Race 2: QUASIMODO (6)
Race 3: MERCURIAL JET (2)
Race 7: RAINBOW THIEF (9)
Magic Tips Best Bet
Race 2: QUASIMODO (6)
Jockey: S Khathi– Trainer: K Mitchley
QUASIMODO ran a good race when second in his local debut over 2200m on this course. He was unlucky not to have won that day as he was carried inwards in the final 100m. The blinkers seem to have done the trick on the son of Quasillo. He should have no issues with the drop to 1900m and with a bit of luck in running, he can go one better.
Race 4: CELTILLUS (2)
Jockey: R Fourie – Trainer: A Greeff
CELTILLUS should have finished closer to the winner last time as he was carried inwards at the 200m mark and was reported to be coughing post-race. He won a good race in the Non-Black Type Nelson Mandela Bay Racing Poly Challenge in his penultimate effort. The manner in which he finishes off his races suggests that he will love the rise to 1600m. With a bit of luck in running, he should notch up his seventh career victory.
Top Bet For Today
Race 7: MODERN MAGICIAN (2)
Jockey: S Khumalo – Trainer: G Smith
MODERN MAGICIAN should have won his local debut over 1300m last time as he had no luck in the latter stages. He would have come on from the run and will strip a much fitter horse. With a bit of luck in running, he may be the one to beat.
Race 8: PRINCESS DEB’S (1)
Jockey: L Mxothwa – Trainer: D McKenzie
PRINCESS DEB’S showed good guts when winning her last start over 1200m on this course. She set the pace and kept going well to hold all challengers at bay. Two of her four career victories have come over this distance. She is likely to use her early gate speed to overcome her wide draw of twelve and can notch up her fifth career victory.
Value Bet For Today
Race 5: MISS MILLSTREAM (7)
Jockey: L Mxothwa – Trainer: G Smith
MISS MILLSTREAM finished 1.75 lengths behind CHRONICLESOFNANIA last time. She is 3kgs better off at the weights today and that should be enough for the tables to be turned. She has finished second twice and third once from four starts over this C&D. She is likely to race on the speed and can return to winning ways
