football.psgThe second leg of the Uefa Champions League semi final between PSG and Dortmund takes place on Tuesday and the German side lead 1-0 on aggregate.

PSG

The first leg took place in Dortmund last week and PSG went down 1-0. Kylian Mbappe and Achraf Hakimi both hit the woodwork in the second half but there was no way through. Only 7 corners were awarded, 4 to Dortmund, 3 to PSG and Dortmund picked up 2 yellow cards to 1 for PSG.

PSG came from behind to win their quarter final match up with Barcelona 6-4 on aggregate. They lost the first lg in Paris 3-2 and when they conceded first in the return it looked like curtains. However Barca were then reduced to 10 men and Mbappe scored 2 of their goals on the night in a 4-1 victory.

PSG won both legs of their R016 match up with Real Sociedad, 2-0 at home and then 2-1 away and Mbappe scored 3 of those 4 goals.

PSG squeezed through as runners up to Dortmund in the group stage, edging out AC Milan with Newcastle fourth. They won their first two home matches against Dortmund (2-0) and AC Milan (3-0) and they scraped a 1-1 draw with Newcastle in Paris. Away form was very poor with defeats in Newcastle (4-1) and Milan (2-1) but a 1-1 draw in Dortmund on Matchday 6 helped them shade AC Milan for second spot.

In Ligue 1 PSG had last weekend off and they have lost just 1 of 31 matches and have already sealed the title.

Dortmund

Niclas Fullkrug scored the only goal of the first leg against PSG and missed a great chance to add a second and they now set about the task of defending their lead.

Dortmund sealed a semi final spot with an epic 5-4 aggregate win over Atletico. They lost the first leg in Madrid 2-1 but turned things around in the return, taking a 2-0 half time lead before Atletico hit back with early goals after the break only for Dortmund to come back with 2 more goals of their own to win 4-2 on the night.

Dortmund came through their Round of 16 clash with PSV with a 3-1 aggregate win. They drew the first leg away from home 1-1 and then scored early and late for a 2-0 home win in the return.

In the group stage Dortmund were drawn along side PSG in the toughest of groups. They recovered from losing to this opposition 2-0 away from home with a 0-0 draw at home to Milan and then 3 straight wins before a 1-1 draw at home to PSG on Matchday 6 saw them top the group of death.

In the Bundesliga Dortmund were 5-1 winners at home to Augsburg and they are well clear in fifth in the standings. As Germany now has 5 qualifying spots their qualification for the UCL is now confirmed.

The Betting

PSG are 5/10 to win the second leg with the draw at 36/10 and Dortmund are 4.75/1

A games of 3 goals or more is priced at ??? and it's ??? for both teams to score

Above markets are for regulation time

To qualify for the final via any method PSG are 6/10 and Dortmund 12/10

The Verdict:

I'm going to take the view this could open up in the second half and will go with over 1.5 goals after the break.
