MC DAZZLER is the stable companion of the top choice. He showed pace over this C&D last time, but was caught late by Record High. He is the stable elect with Craig Zackey aboard and merits healthy respect.
MR HOTSTEPPER ran a fair race on debut behind Grade 2 winner Cats Pajamas. He returns from a 26-week break, during which time he would have strengthened up. If not in need of this outing, he would not be a shock winner.
Race 2
ART NOUVEAU ran a fair race at the second time of asking over 1400m on this course. The daughter of Querari should love the rise to 1700m. She is a progressive type and in this field, she may find herself in the winner’s enclosure.
PERFECTLY PICKED is better than her last start over 2000m on the turf. She finished third in her previous two efforts. She jumps from pole position and should the top choice fluff her lines, she may be the one to pick up the pieces.
SASCHA‘S DREAM was in need of her debut effort over 1200m at Hollywoodbets Scottsville. She takes a big rise in distance and if not too green around the turn, she can finish in the placings.
Race 3
ENGLISH PRIMROSE has finished second in her last two starts. She raced from a handy position over this C&D last time, but found one too good in the form of Doctor’s Orders. The cheekpieces have done the trick on the daughter of Flower Alley. With luck in running, she may be rewarded for consistency.
CANFORD QUEEN lacked extra late when fourth over 1900m last time. She gets the services of 4kgs claiming apprentice Damyan Pillay which will assist her cause. She jumps from a good draw of two and is one of the leading contenders.
OFF LIMITS has been campaigning against stronger company in recent outings. She won her only attempt over this C&D. The daughter of William Longsword has dropped to a competitive rating and she should be involved at the finish.
Race 4
ALLAROUNDTHEWORLD set the pace over 2300m on the turf last time and stayed on to finish fifth. The 6yo gelding will be ideally suited to this distance and he will enjoy the return to the polytrack. Calvin Habib retains the ride and if getting his own way in front, he can return to winning ways.
LUCRETIUS won his last start easier than the official margin suggests. He is yet to win from eight starts over this distance. Craig Zackey retains the ride and if jumping on terms, he can follow up.
CIRCLE OF GRACE is better than his last start over this distance on the Turffontein Inside course. He has won twice and finished third once from as many starts on this course. Improvement is expected.
Race 5
KHANYISA INDLELA should have finished closer to the winner last time as he hung outwards in the final 400m. He has won once and finished third once from four starts over this C&D. He will strip a much fitter horse and if keeping on a straight line, he can notch up his fifth-career victory.
BOM BOM is much better than his last start suggests. His last victory came over this C&D. Rachel Venniker takes the 1.5kgs off his back and from pole position, he should pose a threat.
LANDSEER fought hard for his maiden victory over this distance on the turf. He takes on stronger, but has plenty of scope and should be up to the task at hand.
Race 6
INGQWELE ran a good race when third in his first run as a gelding. He would have come on from the run and should strip much fitter. He meets the right field and if taking to the polytrack, he should take a power of beating.
POLICY OF TRUTH showed good improvement when second over 1800m on this course last time. He set the pace but found one too good in the form of Field Marshal. If confirming his recent improvement, he should be hard to peg back.
SWEEPER KEEPER stayed on when fourth over 1400m on this course last time. He is having his peak run today and should be cherry-ripe. The son of Querari should earn another cheque for his patrons.
Race 7
HEIRLOOM stayed on at the finish over this distance on the Turffontein Inside course last time but found one too good in the form of Nettleton. It must be noted that the horse that finished third that day has come out and won since. She takes a slight drop in class and can return to winning ways.
AVERNIAN GODDESS is lightly raced with good form lines to her credit. She won her maiden over this C&D, three runs ago. The daughter of Vercingetorix merits healthy respect.
MILLION VOICES has produced two good runs since winning her maiden. She is having her peak run today and should be cherry-ripe. From her good draw of two, she may be hard to peg back.
Race 8
STARS IN HEAVEN stayed on when fourth over this distance at Hollywoodbets Scottsville last time. It must be noted that the form of that race has been franked. He is having his peak run today and should be cherry-ripe. With a bit of luck from his awkward draw of eight, he can return to winning ways.
KALAHARI ROLLER was running on when second over 1000m on this course last time. His penultimate run when fifth behind Rosh Kedesh over this distance, catches the eye. The son of New Predator has ability and he should fight out the finish.
