Liverpool

Liverpool were 2-0 winners at home to Wolves in midweek, a fourth successive clean sheet following a 0-0 draw at Palace and 2-0 wins at Newcastle and at home to Everton and they come into the weekend in sixth spot.

They have reduced the gap to fourth placed Spurs to 6 points and Liverpool still have a game in hand on the London side. Fifth placed Newcastle are 2 points better off than Liverpool having played 1 game fewer and they visit Manchester City a day before this game takes place.

Liverpool were thumped 5-2 at home to Real Madrid in the first leg of their UCL clash and barring a miraculous comeback, a top 4 finish in the league is their sole remaining aim.

Liverpool are trading at 1.75/1 to finish in the top 4 this season.

Man United:

United banked the EFL Cup last weekend with a 2-0 win over Newcastle at Wembley. In midweek they were 3-1 winners at home to West Ham in the FA Cup to reach the last 8 and given they are also in the Europe League knockout rounds they are challenging on all fronts in terms of silverware.

Focus returns to league action and United come into this round of matches in third spot, 6 points behind City and 11 shy of Arsenal, both of whom are in action on Saturday. Their only league defeat in the last 11 league games came 3-2 at Arsenal in January.

United are trading at 12/1 to win the title this season.

Recent Head to Head

The first league meeting between the sides this season took place in August at Old Trafford and United won 2-1 with goals in each half from Sancho and Rashford before Mo Salah scored what proved to be a consolation.

Last season Liverpool won 5-0 at Old Trafford and 4-0 at Anfield.

Liverpool are currently 1.37/1 to win the game with the draw at 26/10 and United can be backed at around 18/10

A game of 3 goals or more is priced at 0.63/1 and it's 11/20 for both teams to score.

Mo Salah is 5/1 to score the first goal and 18/10 to score any time

Rashford is 7/2 to score the first goal and 13/10 to score any time

The Verdict:

The match result looks a tricky one to call to me so I will first look to the goalscorer markets and Mo Salah is my choice to pop up anytime for the home side.

In the bookings market I'm with United to pick up more cards than Liverpool

Bets: Anytime goalscorer Mo Salah at 18/10 with Sportingbet

Cards match bet, Man United at 9/10 with Sportingbet
