Race 3 Haze And Smoke each way at 10/1. Still lightly raced she has a couple of weight turnarounds on collateral form lines in her favour, drop in trip could be a question mark but has won twice on poly.
Race 5 Champonelle each way at 25/2. All 4 career wins on the poly, last 3 runs drawn 9/11, 8/9 and 9/9 but has gate 2 today and 1 of only 2 rides booked for Murray
Race 9 Pointer at 33/10. Has been running in stronger races in Gauteng and if taking to the poly she should be a big player in this grade jumping from gate 3 with 2.5kg claimer on board

Race 3 Trompe L’oeil at 5/2. Just denied last time, 2 wins from 5 starts and yard’s only runner on the day
Race 5 Lonely As A Cloud at 9/2. Drops back to preferred distance after a no show over 1200 last time. Has been running consistently in stronger races.
Race 6 Wayne at 8/1. Ignore latest In good form prior, regular jockey de Melo up

Race 2 Camden Square at 9/2. Significantly up in trip, went close last time on turf (form franked) but also handles poly.
Race 6 Too Late My Mate at 3/1. Consistent and proven on poly. Zackey retains the ride and a big player
Race 8 Hollandia Bakkerij at 11/2. Yard has 2 big runners, this one really enjoys the poly so surface change a plus, excuses last time, in good form prior and Murray up.

Race 5 Powerandtheglory at 6/1. Cracking field this but many returning from a break and prepping for later targets. Selection is in form and has fitness on side for hat trick bid.
Race 6 Japura at 7/2 Useful juvenile form was returning from a long break when an excellent fast finishing second on poly last time out, well drawn at 2.
Race 7 Lou Lou at 7/1. Has been highly tried and ought to be a big player in this grade.

Race 1 - Small place bet on High Rider (15/4 top 3). Seems to be improving, form line of most recent run not the worst. Blinkers fitted for the first time.
Race 5 - Kleinzee (7/10) 6/6 on the poly. I feel she is still on the up. Honourable Member (28/10 top 2, 7/10 top 3 places) 9.5kg better off with Kleinzee for a 4.35l beating over C&D. Oncidum (5/1) won 2/3 over C&D, leaps up in class today.
Race 7 - Cruise Control (13/20) the class of the race. 3 wins, 3 runner-up finishes and a 4th in 7 starts over C&D.
Race 8 - The question is if the handicapper has caught up with Wild Fig (18/10) who is 3/3 over C&D and up 21 points in rating since first win over C&D just over 3 months ago. World Of Royalty (34/10) first local start. Only previous start over this distance was in a Gr1. Ran 8l behind Errol Flynn in a Gr 3 after that. Could be anything. Ginger Delight (22/1 e/w) is 10.5 lengths better off with Wild Fig for a 7 length beating and represents a lot of value for those taking on the favorite.
Win Double: Kleinzee x Cruise Control @18/10

Race 2 - Clean Sweep (7/2) finished very well on debut, had a subsequent winner in Nautical Fire behind him on that occassion. Listening to Tienie Prinsloo in the Perfectly Placed interviews, he rates Thunder Star, who was 2l behind Clean Sweep that day. Favorite Celeritas (25/20) is a full sister to Speedman.
Race 3 - Gimme Sunshine (24/10) good 3rd in a strong looking race last time out. I'm not seeing the wide draw as a massive let down. Pink Skies (12/1) nice horse for swingers. Finished 3rd behind decent sorts in both career runs over 1400m. Blinkers fitted for the first time SW 11x14
Race 4 - Coast Of The Sun (5/10) enters with a massive reputation and is still way ahead of the handicapper. Will contest features this season.
Race 5 - Quickstepgal (22/10) takes on male opposition. Main dangers seem to be Powerandtheglory (13/2), who is on the up and finished under 2l behind Jet Force over this distance earlier. Also beat Maphaka, who has came out and won thrice, over this distance on the poly in penultimate run. Zeitz (15/2) most probably aiming for the Charity Mile at the end of the month. A win and a runner-up finish in two career runs over this distance. SW 1x5
Race 6 - Ashvendra (4/1) won very well on debut, beating a good sort in Barry's Boy. Lot's of scope for improvement, only carries 54kg.
Race 7 - Fascination (7/2) enjoys Greyville turf. Handles soft ground as well. Found form in last three runs.
Race 8 - Match That (23/10) might just turn it around with Sohot Sowhat (12/10) if jumping on terms.

