Defending Champion, Carlos Alcaraz is joint favourite at 7/4 with Jannik Sinner to win the Tournament.

Alcaraz is coming off an excellent victory in the French Open where he defeated Alexander Zverev in 5 sets to win the Title while Sinner has been in prolific winning form this year winning 4 Tournaments. His best result at Wimbledon was a semi-final last year.

Novak Djokovic is the 4/1 3rd favourite and it has been some time since we saw last year’s beaten finalist and the 7-time Champion at such a big price. This is because he had to pull out of the French Open with an injury requiring an emergency operation so his fitness must be in some doubt.

We then jump to Zverev at 14/1, but grass courts have never been his game and his best finish here was the 4th round in 2017 and 2021.

Verdict

It is tough to look past the top 2 in the betting, but I am going to throw in what I consider a value player on the Brit, Jack Draper. The 22 year old Draper recently won his first ATP Title on grass at the Stuttgart Open. It has been a long time since the locals have had a player go really deep and if Draper starts well and the public gets behind him, they may well carry him to the final stages of the tournament.

Bet: Jack Draper win at 20/1

WOMEN’S PREVIEW – click here to bet

Aryna Sabalenka is currently the ruling favourite at 11/4 ahead of French Open Champion, Iga Swiatek at 33/10. Swiatek has won no fewer than 5 Tournaments this year and has won every final she has contested. Her best finish at Wimbledon was the quarter-finals last year in 2023.

Sabalenka who has recently replaced her at the top of the betting boards impressed me in the French Open and I was disappointed when she failed to make the final. She has a big serve which is always a great weapon on grass and her best finish at Wimbledon was the semi-finals in 2021 and 2023.

Elena Rybakina has also had an excellent year and won Wimbledon in 2022. Bookies have her priced at 9/2 for glory with Coco Gauff currently trading at 6/1. Gauff doesn’t have a great Wimbledon record with the fourth round been her best result in 2019 and 2021. Naomi Osaka is double her price at 12/1. Other notable names are Ons Jabeur at 15/1, Madison Keys at 25/1 and defending Champion, Marketa Vondrousova is priced at 14/1.

Verdict

I like the big servicing Sabalenka to do the business and she is my early play.

Bet: Sabalenka win at 11/4
