MOUNT ETNA has fair recent form lines to her credit. The manner in which she finishes off her races suggests that she will love the rise to 2000m. Should the top choice fluff her lines, she may be the one to pick up the pieces.

ALL RISE finished 2.75 lengths behind the second choice last time. She is 1kg better off at the weights and should finish closer as a result.

Race 2

PEAK PREDATOR showed massive improvement in his last start over this C&D. He showed signs of needing that run as he tired late. The son of Var is a progressive type and should strip much fitter. He may be the one to side with.

 SHAMPIMPI was in need of her last start over 1450m on the Turffontein Inside course. She would have come on from the run and should strip much fitter. If putting her best foot forward, she should give the males a run for their money. 

OFFICER IN COMMAND is an unraced son of Flower Alley from the Mike de Kock stable with JP van der Merwe in the saddle. If not too green in running, he should start his career on a positive note. The betting market will be the best guide with regards to him and the other first timers.

Race 3

GOCEKWITHLOVE made the expected natural improvement when second in her last start over 1450m on the Classic course. She returns from a 12-week break, during which time she would have strengthened up. The daughter of Danon Platina is progressive and in this line-up, she can go one better.

 REUNION HOTSPOT is an unraced daughter of Linngari from the Alec Laird stable with Muzi Yeni in the irons. She is related to multiple winners Battle Force and Noble City. If not too green, she should start her career on a positive note. 

BEES AND HONEY was disappointing in her last start over 1400m. It must be noted that On The Horizon has come out and won again since. If finding the form of her penultimate run, she should go close.

Race 4

NO FILTER was not disgraced when fifth in the Grade 2 Debutante last time. She has won once, finished second once and third once from as many starts on this course. The daughter of Canford Cliffs is the best weighted runner in this contest and she can return to winning ways

STORM PLAYER was an easy winner at the second time of asking. It must be noted that the horse that finished second that day has come out and won since. She is carded to race on 28 September 2023 and her progress in that race will need to be monitored.

AMERICAN GRAFFITI is better than her last start as the jockey reported something to be amiss. It must be noted that the form of that race has been franked. On best form shown, she should be involved at the finish.

Race 5

HERE IS THE TIGER is better than his last start as he was reported to be not striding out. It must be noted that the horse that finished fourth that day has come out and won since. He finished third in his only attempt over this C&D. His last victory came under Jeffrey Syster and if getting away to a clean start, he should notch up his third career victory

DUNGEONS challenged strongly in his last start, but found one too good in the form of Sage King. He is at a competitive rating and merits healthy respect. 

FULLY LOADED has finished third in his last two starts on this course. He is in a good space and with Gavin Lerena back in the saddle, he cannot be ignored. 

Race 6

SPECIAL CHARM ran on strongly when winning her last start over 2000m on this course. It must be noted that the form of that race has been franked. She takes a slight drop-in class. The daughter of Elusive Fort has no stamina issues and with the services of 1.5kgs claiming apprentice Siyanda Sosibo, she may be the one to beat.

PRINCESS KESH finished 1.3 lengths behind the top choice last time. The pair meet on the same weight terms today and she may have to settle for the same result.

AUNT PITTYPAT showed good signs of a form return last time. She carries a handy galloping mass of 52kgs and if confirming her recent improvement, she should have a say.

Race 7

NAMAQUA BLOSSOM stayed on over this C&D last time. She returns from a 13-week break which may have done her the world of good. The daughter of Flower Alley takes a drop-in class and from her good draw of two, she can return to winning ways. 

I AM REGAL fought hard in her last start over 1600m, but found one too good in the form of Key Element. The daughter of Canford Cliffs always gives of her best and is one of the leading contenders.

LADY CALAVERA finished 2.65 lengths behind the second selection last time. She is 1.5kgs better off at the weights today and should finish closer as a result.

Race 8

ZIYASHA should have won his last start over this distance on the Turffontein Inside course. It must be noted that the horse that finished fourth that day has come out and won since. Apprentice Siyanda Sosibo takes the 1.5kgs off his back and if all goes according to plan, he can go one better. 

COVERT OPERATOR fought hard for his last victory over this distance on the Classic course. It must be noted that the horse that finished second that day has come out and won since. All five of his career victories have come over this distance and he must be included in all bets. 

BROSNAN quickened up well at the 200m mark in his last start over this distance on the Classic course. The blinkers have done the trick and he can follow up
