BettingDiaryThe MTN8 Cup quarter-finals take place this weekend and we take a look at each of the matches from a betting angle.

Let’s start with a look at the Outright Betting where we have Sundowns trading as 2/1 favourites ahead of Kaizer Chiefs, Pirates and Royal AM all priced at 6/1. You can get 8/1 Cape Town City and 10/1 and better the balance.

SATURDAY

Cape Town City v AmaZulu –Click here to bet

Cape Town City have made a very poor start to their League campaign, but they have come to form in recent weeks culminating in a 2-0 home win over Kaizer Chiefs in midweek. They face an AmaZulu side that made a very strong start to the season, but tasted defeat for the first time last time out losing 1-0 at home to Golden Arrows, a result which leaves them 3rd on the table. These sides met a couple of weeks ago in the PSL with AmaZulu winning 2-1 at home.

The Exotic Markets haven’t been priced up at the time of writing, but I think we could get goals in this one and the Over 2.5 goals is my play.

Suggested Bet: Over 2.5 goals at PRICE TO FOLLOW

Royal AM v Orlando Pirates – Click here to bet

Royal AM are currently sitting 4th on the PSL log, 1 point and 3 positions behind top of the table, Orlando Pirates. They beat Maritzburg 1-0 at home in their last start, but did play against Pirates in mid-August losing 1-0 at home. Pirates have only lost one match in the League this season, last time out they beat Marumo Gallants 1-0 at home.

I am also going to be looking to the goals market for an interest in this game and goals have certainly been in short supply in Pirates matches with 5 of the 6 League games failing to reach the 2 goal mark.

Suggested Bet: Under 1.5 goals at PRICE TO FOLLOW

SUNDAY

Stellenbosch v Kaizer Chiefs – Click here to bet

These sides are both on 6 points after 5 matches in the PSL and Stellenbosch are coming off a 3-0 away loss to Mamelodi Sundowns, their first League defeat of the season. Chiefs went down 4-0 to Sundowns a couple of matches back and in their last start they lost 2-0 away at Cape Town City.

I think this is going to be a very tight contest and will back the 90 minute draw.

Suggested Bet: The draw at 21/10

Mamelodi Sundowns v SuperSport United – Click here to bet

Sundowns are currently 2nd on the PSL log, 1 point behind Pirates, but with a game in hand. SuperSport United are 14th on the log, but got their first win of the season last time out when they beat Richards Bay 1-0 on the road. Sundown’s last game was a 3-0 home win over Stellenbosch.

Sundowns have dominated the Pretoria Derby in recent seasons, but the last time they lost to SuperSport United was in the MTN8 Cup back in 2019.

Sundowns haven't been at their best, but they still have been winning matches and I think they can beat SuperSport United a side who looks a bit off the pace so far this season.

Suggested Bet: Sundowns win at 9/10
