MANCHESTER CITY v MANCHESTER UNITED – Click here to bet

Manchester City are currently 2nd on the log, 1 point behind Arsenal after 7 matches. They have won 5 and drawn 2 of their games and last time out beat Wolves 3-0 on the road. They have won all 3 of their home matches this season, scoring 14 goals while conceding just 2 and Manchester City matches this season averaged just over 4 goals a game in total.

Manchester United have climbed to 5th on the table after a slow start to the season and have won their last 4 games in a row, most recently beating Arsenal 3-1 at home. Their last two away games were 1-0 victories over Leicester and Southampton and on the road this season Manchester United have won 2 and lost 1, scoring 2 goals and conceding 4.

Manchester City dominated this fixture last season winning 4-1 at home and 2-0 on the road, but Manchester United have won here in 2 of their last 3 visits.

Manchester City are deservedly short priced favourites here at around the 4/11 mark and although United have shown improvement I think their neighbours are going to be too strong and I will back City to win by more than a goal, a result which arrived in both matches last season as well as in all 3 of their home matches this season.

Suggested Bet: Handicap, Manchester City -1.5 goals at 10/11

LEEDS v ASTON VILLA – Click here to bet

Leeds are currently 11th on the log on 8 points from 6 matches, but they have only won of their last 5 and last time out were hammered 5-2 at Brentford. Their last home game was a 1-1 draw with Everton and overall at home this season they have won 2 and lost 1 of their 3 matches. Leeds 6 EPL games have averaged 3.3 goals each this season and they have scored 10 goals and conceded 10.

Aston Villa are 15th on the table and they claimed their second victory of the season last time out when they beat Southampton 1-0 at home. That broke a run of 4 matches during which time they only got 1 point. Looking at their form away from home they were beaten 2 -1 at Arsenal and 3-1 at Crystal Palace and have yet to get a point on their travels this season.

Aston Villa matches have been amongst the lowest scoring in the division averaging 2.3 goals each and had you been backing under 2.5 goals in each of the games you would have collected profits in 4 of the 7 matches.

Aston Villa won this fixture 3-0 last season and the sides played to a 3-3 draw in the reverse fixture at Aston Villa. There may be some value in backing Aston Villa to win at just shy of the 2-1 mark, but in the end I am going to settle on over 2.5 goals, a bet which would have arrived in 3 of the last 4 head-to-heads between the sides.

Suggested Bet: Over 2.5 goals at 15/20
