Race 1

HUNTING TRIP has produced two good runs to date. She was slow into stride over 1200m last time, but showed good speed before getting outrun late by Gold Poker Game. It must be noted that the form of that race has been franked. The daughter of Trippi is a progressive type and if not too green around the turn, she should take a power of beating.

F EIGHT has finished fifth in both her career outings. It must be noted that the horse that finished fourth in her last outing has come out and won since. The daughter of Futura has plenty of scope and with a bit of luck from her wide draw of ten, she should throw out a big challenge to the top choice.

CLOUD CHASER is an unraced daughter of Silvano from the Justin Snaith stable with Muzi Yeni in the saddle. She is related to Grade 1 winner Double Superlative. If not too green, she should get her career off to a positive start. The betting market will be the best guide with regards to her chances.

Race 2

MISS GREENLIGHT has very good consistent form lines to her credit. She was running on nicely when third over 1000m on this course last time. The daughter of Gimmethegreenlight will strip a much fitter horse today and she can notch up her third career victory.

PERFECT TRUST is better than her last start suggests as she did not act in the soft going. It must be noted that the form of that race has been franked. She has won once and finished second once from as many starts over this C&D. Should the top choice fluff her lines, she may be the one to pick up the pieces.

DAUGHTER OF ZEUS stayed on when third over this distance at Hollywoodbets Kenilworth last time. She does have the early gate speed to overcome her wide draw of eight and may be hard to peg back.

Race 3

AUSSENKEHR has shown good improvement in each of his outings to date. He raced awkwardly on the turn, but the manner in which he stayed on up the straight was encouraging. He is having his peak run and should be cherry-ripe. He is a progressive type and may find himself in the winner’s enclosure.

SIR WILLIAM produced a promising debut effort when fourth over this C&D. He finished 0.2 lengths behind the top choice that day. He would have gained from the experience and with the natural improvement that is expected, he should be competitive.

NIGHT TIGER showed good improvement when fourth over 1200m at Hollywoodbets Kenilworth last time. The son of Rafeef has been gelded since that outing which may have done the trick. With a bit of luck from his wide draw of twelve, he should be involved in the fight to the finish.

Race 4

GLOBAL FORESTS is still a maiden after fourteen outings, but he has finished second in his last three starts. He set the pace over 1800m last time, but found one too good in the form of Nothingelsematters. He is in a good space and may be rewarded for consistency.

GLOBAL AVENUE should have won over 1600m last time as she hung from the 400m mark to the 200m mark. The daughter of Global View should have no issues with the step up to 2000m and if keeping on a straight line, she should be one of the leading contenders.

GUY ALEXANDER received a bump leaving the starting stalls last time, but stayed on nicely to finish second. He is having his peak run today and should be cherry-ripe. S’manga Khumalo takes the ride and he may be able to get the best out of him where it matters most.

Race 5

PORQUE TE VAS ran a fair race in her last start over this C&D. She finished 2.1 lengths behind DIFFERENT FACE last time. She is 1.5kgs better off at the weights today and should finish closer as a result. It is encouraging that Richard Fourie steps into the saddle and she should be hard to peg back.

DIFFERENT FACE has good consistent form lines to her credit. She showed good pace last time, but was caught in the shadow of the post by Sonic Burst. She jumps from a good draw of two and merits healthy respect.

MA BLACK is better than her last start suggests as she did not act in the soft going. She has won three times and finished third once from six starts over this distance. The 10-week break would have done her the world of good and she is a big runner on best form shown.

Race 6

VAN HUNKS is one of the better bets on today’s card. He set the pace over this distance at Hollywoodbets Kenilworth last time, but found one too good in the form of Night Ruler. He has won once, finished second once and third once from four starts on this course. The son of Silvano is having his peak run and with just 54kgs on his back, he can return to winning ways.

SHAVOUT has good recent form lines to his credit. It must be noted that Galactic Path has come out and won again since. He is having his first run on this course and if suited, he should throw out a big challenge to the top choice.

SUGAR MOUNTAIN won a good race in his last start over 1400m at Hollywoodbets Kenilworth. He has won once and finished third once from three starts on this course. He does have a wide draw of eleven to overcome, but gets the services of Aldo Domeyer who will give him all the necessary assistance from the saddle.

Race 7

SOMERSET MAUGHAM finished 0.3 lengths behind TOP QUALITY last time. He is 3kgs better off at the weights today and that should be enough for the tables to be turned. He has won once and finished second once from as many starts on this course. He has had the perfect preparation heading into this race and can go one better.

TOP QUALITY was given a peach of a ride when winning his last start over 1800m at Hollywoodbets Kenilworth. He finished second in his only attempt on this course. He is likely to be switched off near the rear of the field from the widest draw and will be mowing down the frontrunners.

BARATHEON has not finished too far off the winner in recent outings. He finished 0.8 lengths behind the second choice in his penultimate run and there should not be much separating the pair in the run down to the line.

Race 8

This is an exciting end to the day’s proceedings with some quality three year olds taking their place. Trainer Candice Bass-Robinson holds a strong hand in this contest and NARINA TROGON is the first selection. The well-bred son of Silvano was slow into stride on debut over 1000m, but the manner in which he finished off his race was impressive. He returns from a 13-week break, during which time he would have strengthened up. He will love the extra distance on offer and he looks to have plenty of class.

CHARLES DICKENS was ultra-impressive when winning the Listed Somerset 1200. He showed a good turn of foot that day and from pole position, he can keep his unbeaten record intact.

DAVE THE KING has won both his career outings with ease. He showed good speed over 1200m last time, found another kick and drew clear of the opposition. He has plenty of ability and should fight out the finish
