listening to daily preview and recap videos from gallop/racing today to get a bit back into swing of things.
looks a nice card in the cape today.

Vaal on Thursday, nothing to shout home about, 1 from the top, 1 from the middle and 1 from the bottom prices might be a bit dated.
Race 4 Skitt Smiling at around 9/10. With a fancied rival scratched this looks an ideal opportunity to open the win account after two encouraging runs.
Race 7 After Hours at 4/1. Now 9yo but holding form well. Placed last 2 runs, repeat would see him involved here.
Race 8 Unsolved Riddle, each way nibble at 16/1. Something to find with a few of these but generally consistent and only 1 point above last winning mark.

Vaal Thursday an interesting card. Spies yard sends out four runners which were all backed in the last two weeks.
Race 1 - Clairwood Breeze (8/10) Early value gone. Going over the 2400m in only his third start. Epidaurus (18/10) is a consistent earner, but battling maiden.
Race 2 - Thorn Bird (6/10) doesn't have to be extra special to win this. Exacta with Autograph (14/1).
Race 3 - Royal Rant (14/1) - Bred to go this distance and further. Magner yard in good form of late. Jockey Kyle Strydom also red hot after winning the last 3 races at Fairview on Monday. E/W bet. Northern European (5/2) received betting support last time against Jack's Legacy, trying the trip for the first time today.
Race 4 - Skitt Smiling (9/10) should get it right here. Not much between her and Campo Formio (9/2). Campo Formio disappointed since, when backed and finishing a distant 5th.
Race 6 - Trompe L'Oeil (14/10) received late betting support when a narrow second behind Sakura Hanami on the 1st of August. He jumped awkwardly that day and would have won easily had it not been for the bad start. Only concern is that he was penalised 4 points for that run.

Nice each way with Royal Rant and win with Trompe Jacques
First of two meets on Friday, Fairview, now on the poly switched from turf and scratchings caused a real headache.
Race 3 Rhydian at around 3/1. Hit the post in first 2 of 4 starts since relocating, disappointing since but was drawn 12/12 last time out and gate 3 today. (think kt will remember this one, we both thought he was destined for big things on juvenile form), last chance for me and Rhydian on Friday
Race 4 Star In Motion at 5/1. has run in stronger races in WCP and things haven’t gone in his way in 3 runs on this surface
Race 7 Bakwena at 7/1. Something to find with Epikleros on previous run but that was first run in ECP and on poly and the extra distance today a plus.

Race 5 Clickbait at 4/1 Punted last time when dropped to this grade and ran second, should go well off the same mark.
Race 6 Kalahari Roller at 5/1 Reported to have stumbled last time, back on poly and definite claims
Race 8 Oklahoma Girl at 9/2. MR continues to drop, has been taking on stronger.

Fairview Friday
Race 1 - Silver Arrow (16/10) Strong formline, two winners from two runners on the debut run.
Race 3 - Agree with Chris, Rhydian (5/2) beaten short head over C&D by Kleinzee earlier.
Race 4 - Ready For The Road (23/20) brings strong Cape form to the race. Not much between Sliver of Sunshine (9/2), Silent Trigger (4/1), Run The World (13/1) and Pardon Me (18/1). Run The World (13/1) could be the e/w value should Ready For The Road not take to the poly.
Race 5 - Zinovi unbackable at 1/3. Weighted to win this with ease. Lanciafamme top 2 places 18/10.
Race 6 - Golden Palm (6/10) returning from a rest. The class in the race. Better value backing Exceedingly Glam for a top 3 place @19/20
Race 7 - Enchanting Choice (34/10) and Epikleros (4/1) best weighted by far here. Homing Pigeon (15/2) up in class but ran a good third behind Anotherdanceforme in the East Cape Oaks over this distance earlier this year. 14/10 for a top 3 place. Think we will get a better place price closer to race time.
Race 8 - Glenalmond (33/20) also brings strong Cape form to the race but drawn wide first run on the polytrack. E/W bet on Alado's Pride (20/1) who meets a few on favorable terms here.

