Winning Form selections for racing from the Vaal on Tuesday 23rd December where there are huge prizes available in the free to enter @Hollywoodbets Punters Challenge
Race 1
WINDS OF GRACE has good consistent form lines to her credit, but she has been costly to follow. She stayed on when third over 1450m on this course last time. The daughter of Act Of War is ideally drawn in barrier two. Gavin Lerena may be able to coax that little bit extra out of her where it matters most.
GALAXY QUEEN challenged strongly when fourth over this C&D last time. She finished 2.6 lengths behind the top choice in her penultimate run. She is 1kg worse off at the weights today and may have to settle for the same result.
HUBERTUS HUNT showed massive improvement when second over 1400m last time. It must be noted that the form of that race has been franked. The daughter of Erik The Red will strip much fitter and if confirming her recent improvement, she should be involved at the finish.
Race 2
LANCE ALOT raced from a handy position over this C&D last time, but found one too good in the form of Agoge. The son of Lance is a progressive type and gets the services of 4kgs claiming Apprentice Savanna Valjalo. With a bit of luck in running, he can go one better.
SHOREYBOMBA showed good improvement when third over 1450m on this course last time. The son of Declarationofpeace should love the rise to 1600m and if confirming his recent improvement, he should be competitive.
BABETTE‘S FEAST stayed on when fifth over 1400m last time. It must be noted that the form of that race has been franked. Her penultimate run when third over this C&D was encouraging. She will strip much fitter and should give the males a run for their money.
Race 3
PRETTY ANALIA‘S last two starts have been fair. The daughter of Captain Of All has dropped in the ratings and jumps from a good draw of three. S’manga Khumalo is booked to ride and he may be able to get the best out of her where it matters most.
NKWENKWEZI is a winner of her last three starts. It must be noted that multiple horses from her last form line have come out and won since. She is carded to race on 18 December 2025 and her progress in that race will need to be monitored.
SKY PILLAR ROCK won a good race over 1800m on this course last time. He set the pace, found another kick and drew off in the latter stages. He takes on stronger, but is in a good space and should be up to the task at hand.
Race 4
PRINCE OF KILDARE has good consistent form lines to his credit. He finished 0.1 lengths behind FATHER CHRISTMAS, three runs ago. He is 0.5kgs better off at the weights today and there should not be much separating the pair at the finish.
FATHER CHRISTMAS stayed on when third over 1600m last time. He is having his peak run today and should be cherry ripe. The booking of Craig Zackey is a big plus and he merits healthy respect.
LADY BLUNT stayed on at the finish when third over 1800m on this course last time. She won her previous two efforts. If Marco van Rensburg is able to switch her off early, she should give the males a run for their money.
Race 5
THAT‘S MY BABY was not beaten far when fifth over 1500m on this course last time. The daughter of Master Of My Fate returns to handicap company. Mickaelle Michel is likely to use her early gate speed to overcome the awkward draw and she may be hard to peg back.
TINA LOVELACE produced a typical second run after a rest last time. She is making her handicap debut and will be at peak fitness. The daughter of Danon Platina has some class about her and she cannot be discounted.
LADY SABRINA has good recent form lines to her name. She was running on when second over this distance on the Turffontein Inside course last time. With a bit of luck in running, she should have a say in the outcome of this contest.
Race 6
FIRE IN HER SOUL is better than her last outing in the Grade 3 Ducat Africa Fillies Mile as she was reported to be not striding out. She finished 1.9 lengths behind SARAGOSSA CAT in her penultimate outing. She is 2.5kgs better off at the weights today and that should be enough for the tables to be turned. Craig Zackey steps back into the saddle, and she may be the one to side with.
SARAGOSSA CAT showed pace when winning her last start over 1400m. The daughter of Hurricane Cat received a five- pound penalty for that victory. She is unbeaten under Gavin Lerena and can keep that record intact.
WHIRLYBIRD stayed on when third over 1160m at Turffontein last time. The manner in which she finishes off her races suggests that she will enjoy the rise to 1450m. With a bit of luck from the widest draw, she should earn another cheque.
Race 7
MANYELETI is the best bet on the programme. She followed up her debut victory with a good second-place finish over this distance on the Turffontein Inside course. The daughter of Danon Platina showed some class when winning on debut. She is likely to race on the speed once again and should be hard to peg back.
ALPINE JET has had excuses in her last two starts and is better than those efforts suggest. She showed promise in her first three career outings. Should the top choice fluff her lines, she may be the one to pick up the pieces.
ROAMING SPIRIT finished 0.25 lengths behind GREEN FLASH last time. She is 4kgs better off at the weights today and that should be enough for the tables to be turned. She gets the blinkers fitted which should sharpen her up.
Race 8
TEMPRANILLO was an easy winner when shedding her maiden tag over this distance on the Turffontein Inside course. She showed good speed and won with a ton in hand. The daughter of Querari would have gained in confidence with that victory. She does take on stronger, but has plenty of scope and should be up to the task at hand.
DEAL MAKER did not go on with the effort when third over this C&D last time. She returns from a 19-week break which would have done her the world of good. Apprentice Savanna Valjalo takes the 4kgs off her back which will assist her cause.
MAVERICK QUEEN was an easy winner of her last start over 1200m on the Turffontein Inside course. She drops to 1000m for the first time. She is carded to race on 20 December 2025 and her progress in that race will need to be monitored
