liverpool1819Southampton v Manchester United and Burnley v Liverpool are among four matches featured in Saturday's English Premier League betting preview.

Last week was a bit of an uphill struggle with 2 of 5 English football bets landing on Saturday and 1 of 2 on Sunday although a draw pick in the Absa Premiership clash between Kaizer Chiefs and Supersport softened the blow.

Let's begin with a look at Saturday's EPL match results total goals coupon from Sportingbet.

Southampton v Manchester United

Southampton opened their points account with a 2-0 victory away to Brighton last week, a task that was made a touch easier when their opponents were reduced to 10 men in the first half. Despite that win Southmapton are third from bottom after defeats in their first two matches, 3-0 at Burnley and 2-1 at home to Liverpool.

United were on the wrong end of a shock result last week as they went down 2-1 at home to Crystal Palace. United also missed a penalty in that game and they come into the weekend with 4 points after a comfortable 4-0 home win over Chelsea and a 1-1 draw at Wolves, a game where they also missed from the penalty spot.

Southampton played well in the home defeat to Liverpool and after getting off the mark last week they could be a handful here although the absence of the injured Redond is a blow.

I'll take a chance with over 2.5 goals given Southampton usually find the net at home and United, for all their problems with penalty taking, have ground to make up after last week's surprise defeat.

West Ham v Norwich

West Ham chalked up their first win of the season at the third time of asking when they came away from struggling Watford with a 3-1 win last week. Mark Noble gave them an early lead and although Watford were quickly level, two second half goals from new striker Sebastien Haller saw the Hammers clinch maximum points. In earlier results West Ham crashed to a 5-0 home defeat to Manchester City on the opening weekend before drawing 1-1 at Brighton where Chicharito (Hernández ) opened the scoring.

Norwich are one point behind West Ham with a record of one win and two defeats and we have seen plenty of goals in their early season matches. Last week they lost 3-2 at home to Chelsea whilst their only win came a round earlier, 3-1 at home to Newcastle. In Norwich's only road trip so far they were thrashed 4-1 by Liverpool. If you fancy Noriwch to score first then Teemu Pukki is the logical choice given he has bagged five of their six goals so far.

I fancy West Ham can build on last weeke's win.

Leicester v Bournemouth

Leicester moved into the top four after a 2-1 win at Sheffield United last week. They are unbeaten with five points after starting with a 0-0 draw at home to Wolves and 1-1 draw at Chelsea.

Bournemouth were beaten 3-1 at home by Manchester City last week but they did have four points from two earlier matches against newly promoted sides, a 1-1 draw with Sehffield United and a 2-1 win at Aston Villa.

I fancy goals but perhaps not a bucket load and 2-3 in total is where I'm heading.

Burnley v Liverpool

Burnley have made a solid enough start to the season although a much changed side were humbled by League 1 Sunderland in the EFL Cup in midweek. Their only home game so far delivered a 3-0 win over Southampton and they subsequently gave Arsenal a headache or two despite losing 2-1 at The Emirates. Last week Burnley were pegged back late on at Wolves for a 1-1 draw. Ashley Barnes has scored four of Burnley's five league goals so far.

Liverpool are the only team to boast a 100% record and they saw off Arsenal pretty comfortably last week with Mo Salah adding a brace after Matip had headed them in front. In earlier results a 4-1 home win over Norwich was followed by a hard earned 2-1 victory away to Southampton. Salah is Liverpool's leading scorer with three league goals, Firmino and Mane are among those with one.

Burnley will work their socks off but Liverpool are hard to oppose and a Liverpool win in a game of three goals or more has been the way to go in the early stages of the season.

Saturday's bets:

Southampton v Man United over 2.5 goals at 0.93/1.

West Ham to win at 0.87/1

Leicester v Bournemouth Total match goals 2-3 at 11/10

Burnley v Liverpool Away win and over 2.5 total match goals at 15/20

Note all odds are subject to change.
