Leeds 9/2 Draw 32/10 Chelsea 6/10

After a 2-1 home win over Wolves and a 2-2 draw at Southampton Leeds come into their biggest test of the season so far unbeaten. Rodrigo has scored 3 of their 4 goals and Leeds will feel they ought to have maximum points as after leading 2-0 at Southampton last week they conceded twice in the last 20 minutes.

Chelsea also have 4 points, opening up with a solid but unspectacular 1-0 win at Everton last weekend courtesy of a Jorginho penalty and following up with a 2-2 draw at home to Spurs. They led twice against Spurs and would have been value for the win had they not conceded in injury time.

Verdict:

There was plenty to like about Chelsea's display last weekend and they continue to be active in the transfer market and linked with a whole host of big money moves. One gap that still requires filling at the time of writing is the central strikers role. Havertz missed a sitter against Spurs but if given another outing leading the line I can see him popping up with a goal in a Chelsea win with a clean sheet.

Newcastle 7/1 Draw 4/1 Manchester City 4/10

Newcastle finished the second round of matches as another team on 4 points. Goals from Schar and Wilson in the second half of their opening match at home to Nottingham Forest ensured a winning start and last weekend they came away from Brighton with a 0-0 draw.

City (and Arsenal who visit Bournemouth on Saturday) have maximum points. A 2-0 win away to West Ham (Haaland brace) was followed by a 4-0 home win over Bournemouth where Gundogan, De Bruyne and Foden were the scorers in addition to an own goal.

Verdict:

City won 4-0 here last season and 4-3 the season before. Newcastle will be well up for this but they way City have started I find it difficult to make a case for a surprise.
