ROYAL VENUS should have finished closer last time as she clipped heels at the 750m mark. It must be noted that Ignitethelight has come out and won again since. With a bit of luck in running, she should be involved at the finish.

GLOBAL SCENE has not finished too far off the winner in recent outings. She raced from a handy position over 1400m on the turf last time and stayed on to finish second. The daughter of Global View should love the rise to the mile and she can go one better. 

BEIJING BOULEVARD fought hard when second over this distance on the turf last time, but found one too good in the form of Elusive Mata. With a bit of luck from her awkward draw of nine, she should pose a threat.

UNION ROSE was disappointing over this distance on the turf last time. He finished second in his penultimate run over this C&D. If putting his best foot forward, he should throw out a big challenge to the top choice. 

PATH OF CHOICE is better than his last start over 1300m. He has won twice and finished second once from seven starts over this C&D. On best form shown, he should have a say in the outcome of this contest.

SPIN DOCTOR has decent recent form lines to his credit. He raced from a handy position over this distance on the turf last time and stayed on to finish fourth. The son of Duke Of Marmalade is the stable elect with Chase Maujean in the saddle. From his good draw of four, he can return to winning ways. 

CENTRAL CITY ran a fair race over 2400m on the turf last time. He finished 5.3 lengths behind the top selection in his penultimate effort. He is 0.5kgs worse off at the weights today and may have to settle for the same result.

MAKHACHEV should have finished closer to the winner last time as he had to be steadied late. He ran a good race when second over this distance on the turf in his penultimate run. If finding the form of that effort, he should be competitive.

USA‘S HOPE is having his first outing for the Gavin Smith stable. It must be noted that the form of his last race has been franked. LA PEQUENITA stayed on when fifth over 1600m on this course last time. It must be noted that Ignitethelight has come out and won again since. If jumping on terms, she can notch up her second-career victory. 

FLOWER FESTIVAL has good recent form lines on this course. The daughter of Flower Alley is likely to race on the speed from her good draw of two and may be hard to peg back. 

HAVANA GREY finished off her race well over 1000m on the turf last time. She would have come on from the run and should strip much fitter. Despite her big mass of 62kgs, she should be competitive. 

RACE 9

JADE‘S CABERNEIGH ran a good race when fourth over 1000m on this course last time. It must be noted that multiple horses from that form line have come out and won since. She has won once and finished third twice from four starts over this C&D. She is back against her own sex and can return to winning ways. 

IQEMBULABESIFAZANE is the stable companion of the top choice. She has won once, finished second once and third once from four starts over this C&D. If not in need of this outing, she may be the one to fill the exacta spot. 

AUDACIOUS won a good race in her last start over this C&D. She does take on stronger, but has plenty of scope and should be up to the task at hand
