Winning Form selections for racing from Turffontein on Sunday 11th January where there are huge prizes available in the free to enter @Hollywoodbets Punters Challenge
Race 1
VOLCANIC HEAT is the only winner in this contest. She showed speed on debut over 800m on this course, found another kick and drew clear of the opposition. The daughter of Erupt could be anything and can remain unbeaten.
RUBY WHISPER stayed on at the finish when third over this distance at the Vaal last time. It must be noted that the horse that finished second that day has come out and won since. She finished 1.7 lengths behind the top choice on debut.
GRISELDA is an unraced daughter of Erik The Red from the Sean Tarry stable and Keagan de Melo is booked to ride. She is related to six-time winner Gilded Butterfly. If not in need of the run, she should start her career on a positive note. The betting market will be the best guide with regards to her and the other first timers.
Race 2
HEATH HOUSE has won both his career efforts with ease. He showed good pace over this distance at the Vaal last time and romped home. The son of Erupt clearly has class about him and should remain unbeaten.
GIMME A VODKA is an unraced son of Gimmethegreenlight from the Sean Tarry stable with Keagan de Melo up. His mother, Vodka Lime was a three-time winner over 1000m. If not in need of the run, he should start his career on a positive note. The betting market will be the best guide with regards to him and the other unraced entrants.
THE BRONX BULL is a son of Buffalo Bill Cody and he is the stable companion of the top choice. He is related to two-time winner Rifle Queen. If not too green in running, he should start his career on a positive note.
Race 3
PRECOCIOUS returns from a 26-week break and is having her first outing for the Tony Peter stable. She has been a tad disappointing in her last two starts after a promising debut effort over this trip at Hollywoodbets Durbanville. Gavin Lerena rides and if not in need of the run, she can shed her maiden tag.
PRINCESS OF ALL was outrun late after showing speed over this C&D last time. Should the top choice fluff her lines, she may be the one to pick up the pieces.
ELEGANT EDGE finished 1.7 lengths behind the second selection last time. The pair meet on the same weight terms today and she may have to settle for the same result.
Race 4
FIERY ROSE has finished second in all three career efforts to date. She returns from a 28-week break, during which time she would have strengthened up. The daughter of Fire Away receives her sex allowance and she should give the males a run for their money.
STONEYWOOD showed good improvement in his first run as a gelding. He would have come on from the run and will strip much fitter. Craig Zackey retains the ride and the combination merit healthy respect.
ROCKABILLY has run two decent races to date. It must be noted that Old Fashioned has come out and won again since. He has been gelded since his last outing which may have done the trick.
Race 5
OLIVIA‘S WAY ran a cracker when second in the Grade 1 Betway Summer Cup last time. She took the lead at the 400m mark before getting caught late by Mocha Blend. Andrew Fortune makes the trip up to ride her and she is the horse to beat.
BUSSTOPINHOUNSLOW finished 2.3 lengths behind the top choice last time. The pair meet on the same weight terms today and he may have to settle for the same result.
ALADDIN‘S LAMP was an easy winner of the Non-Black Type Betway Summer Cup Consolation last time. He received an eight-pound penalty for that victory. He is clearly in a good space and merits healthy respect.
Race 6
CHOISAANADA was outrun late when fourth over 1400m on this course last time. There does not seem to be much pace in this contest and Callan Murray will be able to use his early gate speed to overcome the widest draw without using up too much energy. The son of Querari may be hard to peg back at the finish.
CHRONICLE KING is better than his last start in the Grade 2 Jackpot City Dingaans. He is the best-weighted runner in this contest and should be competitive.
ANFIELDS ROCKET ran a fair race in the Grade 1 Betway Summer Cup last time. He may be at his best over further, but he gets the services of Andrew Fortune who may be able to get the best out of him.
Race 7
VALENTINA BALDUCCI is better than her last start in the Grade 3 Ducat Africa Fillies Mile as she was reported to have choked up. She won a good race in the Grade 3 TAB Starling Stakes in her penultimate outing. The daughter of Skitt Skizzle jumps from a good draw of two and with Gavin Lerena in the saddle, she may be the one to beat.
PRETTY PERSUASIVE has good form lines to her name. She has won once and finished third once from as many starts over this C&D. Keagan de Melo rides and the pair merit healthy respect.
MAMLAMBO was interestingly sent to the front in the Grade 3 Ducat Africa Fillies Mile last time and never found a finish. She is at her best over this distance and with Marco van Rensburg back in the saddle, she should be a big runner.
Race 8
TRUST is the best bet on the programme. He won a game race in the Grade 2 Jackpot City Dingaans over 1600m last time. Jan Van Goyen has come out and won the Grade 1 Hollywoodbets Cape Guineas since. He should get a good run in transit from barrier three and should take a power of beating.
CHARMING CHEETAH has good recent form lines to his name. The manner in which he finished off his last race suggests that he should have no issues with the rise to 1400m. The son of New Predator may be the one to fill the exacta spot.
ONE EYE ON VEGAS was an easy winner of his last start over this C&D. He finished 2.5 lengths behind the top choice, three runs ago. He is 2kgs better off at the weights today and should finish closer as a result.
Race 9
PISTOL PETE was running on when third in the Grade 3 Betway Lebelo Sprint last time. He won a good race in the Grade 3 New Turf Carriers Merchants in his penultimate outing. He is in a good space and is the horse to beat.
WILLIAM ROBERTSON is better than his last three starts. He has won three times and finished second three times from as many starts over this C&D. He won a Grade 1 under Ryan Munger and the combination cannot be discounted.
ALMOND SEA cost herself leaving the start last time as she lost three lengths. The manner in which she finished off her race was eye-catching. If jumping on terms, she should give the males a run for their money.
Race 10
This is a competitive Merit Rated 74 Handicap and caution is advised. The tentative first selection is ABOUND from the James Crawford stable. He produced a strong finish when second over this C&D last time. Despite his big weight of 63kgs, he can notch up his fourth-career victory.
HIS LORDSHIP was running on when second over this C&D last time. He meets a similar field this afternoon and merits healthy respect.
BLINDFIRE finished 0.9 lengths behind Deal Maker last time. She is 2.5kgs better off at the weights today and that should be enough for the tables to be turned