Race 4 Hats Queen each way at 16/1. Tops the best weighted column and has won over this trip. 69 day absence to overcome but this 5o mare is very useful on her day
Race 5 Got The Tiger at 15/10. Heavily backed on 2nd start and impressed in winning. Rating of 87 may be conservative as form of that maiden has been franked.
Race 6 Whistle The Tune each way at 12.5/1. Likeable mare who runs consistently well from 1000m to the mile. Could enjoy the 1450m today after running in races that were just a tad stronger
Race 7 I’m A Fireball each way at 10/1. Fitness guaranteed in a race where many are returning from a break. 2/2 this trip and 1/1 over this C&D, taking on some classy sorts but on the upgrade and could play a leading role.
Race 9 Continental King at 5/1. Will strip fitter for comeback run when slow away. Well drawn at 2

Race 3 Godric Gryffindor at 28/10. Lengthy absence and a horrible draw o overcome but boasts the best known form in the race
Race 4 Superhero at 5/2. Knocking at the door for 2nd career win, 1.5kg claimer on board may do the trick
Race 5 Pink Pigeon at 5/2. Weight turnarounds suggest a big run can be expected, Fourie up.
Race 6 Axis Power at 33/20. WCP debut was impressive and can go one better today
Race 8 Devil A Saint at 4/1. Another who has weight turnarounds supporting his claims
Have a good weekend guys, play well

Thanks Coil. Gimme Sunshine, what a win. Wild and Free big run to finish 2nd to Coast Of The Sun. All three massive contenders for the upcoming features whether they go to the Highveld or Cape Town. Zeitz my early fancy for the Charity Mile. Celeritas and Goldfinch nice debuts, two to follow next time out. Some nice winners JT ! Well done .

Turffontein Inside
Race 1 - Le Concierge (17/10) raids from Summerveld. He finished 2nd to Wild and Free and in front of Gimme Sunshine, who both ran top races last night, in his most recent start. Wouldn't be surprised if he jumps 8/10. Lucky Awesome (25/10) comes from strong form lines and was scratched on Thursday due to a bruised left front medial heel. This should be the case again today, I stand to be corrected, but I think that triggers a minimum 4 day suspension as per NHA rules?
Race 2 - Tu Giusto (16/10) fancied when third to Lightinthewoods on debut. Stable comments positive for a big run. Watch the betting on Snap Your Fingers (7/2) who returns from a 100 day rest. Fancied in all three career starts to date. Top 2.6 length 2nd behind Sheriff Bill Brown over a similar distance on debut. Polly Plummer (9/2) form line of penultimate run behind Feast Of Berries over 1600m strong.
Race 3 - Top Floor (15/4) tries a staying trip for the first time. One feels the de Kock runners should start firing on all cylinders now as the big races are coming up. Stable comments very positive and they've been suggesting for a while now that he will love a longer trip. 3rd run after a rest. Samuel Sharpe (9/2) found coughing post last run. Could give a better performance if sound.
Race 4 - Dawson's Anvil (14/10) top return run last time when flying from way back for a close 2nd behind the talented Raptor King, giving him 7.5kgs, over 1450m. Big things are expected by his stable from Raptor King. Step up in trip shouldn't be a concern. Only worry is 2nd run after a rest. Doctor Strangelove (11/1) goes for a hat-trick but leaps up in class. One who might be better over further.
Race 5 - Gotthetiger (23/20) with Chris, looks the right one. Small e/w on Kovil (18/1) should Gotthetiger fluff his lines. Disappointing 4th last time out, but a horse with much more ability than his current rating. Remember the trainer mentioning this horse beating the ill-fated Kudikaran (RIP, so devastating) in work when winning his maiden. Kudikaran what price in this field?
Race 6 - Open race, many returning from a rest and perhaps targeting features later in the season. Care Forgot (20/1 e/w) top runs behind Quickstepgal and Zeitz in Durban and might have been specifically aimed at this race? Won only start over C&D. Craig Zackey takes the ride as he most probably can't ride at 51.5kg allocated to Get Up. Flower Island (16/10) with a postage stamp weight of 50.5kgs from draw two tries the trip for the first time and must be a massive runner. SW 6x12
Race 7 - Another very open race with many perhaps targeting features to come. I'm A Fireball (17/2) takes on strongest to date and is certainly capable. Main Defender (13/2) won this race 3 years ago. Gladatorian (17/2) 4th in this race two years ago. Good career form over 1400m, including beating See It Again and 2nd to Questioning. Tin Pan Alley (9/2) highest rated horse in the race, won both starts over 1450m (including this race last year). Choisanaada (15/1) 4th in this race last year, now 9kgs better off with Tin Pan Alley for a 1 length beating. Value!! Fire Attack (18/1) runs well fresh over shorter distances than his most effective trips. Talk To The Master (15/1) now with Robbie Sage. Top recent KZN form and goes well for Serino Moodley. (2wins from 3 starts). Might just prefer the ground a bit soft. Eric Dubois (33/10) lots of ability over a distance more suited than sprints. Strongest task to date for him. Include as many as possible in the P6. Swinger will pay well if lands: SW 3x6
Race 8 - Bisou Bisou (28/10) top last run giving 7 - 7.5kgs to the likes of Gimme A Fireball, Whatsdamatterwithu and Rivera. 2nd in a Gr 2 juvenile feature over this distance in penultimate run. Should be hard to beat and one of the better bets on the card.
Race 9 - No rain predicted today, but not sure how soft the ground might still be after all the rain earlier this week. If still soft, its no secret that Little Boy Blue (14/10) doesn't enjoy the soft going. Think he will be hard to beat if the going is good. Highwayman Harry (15/4) finished nose hairs behind Little Boy Blue and is 2.5kgs better off. A big runner if the going is still soft. Wild As The Wind (22/1 e/w) could be the surprise package of the race. Had subsequent three time winner, Trip Of Faith, one length in front him, giving her 1.5kgs in only run over C&D. Still a small sample size, but doesn't seem to be worried by going.
Win double for the day: Le Concierge x Bisou Bisou just over 9/1

