Race 1
FREEDOM SQUARE set the pace over this C&D last time, fought hard but found one too good in the form of Flower Festival. The tongue-tie seems to have done the trick on the daughter of Rafeef. She is drawn well in barrier four and may be hard to peg back.
DAME MAZONA has shown improvement in each of her outings to date. The daughter of Querari drops to the 1400m and the blinkers will sharpen her up. Should the top choice fluff her lines, she may be the one to pick up the pieces
LADY GREENSLEEVES‘ last two starts over this distance have been decent. She has cracked a good draw of three and can earn another cheque.
Race 2
VIBE SA showed the expected natural improvement when second in the Non-Black Type Clifton Stud KZN Breeders Juvenile Plate. The manner in which he finished off his race that day suggests that he will love the rise to 1400m. The son of Just As Well is a progressive type and can go one better.
PALACE REVOLT ran a fair race in the Non-Black Type Farm Sale Stakes last time. The son of Potala Palace tries the 1400m for the first time and if seeing out the extra distance on offer, he should be one of the leading contenders.
DYNALLEY stayed on strongly when third over 1200m at Hollywoodbets Greyville last time. The son of Flower Alley will love the rise to 1400m. With a bit of luck from his awkward draw of nine, he should feature.
Race 3
TICKALOX showed good improvement in his last start over 1400m at Hollywoodbets Greyville. He set the pace that day, but was outrun late by Oshakati. It is encouraging that Gavin Lerena keeps faith in the ride and in this type of field, he may be the one to beat.
JET BUND stayed on when third over this C&D last time. It must be noted that the horse that finished second that day has come out and won since. The blinkers seem to have done the trick and he is one of the leading contenders.
GLOBAL RULER ran a fair race in his comeback run over 1400m on the Hollywoodbets Greyville polytrack. He would have come on from the run and should strip much fitter. Muzi Yeni takes the ride and he may have more to come
Race 4
BANZAI PIPELINE did not settle in the early stages of his last start over 1950m on this course, but the manner in which he stayed on at the finish was encouraging. He is having his peak run today and should be cherry-ripe. The 6yo gelding takes a drop-in class and if apprentice Siphesihle Hlengwa is able to switch him off early, he can return to winning ways.
ARVERNI KING has not finished too far off the winner recently. He has won once, finished second twice and third three times from eight starts on this course. The blinkers have been re-fitted and he should be competitive.
QUANTIFIER raced from a handy position over 2600m last time, but found one too good in the form of Professor Snape. It must be noted that the form of that race has been franked. With a bit of luck in running, he should fight out the finish.
Race 5
COIN SPINNER stayed on at the finish when third over 1200m on this course last time. He has won twice, finished second once and third twice from seven starts on this course. Apprentice Kobeli Lihaba takes the 4kgs off his back which will help his cause. The son of William Longsword can notch up his sixth career victory.
RULERSHIP‘S last two starts have been decent. He has won three times, finished second once and third twice from eight starts over this distance. He will be racing on the speed and may be hard to peg back.
DONQUERARI stayed on strongly when fourth over this C&D last time. He takes a rise in class, but carries a handy galloping mass of 52.5kgs and should be up to the task at hand.
Race 6
KITTEN‘S ADVENTURE is much better than her last start over 1400m on the polytrack as she raced wide around the turn and had to use up too much energy in the early stages. It must be noted that the form of that race has been franked. She has won once, finished second once and third once from six starts over this C&D. If putting her best foot forward, she can notch up her third career victory.
CINNAMON BLUSH won a game race in her last start over this C&D. She showed good pace and kept finding all the way to the line. She is in a good space and merits healthy respect.
JADE‘S CABERNEIGH stayed on when sixth in her post maiden effort over 1000m on the Hollywoodbets Greyville polytrack. She should have no issues with the step up to 1200m and must be included in all bets.
Race 7
CAPTAIN CASEY ran a fair race in the Non-Black Type KZN Breeders Mile last time. His form prior to that outing was good. The son of Captain Of All is having his peak run today and Gavin Lerena may be able to coax that little bit extra out of him where it matters most.
PASSAGE OF POWER set the pace over this C&D last time and stayed on at the finish. The 5yo gelding is in a good space and is one of the leading contenders.
FORMAGEAR is better than his last start over 1400m on this course. He had to be eased at the 1200m mark that day. The son of Querari tries the blinkers which may do the trick. With a bit of luck in running, he should go close to winning.
Race 8
MR PIGALLE showed good signs of a form return in his last start over this C&D. He lost a length leaving the start, but the manner in which he stayed on at the finish was encouraging. He jumps from pole position and if getting away to a clean start, he may find himself in the winner’s enclosure.
MASTER JOSH followed up his maiden victory with a good fourth-place finish over 1200m. He has finished second twice from as many starts over this distance. Muzi Yeni retains the ride and the pair merit healthy respect.
POLITICAL PARTY stayed on when third over this C&D last time. He takes a slight drop- in class and will be cherry-ripe. The son of Master Of My Fate cannot be ignored
