Race 1
CAPTAIN JON SNOW found betting support when fourth on debut over this C&D. He was in need of that outing as he raced green and lacked a finish in the closing stages. The son of Captain Of All would have come on from the outing and with the natural improvement that is expected, he should be competitive.
NORTH POINT ran a fair race on debut over 800m on this course. It must be noted that Black Cheetah has come out and won again since. The son of William Longsword has been gelded since that outing. Should the top choice fluff his lines, he may be the one to pick up the pieces.
WINTER SNAP is an unraced son of What A Winter from the Candice Bass-Robinson stable with Aldo Domeyer in the saddle. If not in need of this outing, he should start his career on a positive note. The betting market will be the best guide with regards to him and the other first timers.
Race 2
DAWN‘S EARLY LIGHT is lightly raced with fair form lines to his credit. It must be noted that the form of his last outing has been franked. The manner in which he finishes off his races suggests that he will love the rise to 1600m. He has plenty of scope and may be the one to side with.
OKAVANGO is a stable companion of the top choice. He should have finished closer last time as he hung in the final 300m. The son of Master Of My Fate drops to the mile and if keeping on a straight line, he should be competitive.
WAR HAWK stayed on when third over this C&D last time. It must be noted that the horse that finished fourth that day has come out and won since. Corne Orffer retains the ride and the pair merit healthy respect.
Race 3
CIRCUMBENDIBUS‘ last three starts have been good. He raced from just off the pace over this C&D last time and stayed on at the finish. The son of Vercingetorix gets the blinkers fitted for the first time which should keep his mind on the task at hand. In this field, he may be the one to side with.
PERFECT IMPACT is an unraced son of Danon Platina from the Brett and James Crawford stable with Craig Zackey in the saddle. If not in need of this outing, he should start his career on a positive note. The betting market will be the best guide with regards to his chances.
TRIPPING THUNDER‘S last three starts have been fair. It must be noted that the form of his last outing has been franked. He drops to 1200m and the blinkers should sharpen him up. The son of Trippi would not be a shock winner.
Race 4
POETIC PRINCESS stayed on at the finish over 1000m on this course last time, but found one too good in the form of Casa Estiva. Aldo Domeyer retains the ride aboard the daughter of What A Winter and she can go one better.
LILY BOMB showed very good improvement when fourth over this C&D last time. She showed good speed, but tired late. The daughter of Lancaster Bomber is a progressive type and she is one of the leading contenders.
SHESGOTCLASS stayed on when third over this C&D on debut. The daughter of Querari would have gained from the experience and with the natural improvement that is expected, she should have a say in the outcome of this contest.
Race 5
HOERIKWAGGO produced a promising debut effort over this C&D. She lost a length leaving the start, but the manner in which she finished off her race that day was eye-catching. The daughter of Canford Cliffs would have gained from the experience and with the natural improvement that is expected, she should be the one to beat.
ANOTHER DREAM ran a good race on debut over 1250m at Hollywoodbets Durbanville. She returns from a 20-week break, during which time she would have strengthened up. If not in need of this outing, she may be the one to fill the exacta spot.
LHASA stayed on when third over 1000m on this course last time. She should have finished closer to the winner that day as she hung outwards in the final 300m. If keeping on a straight line, she should be involved at the finish.
Race 6
WILD APPLAUSE was running on when second over 1200m last time. She returns from a short nine-week break which may have done her the world of good. The daughter of Vercingetorix steps back up to 1400m and from her good draw of four, she may be the one to side with.
TUSCAN ROMANCE is better than her last start over 1200m. She has finished second in all three attempts over this distance. Luyolo Mxothwa steps back into the saddle and she merits healthy respect.
ENGLEFIELD GREEN has finished second in her last three starts. She moved up like a winner over 1200m last time, before getting outrun late by From A Distance. With a bit of luck from her wide draw, she should be competitive.
Race 7
FUTURE FREQUENCY has shown good improvement in each of his races to date. He was slow into stride over 1600m last time, but the manner in which he stayed on at the finish was encouraging. The son of Futura will love the rise to 1800m and from pole position, he can go one better.
BOMBERS IN THE SKY has not finished too far off the winner in recent outings. The son of Lancaster Bomber is in a good space and Chad Little may be able to coax that little bit extra out of him where it matters most.
LANDOFTHERISINGSUN over raced in the early stages of his last start over 1400m. The son of Danon Platina has good form lines to his credit and if seeing out the 1800m, he should go close to winning.
Race 8
CALL TO UNITE‘S last two starts in feature races have been fair. He set the pace over 2500m last time, but did not go on with the effort. The son of Vercingetorix has won under Craig Zackey previously. He is drawn widest of all, but he is likely to use his early gate speed to get across without using up too much energy. He is the class horse in this contest and can notch up his fourth-career victory.
ASPECT is better than his last start as he raced wide around the turn without cover. If getting his own way in front, he should be hard to peg back.
FUTURE TURN is better than his last start as the jockey reported something to be amiss in running. He has won once, finished second once and third twice from nine starts over this C&D. On his previous form, he should have a say in the outcome of this contest.
Race 9
SWIATEK finished 0.75 lengths behind LA DIVINA last time. She is 1kg better off at the weights today and there should not be much separating the pair at the finish. She is drawn awkwardly in barrier nine but Richard Fourie should give her all the necessary assistance from the saddle.
LA DIVINA set the pace over this C&D last time and found extra where it matters most. She meets a similar line-up this afternoon and can follow up.
ALLTHEBOYSIVELOVED is lightly raced with decent form lines to her credit. The daughter of Master Of My Fate will love the rise to 1400m and with luck from the widest draw, she should have a say in the outcome of this contest.
Race 10
TOUCHDOWN should have won his last start over 1600m on this course as he had no luck in running. He finished 0.2 lengths behind GENTLEMAN JOE in his penultimate run. He is 2kgs better off at the weights today and that should be enough for the tables to be turned. With a bit of luck in running, he may find himself in the winner’s enclosure.
FLY FUTURA stayed on when third over this C&D last time. Aldo Domeyer retains the ride and should the top choice fluff his lines, he may be the one to pick up the pieces.
CONTINENTALEXPRESS finished 2 lengths behind the second choice last time. He is 1.5kgs better off at the weights today and should finish closer as a result
