Magic Tips Best Bets

Race 3: OLOYE(5)
Jockey: R Fourie  - Trainer: A Sands

OLOYE will prefer dropping to the mile after she tired late over an extra furlong recently and it is most encouraging that top rider Fourie keeps faith with the best draw daughter of Tiger Ridge.

Race 5: INGABANGABONGA(1)
Jockey: R Fourie   - Trainer: G Kotzen

INGABANGABONGA is lightly raced and she made pleasing late headway in both her mile attempts thus far, indicating that the daughter of Irish Flame will relish today's step-up to ten furlongs. She has her peak showing.

Race 6: KAPEN PRIDE(6)
Jockey: G Behr  - Trainer: D Kannemeyer

The pace should be decent despite just eight entrants contesting this competitive nine furlong event. The three-year old KAPEN PRIDE expectedly benefitted from being gelded as he produced an improved comeback effort over a mile behind highly rated sort Talk Of The Town earlier this year. Unfortunately the runner-up Milden Spell flopped badly when strangely equipped with blinkers subsequently but this son of Silvano will be fitter and he has more progress in him. His swift turn of foot is his major asset.

TOP BET

Race 7: ROSE IN BLOOM(8)
Jockey:  R Khathi - Trainer: J Ramsden

The three-year olds have dominated most of the features throughout the country over the past few months and that trend looks set to continue in this Grade 3 contest. ROSE IN BLOOM has always shown to be way above-average but she really announced herself with a smashing recent run behind the brilliant Snowdance in the Grade 1 Majorca Stakes over a mile on Met Day. The extremely well-handicapped daughter of Gimmethegreenlight is arguably better over this slightly shorter distance and she has much going for her today.

VALUE BET FOR TODAY

Race 4: MAGNIFICENT SEVEN(2)
Jockey:  C Murray -  Trainer: J Snaith

This is a most intriguing maiden contest over ten furlongs where the Spring Man c & d formline could come to the fore. MAGNIFICENT SEVEN was badly drawn and ran on from way back for 3rd that day but has nearly two lengths to find with the likely favourite MAN ABOUT TOWN who also made eye-catching late progress behind the subsequent winner last December. The pair haven't raced for ten weeks so their fitness will be severely tested but today's lacks pace which could play into the hands of the former who can dictate the tempo. His conditioner usually brings his runners back fit and well.
