SERENDIPITOUS has run two fair races to date. The daughter of Captain Of All is a progressive type and with a handy galloping mass of 55kgs, she should give the males a run for their money.
MY BEST SHOT is an unraced son of Fire Away from the Alan Greeff stable with Richard Fourie in the saddle. He is related to three-time winner Questor. If not in need of this outing, he should start his career on a positive note. The betting market will be the best guide with regards to him and the other first timers.
RACE 2
VENETIAN MOONLIGHT showed improvement in her local debut over 1400m on this course. She raced from a handy position, but did not go on with the effort. The drop to 1200m will suit her well. The daughter of Lancaster Bomber meets the right field today and she may be the one to side with.
SUNSET ROAR’S last two starts have been fair. The blinkers seem to have done the trick and she may be hard to catch under Marco van Rensburg.
GLOBAL LADY is an unraced daughter of Global View from the Alan Greeff yard with Richard Fourie in the saddle. She is related to multiple winners including Bold Respect and Super Silvano. If not in need of this outing, she should start her career on a positive note. The betting market will be the best guide with regards to her chances.
RACE 3
RAPTOR ISLAND has consistent form lines to his credit. He showed good speed in a work riders race last time, fought hard but found one too good in the form of Miraculous Man. He has finished second once and third twice from as many starts over this C&D. He gets the services of 2.5kgs claiming apprentice Kobeli Lihaba and may find himself in the winner’s enclosure.
WAR SWORD finished 1.5 lengths behind the top choice last time. He is 2.5kgs worse off at the weights and may battle to turn the form around.
PUERTO PLATA is having his first run for the Alan Greeff stable. He may be at his best over further but on best form shown, he can feature.
RACE 4
OFFICIAL SECRET was an easy winner of her last start over this C&D, against male company. She quickened up well, took the lead at the 300m mark and won with a ton in hand. She does meet stronger this afternoon, but is in a good space and can follow up.
CRIMSON PRINCESS is having her first run for the Alan Greeff stable. It must be noted that the form of her last outing has been franked. If settled into her new surroundings, she should show improvement.
MEDLERS TART is better than her recent form suggests. She has won twice and finished third once from seven starts on this course. Her best form has been under Luyolo Mxothwa and she can finish in the placings.
Race 5
CHARLIE MALONE finished 0.25 lengths behind GUERRA last time. He is 2kgs better off at the weights today and that should be enough for the tables to be turned. If getting away to a clean start, he can notch up his third-career victory.
GUERRA ran on well when second over this C&D last time. It must be noted that the form of that race has been franked. He will strip a much fitter horse today and from his good draw of three, he should pose a threat.
SINGLE FILE ran a fair race in his post maiden effort over 1400m on this course. He gets the services of 2.5kgs claiming apprentice Kobeli Lihaba which will assist him cause. From pole position, he should finish in the money.
Race 6
GIDEON’S DAUGHTER followed up her maiden win with an equally impressive victory over this distance on the polytrack. She quickened up well and drew clear of the opposition that day. The daughter of Skitt Skizzle is in a good space and if suited to this course, she can notch up the hat-trick.
AMAZING COLOURS finished 2.25 lengths behind the top choice last time. She is 1kg better off at the weights today and should finish closer as a result.
UNITED EXPRESS is a winner of her last two starts under Richard Fourie. She received a four-pound penalty for her last victory over 1400m on this course. She is likely to race on the speed and may be hard to peg back.
RACE 7
WARM WINTER NITE should have finished closer to the winner last time as he was held up for a run at the 200m mark. He has finished third twice from three starts over this distance. The son of What A Winter is having his first run for the Cliffie Miller stable. He gets a change of headgear and with luck in running, he can notch up his second-career victory.
GRADUATION TIME finished 0.1 lengths behind FIERY DUKE last time. He is 2.5kgs better off at the weights today and that should be enough for the tables to be turned. Should the top choice fluff his lines, he may be the one to pick up the pieces.
FIERY DUKE won a game race in his last start over this C&D. He is in a good space and merits healthy respect.
