Race 4: KING OF THE DELTA(3)

Magic Tips Best Bets

Race 2: GO THULI GO(8)
Jockey: Lyle HEWITSON- Trainer: Sean TARRY

GO THULI GO made smart improvement when staying on nicely for 2nd behind a decent sort on the inside course second time out. The Tarry inmate should continue to progress with racing and the switch to this standside course should suit the daughter of Brave Tin Soldier whose jockey is in very good form.

Race 3: CARMALITA(6)
Jockey:  Chase MAUJEAN - Trainer: Stanley FERREIRA

CARMALITA was fancied when she produced a highly promising debut over six furlongs at the Vaal in late June. The imported bay challenged strongly before going down narrowly that day and that formline has worked out well. She would have strengthened during the twelve week absence and should take a power of beating over this minimum distance. The newcomers could give her most cheek though and the market must be closely monitored.

TOP BET

Race 4: KING OF THE DELTA(3)
Jockey: Gavin LERENA - Trainer: Erico VERDONESE

KING OF THE DELTA has the best credentials in this opening leg of the jackpot and the son of Antonius Pius should take all the beating. He stayed on well to finish runner-up behind a highly rated and heavily supported newcomer over this c & d earlier this month.

Race 7: CATHEDRAL COUNTY(2)
Jockey:  Anthony DELPECH - Trainer: Johan A Janse VAN VUUREN

The promising and lightly raced four-year old CATHEDRAL COUNTY was impressive when he finished well to defeat the ultra-consistent ALL NIGHT FLIGHT (2.5kgs better off) on the inside circuit three weeks ago. The Trippi gelding raced wide for much of that contest but finished strongly and he has plenty more to offer despite the resultant four pound penalty. He is equally capable down the straight and can follow up. The latter will still have many supporters with the claiming apprentice engaged but has the top selection to beat once more.

VALUE BET FOR TODAY:

Race 5: PILOU(3)
Jockey: Lyle HEWITSON - Trainer: Mike & Adam AZZIE

The improving PILOU had an expected impressive last victory over this distance on the inside course and he promises plenty more. The 3rd placed entrant Dan The Lad has been victorious since which lifts the formline and this son of Western Winter could be worth following. He will love racing on this galloping track and has drawn best of all.
