Arsenal

After last week's 4-1 defeat in the title showdown with City in Manchester coupled with City's win at Fulham on Sunday the Gunners are now second on the log, 1 point behind City who also have a game in hand.

Prior to last week's loss Arsenal coughed up 2 goals leads in 2-2 draws at Liverpool and West Ham and in their most recent home game they came from 3-1 down with 2 very late goals to salvage a 3-3 draw at home to bottom of the table Southampton. Arsenal have kept just 1 clean sheet in their last 8 league games and after this they visit Newcastle before home games against Brighton and Wolves either side of a trip to Nottingham Forest.

Arsenal are now trading at 10/1 with Sportingbet to win the title this season.

Chelsea

Chelsea are without a victory in their last 6 league games and they have lost all 5 of their matches (3 in the EPL and 2 in the UCL) since Frank Lampard was appointed to take charge until the end of the season. Reports suggest Mauricio Pochettino will most likely take over next season but first they have to stop the rot in this campaign. Chelsea come into this game in twelfth position with just 39 points and they are 4/1 shots to finish in the top 10.

Recent Head to Head

The first league meeting between the sides this season took place in November at Stamford Bridge and Gabriel's second half goal gave Arsenal a 1-0 win.

Last season Chelsea won this fixture 2-0 whilst Arsenal were 4-2 winners at Stamford Bridge.

Arsenal are currently 13/20 to win the game with the draw at 29/10 and Chelsea can be backed at around 4/1

A game of 3 goals or more is priced at 8/10 and it's also 8/10 for both teams to score.

The Verdict:

Arsenal are unbeaten in London derby matches this season, winning 9 and drawing the other 2 but they have been vulnerable in defence of late and it would appear Saliba will still be absent from their back line.

Whether Chelsea can avoid another defeat has to be in plenty of doubt. Lampard's return hasn't had the desired effect and they have scored just 1 goal in their last 7 across all competitions.

I'm going to go with Jesus to score anytime for Arsenal and for additional interest, Arsenal to edge it by a single goal margin.

Bets: Anytime goalscorer Jesus at 17/10 with Sportingbet

Winning margin, Arsenal to win by exactly 1 goal at 5/2 with Sportingbet
