Five English Premier League matches take place on Saturday and we have a tip for every game including Aston Villa v Manchester City and Crystal Palace v Arsenal
Prices are correct at the time of publication but subject to change.
Aston Villa 23/10 Draw 28/10 Manchester City 21/20
Villa come into the round in seventh position with 25 points, 2 points and 2 places behind their opponents here. They have won their last 2 home games, against Brentford (3-1) and Southampton (1-0) but last weekend they went down 2-1 away to Forest.
After last week's late turnaround in the Manchester derby which City lost 2-1 at home to United the alarm bells continue to ring. Battling in the Champions League and 9 points off Liverpool in the title race having played 1 game more, a run of 1 win, 2 draws and 8 defeats in their last 11 across all competitions is jaw dropping stuff.
The Verdict
Villa have been a bit up and down of late and City have been way off it so it's no easy result to call in my book. I'll take a chance that one of the City big guns who has been quiet all season will pop up with a goal, the man in question being Phil Foden.
Bets: Anytime goalscorer Phil Foden at 31/10 with Sportingbet
Brentford 13/10 Draw 26/10 Notts Forest 2/1
Brentford boast the best home record in the EPL (7 wins, 1 draw) but they are only mid table as they have taken just 1 point from 8 road trips and in midweek they lost an EFL Cup ¼ final away to Newcastle (3-1). They have scored 26 goals in 8 in front of their own supporters including 20 in the last 5.
Forest have won 3 of their last 4 and they are in a lofty fourth place. Their most recent road trip delivered a 3-2 win at Man United, they have won 4 of 8 on the road, drawing 2 and their only defeats came at Arsenal and Man City.
The Verdict
Another game which looks like all 3 possible outcomes in the match result market would come as no surprise. For all Brentford's home form is top drawer clean sheets are hard to find and Gibbs-White is my pick to pop up with a goal for Forest.
Bets: Anytime goalscorer Gibbs-White at 31/10 with Sportingbet
Ipswich 37/10 Draw 3/1 Newcastle 7/10
Ipswich won 2-1 at Wolves last weekend but remain third bottom, 2 points and 1 place behind Leicester. Their only other victory came at Spurs and whilst they have drawn 4 of 8 at home, that first win in front of their own supporters has yet to arrive.
Newcastle put Leicester away 4-0 at St. James Park last weekend, snapping a 4 match run with out win league win. They followed up in midweek with a 3-1 home win over Brentford in the EFL Cup to reach the semi finals but they are below halfway in the EPL standings.
The Verdict
I was first of all thinking Ipswich could be surprise material here but Delap is suspended and that led a rethink. However I do see Ipswich scoring, set pieces may be a threat and I'll go with Leif Davis to lay it on
Bets: Player assists, Leif Davis, 1 or more at 4/1 with Sportingbet
West Ham 19/10 Draw 27/10 Brighton 13/10
West Ham are fourteenth with 19 points, 4 of which came in their last 2 outings, a 2-1 home win over Wolves and 1-1 draw at Bournemouth where they conceded a late equalizer.
Brighton are without a win in their last 4 (2 draws, 2 defeats) and they went down 3-1 at home to Palace last weekend. Two recent road trips saw them lose 3-1 at Fulham and draw 2-2 at Leicester.
The Verdict
West Ham have been really hard to catch right but they came through a must win home game against Wolves and were then very close to what would have been an excellent 3 points at Bournemouth. With Antonio out Bowen becomes an even more likely source of a Hammers goal.
Bets: Anytime goalscorer Jarrod Bowen at 2/1 with Sportingbet
Crystal Palace 46/10 Draw 32/10 Arsenal 6/10
These teams met in the EFL Cup quarters at The Emirates in midweek and a Jesus hat trick in the second half helped Arsenal edge it 3-2.
Palace's recent league form is by far their best of the season, unbeaten in their last 5 with 2 wins away from home alongside a draw at Villa and score draws at Selhurst Park against Newcastle and Man City. Home fans have seen them win just 1 league game this season but that did come in a derby with Spurs which they edged 1-0.
The Gunners are unbeaten in their last 6 league games although 3 of those were drawn and most recently they were held at Fulham (1-1) and at home to Everton (0-0). They are currently third with 30 points, 4 shy of Chelsea and 6 behind Liverpool and the league leaders have a game in hand.
The Verdict
Arsenal will no doubt field a stronger side than they did in the EFL Cup in midweek but Palace are at home this time and in decent shape. I see both sides scoring in a game of 3 goals or more.
Bets: Both teams to score and total goals, yes and over 2.5 at 5/4 with Sportingbet
