spurs1819Our featured FA Cup fifth round tie taking place on Wednesday sees Championship high flyers Sheffield United take on Spurs

Sheffield United

Sheffield United were involved in an epic fourth round tie with National League side Wrexham. They drew the first meeting 3-3 thanks to an injury time equalizer and they scored twice in injury time in the replay in South Yorkshire to come out on top 3-1. In the third round the Blades were 2-0 winners at fellow Championship side Millwall.

Promotion to the Premiership looks a very decent possibility for Sheffield who are currently in the second of the two automatic promotion spots, 12 points behind runaway leaders Burnley but 7 points clear of third placed Middlesbrough with a game in hand.

Spurs

Spurs were 3-0 winners away to Championship side Preston in the fourth round with Son scoring 2 of those goals. In the third round a second half strike from Kane was the only goal of a home tie with League 1 side Portsmouth.

It's a busy time for Spurs and on the 8th March they will host AC Milan in the second leg of their Round of 16 Champions League clash where they need to overturn a 1-0 deficit. Big EPL games also come thick and fast and last weekend Spurs were 2-0 winners at home to Chelsea. That win kept Spurs in fourth spot, 4 points behind third placed Manchester United (who have 1 game in hand) and 4 better off than fifth placed Newcastle (who have 2 games in hand).

Sheffield United are currently 33/10 to win the game with the draw at 2.65/1 and Spurs can be backed at around 8/10

A game of 3 goals or more is priced at 7/10 and it's 0.67/1 for both teams to score.

The Verdict:

Given they are aiming for the top 4 and to stay in the Champions League this competition might not be upper most on the Spurs priority list but with some big names having tumbled out if they get through this awkward tie it gives Spurs another shout at a trophy.

Sheffield United have promotion as their top aim but I would have thought they will be well up for this and I'm looking to the anytime goalscorer markets.

Son was benched for the Chelsea game and only came on after 79 minutes which suggests to me he will start here and he gets my vote to register for Spurs.

One of Sheffield's stand out players is Sander Berge and he is a more speculative pick in the same market

Bet: Anytime goalscorer Son at 1.53/1 with Playabets

Anytime goalscorer Sander Berge at 6.86/1 with Playabets
