Race 1

FLEETING finished 0.75 lengths behind PERFECT TRUST last time. She is 1.5kgs better off at the weights today and that should be enough for the tables to be turned. She finished 1.25 lengths behind PEUT ETRE MOI in her penultimate effort and is 4kgs better off at the weights. That should be enough to turn the form around. She is having her peak run today and will be cherry-ripe. Keagan de Melo takes the ride and he may be able to get the best out of her.

PEUT ETRE MOI ran a good race when third in her comeback run over this C&D last time. She will strip a much fitter horse and should the top choice fluff her lines, she may be the one to pick up the pieces.

ACADEMIC GOLD has good recent form lines to her credit. She has won twice and finished third once from six starts over this distance. Her best form has been under Grant van Niekerk and the pair merit healthy respect.

Race 2

READY OR NOT ran a decent race in his last start over this distance on the Hollywoodbets Greyville Polytrack. He raced from a handy position, but found one too good in the form of Dowser. He would have strengthened up during his time off the track. The son of Rafeef has ability and if suited to the left-hand turn, he can shed his maiden tag.

NEVADA KING challenged strongly when second over this C&D last time. He has another wide draw to contend with, but Richard Fourie is likely to use his early gate speed to get across without using up too much energy.

PROFESSOR SNAPE has produced two good second-place finishes to date. He returns from an 11-week break, during which time he was gelded. If not in need of the run, he should be involved in the fight to the finish.

Race 3

RAFEEF’S CHOICE is the best bet on the programme. She stayed on at the finish over 1400m last time, but found one too good in the form of Fur Baby. The daughter of Rafeef should love the rise to the mile. She meets the right field and with Grant van Niekerk back in the saddle, she should take a power of beating.

SENHORA VICTORIA may not have seen out the 1800m last time. Her penultimate run when finishing second over this distance under Grant Behr was encouraging. She has cracked a good draw of two and is one of the leading contenders.

TRIP TO BARBERTON ran a fair race in her last start over 1500m. She is a progressive type and with just 54kgs on her back, she should run into the placings.

Race 4

RUN RUDOLPH RUN finished 1.25 lengths behind FUTURE TURN last time. He is 3.5kgs better off at the weights today and that should be enough for the tables to be turned. The son of Twice Over should have no issues with the rise to 2000m and from pole position, he may find himself in the winner’s enclosure.

POPPING CREASE finished 1.45 lengths behind FUTURE TURN in the race referred to above. He is 3kgs better off at the weights today and should turn the form around. The manner in which he finishes off his races suggests that he will love the rise to 2000m.

FUTURE TURN is lightly raced with good form lines to his credit. He moved up like a winner last time, but was outrun late by Mucho Dinero. Richard Fourie retains the ride and the pair merit healthy respect.

Race 5

I WANT IT ALL has shown good signs of a form return in his last two starts. He stayed on nicely when third over 1600m on this course last time. He has won once and finished third twice from four starts on this course. He is having his peak run today and with Richard Fourie in the saddle, he can return to winning ways.

SHAVOUT finished 0.75 lengths behind the top choice last time. He is 0.5kgs worse at the weights today and may have to settle for the same result. He has finished second twice and third once from as many starts over this distance. He is likely to race on the speed and may be hard to peg back.

GALACTIC PATH is a winner of his last three starts, the latest of which was over 2000m on this course. He takes a rise in class, but is in a good space and should be up to the task at hand.

Race 6

CHAMPION WARRIOR won easier than the official margin suggests on debut over this C&D. It must be noted that the horse that finished third that day has come out and won since. The son of Twice Over takes on stronger, but he could be anything and can remain unbeaten.

POLTERGEIST finished 0.85 lengths behind ALL LIT UP last time. He is 1.5kgs better off at the weights today and that should be enough for the tables to be turned. He will strip a much fitter horse today and is one of the leading contenders.

ALL LIT UP rallied late when winning his last start over this C&D. He received a four-pound penalty for that victory and against similar company, he can follow up.

Race 7

BRIGHT GREEN ran a decent race when having to overcome the widest draw in the Grade 2 Golden Horseshoe last time. He was ultra-impressive when winning on debut over 1200m at Hollywoodbets Greyville. He would have strengthened up during his time off the track and if not in need of the run, he may be the one to beat.

VOLDEMORT finished 0.5 lengths behind SILVANO’S DASHER last time. He is 2kgs better off at the weights today and that should be enough for the tables to be turned. He will strip a much fitter horse today and can go one better.

SILVANO’S DASHER ran on from last when winning his last start over 1250m on this course. He steps back up to the 1400m and with Keagan de Melo retaining the ride, he should be involved in the fight to the finish