Race 1 - Cartel Queen (8/1) better runs have been on the polytrack. Ran a good second behind Smart Choice over C&D two runs back. Carries only 51.5 kgs here with apprentice Louw, who also rode her in that run behind Smart Choice.
Race 2 - Mustang Highway (17/10) has the advantage of having run on the polytrack before. Danny Atlas (22/10) finished infront of Mustang Highway on debut. Tries poly for the first time. Good second run when having the promising Deonarie just half a length in front of him. Nautical Fire (13/2) held by Mustang Highway and subsequently had excuses in his last start when bumped at the start. Keegan de Melo takes the ride. Include in swingers.
Race 3 - Anything But Love (25/10) improved last run. Formline of that race also not the worst. De Melo rides. That's A Gimme (7/4) drifted in the betting when 4th in only run on poly.
Race 4 - Omkhulu Boss (26/10) tries poly for the first time. Beat highly rated horses like Steamy Windows and Sparrow Man in his last run when winning his maiden.
Race 7 - Sundance Kid (17/2) has a positive weight swing with Please Be True and also finished a short head behind Isivivane over C&D at the start of the year. 2nd run after a rest the concern. E/W

Race 5 Superhero at 4/1, career best needed to win this but sill unexposed going up in trip so could be up to the task
Race 6 Miss Attitude at 7/2, may have needed latest run from wide gate and jumps from No 1 today, big player
Race 8 Flying Finlay at 9/2, 2 wins and 2 seconds in last 4 runs, will strip fitter for latest from wide draw at Durbanville.
Race 9 Williams Women at 6/1. A touch disappointing when backed last time. Rating continues to drop and down in class today

race 8 - Inside Voice @ 16/1 ew. taken up to KZN for features but didn’t quite pan out, couple excuses and was racing there off a long break. I feel stable must rate her and back at a more suitable track I’m hoping for a bounce back to form.

Race 5 - April Fools Day (18/1 e/w) Step up in trip should suit. Did beat Gold Gold Baby when shedding maiden tag.
Race 7 - Winter Pirate (4/1) beat Tag and Release, ran 2l behind Richman's World and 3.5l behind World Series as a two year old. De Melo been booting the winners home. Big chance if fit after a 4 month rest.

Race 1 Calla Lagoon at 18/10, import, first run in SA bumps some local improvers but could prove too strong if fit and ready
Race 4 Go For Broke at 18/10, steady debut when backed and will have come on for the experience
Race 5 Set To Music at 33/20, dropped in trip and won easily last time. Up in the ratings for that but useful claimer on board eases the burden, well drawn.
Race 6 Malshana Mou at 3/1, third run back from a break and can take advantage of gate 1

Race 1- Winding Power (41/20) Bang in form, goes for 4 in a row and won only start over C&D. Watch the betting on UK Import, Calla Lagoon.
Race 2 - Mary's Captain (10/1 e/w) returns from a 260 day rest. Only run was in the strong Splittheeights form line. Chance if fit. Could be a quick Habib/Marx-Jacobson double. Respect for the first timers, One Eye On Dubai cost R2.7million. Comments from Hollywood racing website: "He seems like a nice type of horse but has not had many grass gallops. He may be green and will be running on. He has a place chance."
Race 3 - Mocha Magic (9/10) good 3rd on debut. Kwaito (28/10) ran 10l behind Haute Couture on debut. Form line of that race doesn't jump off the page. Reported not striding out in next run. Reckless Abandon (15/4) similar comments on Hollywood racing website as the runner in the previous race.
Race 4 - Go For Broke (31/20) received betting support when 4th on debut. Was carried in and steadied shortly after the start on that day. Drops 200m in trip for this race. Draw 7/8 a concern on the inside track. Elusive Dragon (18/10) last run was in a Gr 2 behind Palace Of Avernia. Draw 8/8. Northern European (36/10) raced on Thursday and could earn again if he took the run well. The Spies yard is no stranger to running horses close up. Champagne Air (10/1) should improve from first run and could upset.
Race 5 - Nightshine (18/10) has proper form and won only start over C&D. Apprentice Louw also in form with two winners yesterday and one Friday evening.
Race 6 - Zip Code (3/1) received a ton of betting support when third behind Bay Empire last weekend. Has earned a stake cheque in all but one run on the inside track.