Race 2
I really like Snap your Fingers but she's drifting like a barge.
Race 3
The old warrior Apache Son, should be too strong here if in the mood today.
Race 4
Land of the rising Sun should go close here , giving away some weight to some useful horses but if travelled ok my first selection.
Race 5
Duke of Lorraine might not be the top choice for the Sakkie de Kok stable but I think he's decent and could go close at a nice price.
Race 6
The top 2 look the right ones but I also fancy Whistle the Tune if she is well.
Race 7
Talk to the Master is an interesting runner , could be better than realised . Race is open.
Race 8
Gallic Victor a narrow first choice.
Race 9
Little Boy Blue tough to beat , my best bet of the day.
Play well lads

I’m dipping my toe in after a long absence on the horses -
T6 Swiatek @ 12/1 ew. I feel course and going will suit her and the way they have come off the pace today makes her a danger as she finishes her races well.

Race 1 - El Cohete (13/1 e/w) last chance saloon for me. Doesn't like soft going, de Melo retains the ride. Nadia Nerina (7/2) had a few decent horses in front of her last time and should improve.
Race 2 - Whispers for first timers Raise A Hoof (17/2) and Storm The Capitol (21/10). De Melo on Snow Space (15/1) must be showing ability? African Wild Dog (19/20) been bumping some very good sorts when runner-up last 4 runs. It's Coming Home (17/1, top 4 place 14/10) attracted betting support on debut and can only improve. If you are feeling lucky, take a hail mary win double El Cohete x It's Coming Home @ 250/1 Top 4 place double @ 44/10
Race 3 - Continue The Dream (11/10 from opening at 4/1). Full brother to Gimme A Prince, The Real Prince and Gimmie Rules. Of the raced runners, Confirmed (7/2) ran on very well for 4th when less than a length behind Big City Roller, who came out and won, on debut. Confirmed was reported to be making an abnormal respiratory noise in running but nothing obvious detected by the veterinarian post-race. SW 8x10
Race 4 - Ready For The Road (21/10) had excuses in only run over this trip. Could get the better of Superhero (24/10), who has been holding form well, but might just need the ground to be a bit on the softer side.
Race 5 - Pink Pigeon (21/10) gets 4.5kgs from Oliver (5/1) for a 0.3length beating over this trip at Kenilworth. Both absolutely love racing at Durbanville and I can't see anything else finishing in front of them. Royal Tiara (9/2) return run over a distance way too short. SW & Box EX 6x1
Race 6 - Axis Power (17/10) with only 51.5kgs on his back looks hard to beat. Was scratched from a race last weekend in favor of this race. Earned a stake cheque in all 9 starts thus far this year. Danger seems to be Moody Blue (34/10) who has won twice and finished runner-up in his last 3 starts over C&D. In form apprentice Mosaheb takes the ride, but it won't be easy giving Axis Power 7.5kgs. Moddy Blue also racing of a career high rating of 79 after being penalised 4 points for last win.
Race 7 - Half sister to Eight on Eighteen and Future Free, Over My Shoulder (8/10) comes to the racetrack with a huge reputation. Was heavily backed on debut and duly arrived. She was scratched from a race last week Saturday for coughing. I'm prepared to end up with egg on my face, but taking her on with Sabre Wing (backed in from 5/1 to 33/10), who is racing fit and was just over a length behind Over My Shoulder that day. Sabre Wing is highly thought of by the connections and will relish the step up in trip. Also receives 1.5kg from the favorite here.
Race 8 - With Chris, Devil A Saint (4/1) big runner with the turn around at the weights.

Thanks @Southpaw. Was really great watching him mow them down. His class certainly prevailed! So close to hitting the swinger with Choisaanada just failing to hold on for 3rd. It was a day to follow the late money as Lucky Awesome, Gladatorian, Sosoru and Little Boy Blue all attracted late support.Just watched the replays from yesterday and I missed your main race call JT, great shout Gladitorian! What a win from the pensioner in the field.
