TOP BET

Race 4: LE GRAND ROUGE (3)
Jockey: L Hewitson - Trainer: Y Bremner

LE GRAND ROUGE expectedly competed smartly off his new merit rating as he finished a creditable 2nd behind a Cape visitor on the polytrack three weeks ago and he rather surprisingly escaped without a penalty for his exertions. The lightly raced chestnut has proven his capabilities on this course and he should take a power of beating from his favourable draw.

Race 5: BANJO BUZZ (10)
Jockey: L Mxothwa - Trainer: Y Bremner

This is a tricky contest and in the absence of a natural pacesetter the eventual dictator could profit heavily. The three-year old filly BANJO BUZZ isn't the stable elect but she could attempt to control the tempo from her good draw and she certainly has the credentials to upstage her male counterparts. The daughter of Toreador is best weighted on official ratings and her only victory came with handy tactics over this c & d in May.

Race 6: TRICIA DUPONT (2)
Jockey: JP vd Merwen  - Trainer: G Smith

TRICIA DUPONT stays well and she had an excusable last effort on the polytrack. She had smart prior form including finishing 2.25 lengths adrift of TIFFINDELL over eleven furlongs in her penultimate start despite reportedly not striding out. The bay mare now faces her conqueror on a whopping 6.5kgs better terms and she will prefer the switch to the grass. In fact, all three of her local victories have come on this track.

Race 7: TROTSKA (7)
Jockey: R Danielson  - Trainer: D Sham

TROTSKA was regarded by most as a polytrack specialist prior to his extremely creditable last effort over this c & d ten days ago. The bay gelding raced wide throughout that event after being drawn badly but he quickened smartly before staying on to finish just under two lengths adrift of similar rivals. He was returning from a short absence that day so the son of Kahal will strip fitter and he can take full advantage of escaping without a penalty.

VALUE BET

Race 2: SWASHBUCKLER (5)
Jockey: G Cheyene - Trainer: A Greef

SWASHBUCKLER will prefer the switch to the grass and he can drastically reduce the deficit with HIGHLAND SPRING. The Judpot colt has just over seven lengths to find on the latter on their recent polytrack clash. The latter has his first start on the grass in this province and he will have his fair share of supporters after some good recent form.
