Stage 3 of the Vuelta a España is 158.5 kilometre long and takes the riders from Súria finishing in Andorra on the top of a Category 1 climb.
STAGE 2 WRAP
Andreas Kron soloed to victory from the remnants of the peloton in stage 2 of the Vuelta after what had promised to be a battle between some of the General Classification men, ended up been nullified as the GC times were taken 9 kilometres from the end of the race and those in contention for the race win, sat up and soft pedalled to the end of the stage.
Let’s hope the rain stays away and we and we can get our first true run stage of the Vuelta.
Kaden Groves finished 2nd behind Kron, winning the sprint from the bunch with Vendrame in 3rd.
JERSEY UPDATE
Andrea Piccolo from EF Education currently leads the race by 11 seconds from Javier Romo Oliver. Jonas Vingegaard remains the outright favourite at even money to win the race ahead of his teammate, Roglic at 9/4. Remco Evenepoel is 7/2 with Ayuso 9/1 and you can get 14/1 and better the balance.

THE ROUTE
While this stage is short it is very tough especially for so early in a Grand Tour. The first half of the stage could be described as lumpy with no categorised climbs, but in the second-half of the race riders have to face the category 1 Coll d’Ordino which is 17.3 kilometres at 7.7%. The final climb Arinsal.Andorra is 8.3 kilometres at 8.7% and whether or not they are fighting for the stage General Classification action is basically guaranteed.

PREDICTION
What is going to be interesting here is what sort of breakaway will get away and whether or not it is allowed to stay clear to contest this stage. EF Education may well try and keep it in check, but realistically they know there is very little chance of Piccolo retaining the jersey. Jumbo-Visma could chase it down and set up a stage win for Roglic or even Vingegaard, but it is questionable whether they want to get control of the race this early on.
I am leaning towards the break here and am backing 2 strong climbers that I hope will get into it.
Suggested Bet: Storer win at 25/1
