WSB Logo Orange 80x80After a thrilling week at the Olympics the PGA Tour returns for the Wyndham Championship at the Sedgefield Country Club in Greenboro North Carolina.

This will be the final qualifying event for the PGA Tour season before we head to the FedEx Cup Play-Offs in Memphis next week.

We will take a look at this week’s golf from a betting angle and make a few suggested bets.

Course

Sedgefield Country Club will play host to this week’s tournament and the golfers take on the Ross Course. The parkland course which is located just outside of Greensboro city centre has been around since 1926. The course is lined with trees and only has two holes with a considerable amount of water. The par 70 is considerably short compared to modern courses but favours accuracy off the tee rather than pure power.

SELECTIONS:

Shane Lowry at 26.00

Lowry is coming off the back of a solid performance at the Olympics finishing 26th but for the calibre of player he is he will have been disappointed. He finished 6th at The Open and 9th in his previous, showing that he is playing well and that he has the potential to continue his form this weekend at a course where he has had a top 10 but he has not really fired on in recent years.

Shane Lowry each way at 26.00

Aaron Rai at 31.00

Aaron Rai has been playing really solid golf the last few weeks. He struggled in the conditions of The Open, finishing 75th however, he came into that week finishing 2nd, 7th and 4th in the previous three weeks. With a few of the top players sitting out this week, this could be the perfect opportunity for him to put in a solid performance and maybe even win the event. He will need to improve on his 2 previous appearances though where he had a MC last year and a 71st place in 2022.

Aaron Rai each way at 31.00

Sungjae Im at 13.00

There is a reason the bookies have him as favourite to win this weekend. Im has finished in the top 10 in 5 of his last 7 starts with his best finish being 3rd at the Travelers Championship. He has been on hot form and will look to continue this as he heads into this week hoping to gain as many points as possible for the FedEx Cup.

Sungjae Im to win at 13.00

Matthias Schmid at 176.00

Schmid had a solid Olympics finishing 26th and the week before he finished 12th. He was 22nd here on debut last season and that is enough to see him get the nod as this week’s long shot.

Schmid Top 10 at 15.00 and a small play to win at 176.00
