Winning Form selections for @Hollywoodbets Scottsville on Sunday 14th December where there are huge prizes available in the free to enter Punters Challenge
Race 1
This is the first juvenile race in KwaZulu-Natal and the betting market will be the best guide in this contest. JAPURA is a daughter of Querari from the Mike Miller stable with Kabelo Matsunyane is booked to ride. She is related to Touched By Angels who has won twice and placed twice from four starts. If not too green in running, she may give the males a run for their money.
MASTER MAGICIAN is a son of Querari from the Mike Miller yard with stable jockey Tristan Godden in the saddle. If not in need of the run, he should start his career on a positive note.
STEAMY WINDOWS is a son of Master Of My Fate from the Mike Miller stable and Mathew Thackeray will do duty. If not too green in running, he should give a good account of himself.
Race 2
WINTER IN LONDON showed some improvement when third over this C&D last time. He returns from a 12-week break, during which time he was gelded. The son of What A Winter is a progressive type and if not in need of the run, he may find himself in the winner’s enclosure.
BEST OF ALL is an unraced son of Vercingetorix from the Gareth van Zyl stable and S’manga Khumalo is booked to ride. He is related to two-time winner Baltic Secret. If not in need of the run, he should start his career on a positive note. The betting market will be the best guide with regards to his chances.
PLACE OF PRACTICE is the stable companion of the second selection. He ran a much-improved race when second over 1000m on the polytrack last time. Interestingly, S’manga Khumalo who rode him that day has opted to ride the second choice.
Race 3
MR MCDONALD is the best bet on the programme. He produced a promising debut effort over this distance on the polytrack. He lost a length leaving the start, took time to find his feet but stayed on at the finish. The son of One World would have gained from the experience and with the natural improvement that is expected, he should be the one to beat.
DIRECTOR went way too fast up front over 1600m at Hollywoodbets Greyville last time. It must be noted that Green Glow has come out and won again since. It is encouraging that S’manga Khumalo steps back into the saddle and if switching off early, he may be the one to fill the exacta spot.
DUBAI DUDE finished 0.9 lengths behind DONMAGOO on debut. He is 4kgs better off at the weights today and that should be enough for the tables to be turned.
Race 4
THOUGHT CONTROL produced a promising debut effort over this distance at Hollywoodbets Greyville. The manner in which she stayed on at the finish that day was encouraging. The daughter of What A Winter would have gained from the experience and with the natural improvement that is expected, she may be the one to beat.
SOVEREIGN GEM finished 0.9 lengths behind the top choice last time. The pair meet on the same weight terms today and she may have to settle for the same result.
ANNIE‘S SONG should have won her last start over 1600m at Hollywoodbets Greyville. The obvious concern is the widest draw, but she gets the services of S’manga Khumalo who will give her all the necessary assistance from the saddle.
Race 5
RED MOUNTAIN was running on when third over 1600m on the polytrack last time. He has won once and finished third once from three starts over this C&D. If not too far out of his ground turning for home, he can return to winning ways.
THE GLIDING FISH took on stronger opposition over this distance on the polytrack last time. He drops in class and has cracked a good draw of two. The 7yo gelding would not be a shock winner.
LIONS EYE was a tad disappointing over 1200m on the polytrack last time. His form prior to that outing was good. With a bit of luck from his awkward draw of eight, he should have a say in the outcome of this contest.
Race 6
COWDRAY PARK was not disgraced when sixth over 1000m on the polytrack last time. The manner in which he stayed on at the finish that day suggests that he will enjoy the rise to 1400m. The son of Legislate is having his peak run and will be cherry-ripe. He drops back in class and may be the one to beat.
MAGMA MAGIC showed some signs of needing his last start over 1600m on the polytrack. He has won once, finished second once and third once from as many starts over this C&D. He should strip much fitter and is one of the leading contenders.
GREENHOUSE has not finished too far off the winner in recent outings. She takes a drop in class and has cracked a good draw of two. The daughter of Danon Platina should give the males a run for their money.
Race 7
GRAND OCCASION has good consistent form lines to her credit. She set the pace over 1600m on the polytrack last time, but found one too good in the form of Rahhabba. She finished second in her only attempt over this C&D. The daughter of Danon Platina can notch up her fourth-career victory.
SASCHA‘S DREAM stayed on after a slow start over 1800m on the polytrack last time. She is having her peak run today and should be cherry-ripe. She is likely to be settled near the rear of the field from the widest draw and will be mowing down the frontrunners.
MISS TWINKLE finished 1.4 lengths behind the second choice last time. The pair meet on the same weight terms today and she may have to settle for the same result. The daughter of Oratorio will love the return to the turf.
Race 8
GORGEOUS GUY has taken on stronger company in his last two starts and is better than those efforts suggest. He has won twice, finished second three times and third three times from 14 starts over this C&D. The son of Canford Cliffs drops back in class and on best form shown, he may be the one to cause the surprise.
MAPHAKA lacked extra late when third over 1100m on the polytrack last time. He has won once, finished second once and third once from four starts over this C&D. Keagan de Melo is booked to ride and he may be able to coax that little bit extra out of him where it matters most.
BEAMONESQUE tried hard when second over this distance on the polytrack last time. He is in a good space and must be included in all bets.
Race 9
ARVERNI PRINCESS finished 0.4 lengths behind LITTLE CRACKER last time. She is 4kgs better off at the weights today and that should be enough for the tables to be turned. She won under 2.5kgs claiming Apprentice Jacey Botes, three runs ago. The daughter of Vercingetorix is likely to race on the speed and she may be hard to peg back.
LITTLE CRACKER ran a creditable race when third over this distance on the polytrack last time. Should the top choice fluff her lines, he may be the one to pick up the pieces.
WHEREVERILAYMYHAT finished 0.6 lengths behind the top choice last time. He is 1kg worse off at the weights today and may have to settle for the same result
