RACE 1
RUNGSTEDLAND found one too good in the form of This Or That last time. The daughter of Canford Cliffs returns from a 19-week break, during which time she would have strengthened up. She carries a handy galloping mass of 55.5kgs and if not in need of the outing, she can shed her maiden tag.
ROCKING IN RIO returns from an 18-week break, during which time he was gelded. The son of Heavenly Blue has scope and can show good improvement.
J LORDI has finished fourth in his last four starts. Apprentice Bongani Makhubo takes the 4kgs off his back which will assist his cause. If seeing out the 1300m, he should have a say in the outcome of this contest.
RACE 2
BURNING DESIRE showed good improvement when second over this C&D last time. The daughter of Potala Palace is having her peak run and should be cherry-ripe. She is drawn in pole position once again and can go one better.
MADE TO MEASURE was running on when second over 1400m on this course last time. She has finished second twice from as many starts over this C&D. If not too far out of her ground turning for home, she can shed her maiden tag.
KIM KAY should have finished closer to the winner over 1400m last time. She had to be switched for running room at the 300m mark that day. She is the stable elect with Wayne Agrella aboard, and cannot be discounted.
RACE 3
GINGER DELIGHT is better than her last start against male company. It must be noted that Wild Fig has come out and won again since. She finished third in the Non-Black Type Wedgewood Handicap in her penultimate outing. Should the top choice fluff her lines, she may be the one to pick up the pieces.
HAT MONTERA ran a fair race in the Listed Jockey Club Stakes last time. She has won once and finished second once from three starts over this C&D. She runs well for 4kgs claiming Apprentice Wilmien Fourie and may be hard to peg back.
ROYAL MISSY‘S last two starts have been fair. 4kgs claiming Apprentice Bongani Makhubo retains the ride. On best form shown, she should have a say in the outcome of this contest
RACE 4
RICHARDTHEFEARLESS has shown signs of a form return in his last two starts. He took the lead at the 1000m mark last time and stayed on to finish fourth. Apprentice Bongani Makhubo takes the 4kgs off his back which will assist his cause. If all goes according to plan, he can go close.
HOLLANDIA BAKKERIJ finished 0.5 lengths behind the top choice last time. He is 4kgs worse off at the weights today and may have to settle for the same result.
BLACKBERRY BREEZE was running on when second over 1600m on this course last time. He has finished second once and third once from as many starts over this C&D. He is versatile and can earn another cheque for his patrons.
RACE 5
PALANCAR won his last start over 1300m on this course easier than the official margin suggests. He received a four-pound penalty for that victory. The son of The United States has cracked a good draw of three and can follow up.
TRAVEL MASTER is a winner of his last two starts. It must be noted that the form of his last outing has been franked. He is in a good space and can notch up the hat-trick.
HOSPICES DE BEAUNE is better than his last start as the jockey reported something to be amiss in running. He finished 2 lengths behind the top choice in his penultimate outing. He is 1.5kgs worse off at the weights today and may battle to turn the form around.
RACE 6
FIRST OFFICER ran a good race when third in the Listed TAB Casino Champion Juvenile Cup. He raced from a handy position and stayed on to finish third. Richard Fourie was aboard when victorious on debut. He is a horse with plenty of scope and may be the one to side with.
GIVETHATMANABELLS won his last start over this C&D well. He set the pace and found more where it matters most. He is likely to race on the pace and may be hard to peg back.
SUSURRANDO ran a good race when second over 1300m on this course last time. He has won once and finished third three times from six starts over this distance. If switching off early, he can go one better.
RACE 7
NEW DAY followed up her maiden victory with a good third-place finish over 1200m on this course. The manner in which she finished off her race that day suggests that she will love the rise to 1400m. If not too far out of her ground turning for home, she can return to winning ways.
MIDNIGHT MUSIC ran on when second over 1200m on this course last time. She is yet to place over this distance, but if confirming her recent improvement, she can go close.
WELSH STARLET should have finished closer last time as the saddle was reported to have slipped in running. She is likely to be settled near the rear of the field and will be mowing down the frontrunners.
RACE 8
THIS OR THAT finished 0.05 lengths behind VOORSMAAKIE last time. She is 0.5kgs better off at the weights today and there should not be much separating the pair at the finish. She does have a wide draw to overcome, but she gets the services of Richard Fourie who will give her all the necessary assistance from the saddle.
VOORSMAAKIE ran a good race when second over this C&D last time. She returns from a short nine-week break, during which time she would have freshened up. From her good draw of three, she should throw out a big challenge to the top choice.
WHIRLYBIRD was touched off in her last start over this C&D. The daughter of Canford Cliffs has dropped to a competitive rating. If getting away on terms, she should be involved.
