Man United

United have yet to earn a point after a 2-1 home defeat to Brighton and a 4-0 hiding away to Brentford. The only goal they have scored came off a Brighton player and last week at Brentford they shipped all 4 goals in the first half. United and West Ham are the only teams with zero points and both have a -5 goal difference so defeat here would leave United rock bottom.

Casimero is reportedly arriving from Real Madrid but other transfer business to date remains up in the air and new coach Ten Hag has plenty to contend with with Ronaldo's future uncertain and off the field fan protests against the club's ownership are planned for tonight.

Liverpool

Liverpool are also looking for a first win. They had to come from behind (Diaz) to claim a 1-1 draw at home to Palace last time out, a game they finished with 10 men after Darwin Nunez picked up a red card and subsequent ban.

Liverpool had to come from behind twice to draw their opening match 2-2 away to newly promoted Fulham. After trailing 1-0 at half time Nunez came off the bench to grab the first equalizer on his first Premier League start and after falling behind again Mo Salah made it 2-2. Henderson hit the woodwork late on but it was below par stuff from Liverpool.

On the team news front Thiago, Diogo Jota and Joel Matip are on the sidelines.

Recent Head to Head

Last season Liverpool won this fixture 5-0 with Salah scoring a hat trick.

The return at Anfield saw Liverpool win 4-0 including another brace for Salah

The last 8 EPL head to heads, any venue, have produced 5 Liverpool wins and 3 draws.

United are currently 3.75/1 to win the game with the draw at 34/10 and Liverpool can be backed at 0.62/1

A game of 3 goals or more is priced at 0.47/1 and it's 11/20 for both teams to score.

Salah is 3/1 to score the first goal and 9/10 to score any time

Ronaldo is 9/2 to score the first goal and 16/10 to score any time

The Verdict:

United need to show some guts after a shocking start and Liverpool are yet to hit anything like top gear but on recent history the visitors have plenty going for them in this fixture. Throw in the home crowds planned protests and it looks set to be a very interesting night.

As far as a financial interest is concerned Luis Diaz is my idea of an any time goalscorer. I expect the home side to be aggressive in the tackle and will also take United's total yellow card count to come in at 3 or more.

Bets: Any time goal scorer Luis Diaz at 2/1 with Sportingbet
