VillaThree English Premier League matches take place on Sunday when Aston Villa host West Ham, Newcastle visit Wolves and Spurs go to Nottingham Forest

Aston Villa 12/10 Draw 24/10 West Ham 22/10

Villa's only points so far came from their 2-1 home win over Everton. They were bitterly disappointing in a 2-0 defeat at Bournemouth on the opening weekend and last time out they were again second best in going down 3-1 at Crystal Palace.

West Ham come into the game bottom of the standings and the only team yet to earn a point. Home defeats to Manchester City and Brighton (both 2-0) and a 1-0 loss at Forest mean they have yet to score a league goal although they did progress to the Europa League group stage in midweek with a 3-0 win at Viborg

Verdict:

Villa have been disappointing so far and the same goes for West Ham although the visitors were desperately unlucky to lose their only away fixture at Forest. I can see West Ham breaking their goal scoring duck against a side who have yet to keep a clean sheet.

Both coaches need a win but the form of their respective sides isn't strong enough to make a case for either to come out on top. I'm looking for goals, hopefully 3 or more.

John McGinn is a speculative any time goalscorer pick.

Bets: Total goals over 2.5 at 8/10

Wolves 1.65/1 Draw 22/10 Newcastle 17/10

Wolves have just a single point against their name which was earned in a 0-0 draw at home to Fulham (who missed a penalty). They lost 2-1 at Leeds first time out and went down 1-0 at Spurs last weekend.

Newcastle are unbeaten and for much of last weekend's home fixture against Manchester City they looked like springing a surprise but the game eventually ended in a 3-3 draw. They also drew their only road trip 0-0 at Brighton and a 2-0 home win over Forest on the opening weekend means they are unbeaten with 5 points from 3 matches.

Verdict:

Wolves played well at Spurs and also had Jimenez returning off the bench for hist first appearance of the season. They still look short of fire power though and this match up with unbeaten Newcastle looks a tricky call.

This one is my weekend “draw” pick.

Nottingham Forest 5.75/1 Draw 7/2 Spurs 9/20

Forest were on course for maximum points away at Everton last weekend but they conceded an 88th minute equalizer in a 1-1 draw. They rode their luck to beat West Ham 1-0 in their only home game so far and 4 points from 3 matches is a decent enough return after winning promotion last season.

Spurs are unbeaten and after Harry Kane's winner at home to Wolves they finished last week as 1 of 4 clubs on 7 points, 2 behind the early pace setters Arsenal. They also beat Southampton 4-1 in an earlier home fixture and in their only road trip so far they twice came from behind to draw 2-2 at Chelsea.

Verdict:

Forest continue to be busy in the transfer market and their revamped and expensively assembled squad might still need a few weeks to settle in. Spurs were second best at Chelsea but still claimed a point and they have done little wrong so far.

I think Spurs will have too much for Forest and win a game of 3 goals or more in total.

Perisic has impressed in Spurs last 2 matches and he gets my vote to pop up any time.

Bets: Spurs to win and over 2.5 total goals? (yes) at 11/10

Anytime goalscorer Perisic at 7/2
