RACE 1: 11:50 HEINEKEN SUMMER JUVENILE STAKES (Listed), 1100m
We get under way with a juvenile race with a pretty even split of boy and girls. On what form we have Clair De Lune is arguably a worthy favourite but these babies can improve at a differing rate of knots, caution is advised and we will keep our powder dry.
RACE 2: 12:25 MAINE CHANCE FARMS MAJORCA STAKES Grade 1, 1600m
A small and select field of girls line up and the betting suggests it's a match up between the first two favourites Double Grand Slam and Fatal Flaw. That might not do justice to the talented Rascova and a potential improver in Roccapina who is stepping up in trip. Rascova gets the vote to run into the first 2.

RACE 3: 13:00 TSOGO SUN SUMMER FLING STAKES Grade 3, 2000m
The best weighted column in the form guide has Saartjie at the top followed by Port Elizabeth raider Joy and Peace. The favourite ran no sort of race last time out but if that can be forgiven she could be hard to beat.

RACE 4: 13:35 NEW TURF CARRIERS WESTERN CAPE STAYERS Grade 3, 2800m
This is the first leg of the Pick 6 which could reach around R10 million. Top Gauteng stayer Poets Warrior has won 5 of his last 6 races and now debut's in the Cape but his biggest danger could prove to be Triple Time who was just touched off in this race last year.

RACE 5: 14:10 WINX CLASS 3, 1400m
A wide open handicap where a case can be made for many in the field and unfortunately our original choice, Solomans Seal is a scratching. There could still be some Blue Sky in the merit rating of Let It Be Said who has been runner up in the last 2 starts

RACE 6: 14:45 SABC OLYMPIC DUEL STAKES (Listed), 1200m
Another wide open race for a large field of fillies and mares and it looks very possible the bookmakers will be going 5/1 and upwards about whichever horse goes off favourite. Some of the 3 year old's have next to no weight to carry but looking at collateral form lines and the more recent runs the 4yo Summer Lilly looks as well in as any.

RACE 7: 15:20 SHKJC WORLD POOL CAPE FLYING CHAMPIONSHIP Grade 1, 1000m
A field of top sprinters including Dyce who has travelled down from the Vaal in a bid to defend the title he won last year. However he comes up against some other top guns in their best form including Gimme A Prince who drops back in trip having run very respectable races over further and he won this race 2 years ago. However at the prices preference is for Questioning who was unlucky last time over C&D and doesn't know how to run a bad race.

Race 8: 16:05 WORLD SPORTS BETTING CAPE TOWN MET (Grade 1), 2000m

The favourite Eight on Eighteen has been the subject of much talk and ante post money and understandably so after chasing home a champion in the form of One Stripe in his last 2 runs. He could be the right one but the price looks pretty skinny and the value could lie elsewhere. See It Again and to some degree Oriental Charm were below par in the Kings Plater over 1600m but could feature over the longer distance of 2000m. Red Palace has been the subject of some betting interest and only filly in the race can make use of the sex allowance and the No 1 draw.

RACE 9: 16:45 CITY OF CAPE TOWN POLITICIAN STAKES (Grade 3), 1800m
This race is for 3 year olds only and many of them are lightly raced and open to plenty of improvement. It's another open contest but the vote goes to Pinot Grigio who is well enough drawn in gate 6 and weight turnarounds in some of the collateral form lines put him right there

RACE 10: 17:20 SCHWEPPES CLASS 4, 1400m
We are looking for a huge surprise here and Scalini fits the bill. Well drawn ans a dual course and distance winner this is his peak run after gelding and he has been running in stronger company. Reported coughing last time out if the selection has a clean bill of health he looks a lively roughie for an each way play

RACE 11: 17:55 WORLD SPORTS BETTING A STAKES, 1400m
On ratings hot favourite Sno Pilot has these stone cold but he has drawn the widest gate. Lightly raced 4yo The Real Prince boasts some useful form and although he has also drawn with he can run into the first 3.

RACE 12: 18:30 WORLD SPORTS BETTING A CLASS 4, 1200m
Many thanks for sticking with us as we enter the final furlong of a marathon day. We finish up with another wide open handicap. War Chariot has been running consistently to his mark in races where the average merit rating was higher than what he meets today and let's hope Muzi Yeni can bring him home.
