arsenal1819Uefa Champions League Round 4 continues on Wednesday night when our focus is on Club Brugge v Aston Villa, Inter v Arsenal and PSG v Atletico Madrid

Prices below from BoyleSports are correct at the time of writing but subject to change

Club Brugge 2.45/1 Draw 2.35/1 Aston Villa 12/10

Brugge have 1 win and 2 defeats to show for their UCL efforts so far. The sole win came away to Stium Graz, 1-0 in Round 2 and either side of that they lost 3-0 at home to Dortmund and most recently they went down 3-1 away to AC Milan.

Villa (and Liverpool who play on Tuesday) boast a 100% record coming into Round 4 and they have yet to concede a goal. They started with a 3-0 win at Young Boys, followed up with a 1-0 home win over Bayern and in Round 3 they saw off Bologna 2-0 in another home fixture.

Villa had also been going well in the EPL but last weekend a late collapse saw them beaten 4-1 at Spurs and after just 1 win in their last 5 league games (alongside 3 draws and 1 defeat) they have dropped down to sixth spot.

The Verdict

An interesting test for Villa after a below par performance at Spurs Their defence was poor at the weekend, there could be a hangover from that and I feel there are goals for both teams and hopefully at least one more.

Bets: Combo total goals and both teams to score?(over 2.5 and yes at 23/20 with BoyleSports

Inter 1.68/1 Draw 2.05/1 Arsenal 1.95/1

Inter have made a solid start, taking 7 points from 3 matches and they have also yet to concede. A 0-0 draw away to Manchester City was followed by wins at home to Red Star (4-0) and at Young Boys 1-0.

Inter are currently second in Serie A, 1 point behind leaders Napoli with a record of 7 wins, 3 draws and just the 1 defeat.

Arsenal also have 7 points. They started with a 0-0 draw away to Atalanta and followed up with home wins over PSG (2-0) and Shakhtar (1-0).

In the EPL the Gunners have been losing ground and having taken just 1 point from their last 3 matches they are now fifth, 7 points off the pace being set by

Liverpool.

The Verdict

I can see why the draw is trading on the short side with both teams unbeaten and well placed when it comes to clinching a top 8 finish and auto qualification for the knockout rounds. I'm hoping both coaches see it as “must not lose” rather than “must win” game.

Bets: Match result draw at 2.05/1 with BoyleSports

PSG 0.77/1 Draw 2.55/1 Atletico 42/10

PSG have work to do, below half way in the standings with 4 points from their first 3 matches. A 1-0 home win over Girona first time out was followed by a 2-0 defeat at Arsenal and in Round 3 they let favourite backers down when they drew 1-1 at home to PSV.

PSG are currently 6 points clear of Marseille at the top of Ligue 1, unbeaten with 8 wins and 2 draws.

Atletico also badly need a boost. Their campaign started well enough with a 2-1 home win over Leipzig but they have lost their last 2 matches, 4-0 at Benfica and 3-1 at home to Lille.

Atletico are currently third in La Liga, 1 point behind Real but 10 shy of Barcelona and their record comprises of 6 wins, 5 draws and 1 defeat.

The Verdict

Neither side have hit their straps in this competition and given Atletico lost at home to French opposition in Round 3 they could well be up against it. PSG have only managed 2 goals in 3 outings though and I'm not sure they represent any value to win the game at this price.

Atletico games have generally been high scoring but 2-3 in total here covers a number of scorelines I can envisage.
