The FedEx Cup playoffs get going this week with the Northern Trust taking place at the Liberty National Golf Club in New Jersey. We select 4 players to take on the bookmakers.
Liberty National is a par 71 layout which tends to favour those who can drive it far, but also accurately as opposed to those that just bomb it anywhere off the tee. The course has undergone significant changes over the years and the smallish greens is one of the reasons why position off the tee is so important. Wind can certainly be a factor at the course, but not much is expected this week.
Jon Rahm heads the betting at 10/1 with Jordan Spieth 16/1, Dustin Johnson 18/1 alongside Collin Morikawa and you can get 20/1 and better the balance.

SUGGESTED BETS:
Dustin Johnson each way at 18/1
Johnson won this event in 2020 although it was played at the TPC Boston, he featured here in the Presidents Cup where he enjoyed great success in 2017 and led here in 2019 before fading over the weekend.
Rory Mcilroy each way at 22/1
Rory tends to rise to the occasion when it comes to the FedEx Cup and he won it in 2016 and 2019 and he has had numerous Top 10’s along the way. While he is certain to go through to the next round he currently sits 26th in the standings and has some work to do if he wants to win it this year. He has been playing some consistently good golf of late and he looks ready to challenge for a win.
Sergio Garcia each way at 90/1
Garcia has been playing some good golf without really challenging the top end of the leader board, but this week he also has the extra motivation of catching Ryder Cup, Captain Harrington’s eye with the Captains Picks due to be finalised. Garcia has always been known for his shot making and I expect him to go well at this course.
Joaquin Niemann each way at 55/1
This guy has been knocking on the door on many occasions and has lost twice in playoffs this season. He finished 30th on this course back in 2019 and has put a decent run of results together over the past few weeks including a Top 10 finish at the Olympics. Accurate off the tee he looks an ideal fit for this week at a nice price.
