RACE 1

This is a weak Open Maiden for the girls and caution is advised. The tentative first selection is SASSY from the Kelly Mitchley stable. She stayed on when third in her last start over 2200m on this course. The daughter of Bezrin is the stable elect with Muzi Yeni in the saddle and she can shed her maiden tag

FIERY CLIFFS has fair recent form lines to her name. The manner in which she has finished off some of her races suggests that she will be at home over 1900m. Should the top choice fluff her lines, she may be the one to pick up the pieces.

MORE FOR ME is better than her last start as the jockey reported something to be amiss. Her penultimate run when second over 2000m, catches the eye. Luyolo Mxothwa steps back into the saddle and if putting her best foot forward, she should have a say.

RACE 2

PAINITE has shown improvement in his last two starts on this course. He raced from a handy position over 2200m last time, fought hard but found one too good in the form of Space Explorer. The son of Twice Over meets the right field this afternoon and he can go one better.

WOLFRAM stayed on when third over 1900m on this course last time. He finished 2.5 lengths behind the top choice, three runs ago. The pair meet on the same weight terms today and he may have to settle for the same result

SMART MASTER showed some improvement over 1600m on this course last time. The blinkers seem to have done the trick and there should be more to come from the son of Master Of My Fate

RACE 3

THE CHARIOTEER has finished fourth in both his efforts to date. He raced from a handy position over 1200m last time and stayed on at the finish. It must be noted that the horse that finished second that day has come out and won since. The son of Oratorio will love the rise to 1600m and he may be the one to side with.

US OPEN has run two decent races on this course. The cheekpieces seem to have had the desired effect. He is the stable elect with Muzi Yeni in the saddle and is one of the leading contenders.

LAUNCH CODE showed good improvement in his last start over 1300m on this course. He raced from a handy position and stayed on at the finish. The son of Lancaster Bomber will love the rise to the mile and should be involved at the finish.

RACE 4

PUBLIC BENEFIT won a good race when shedding her maiden tag over this distance on the turf. It must be noted that the horse that finished second that day has come out and won since. The daughter of Erupt takes on stronger, but she is the best weighted runner and should be up to the task at hand.

HOLLY‘S VIEW is better than her last start over 1400m. Her penultimate run when second over this C&D was encouraging. On best form shown, she should pose a massive threat.

IDABELLE was an easy winner when shedding her maiden tag over 1300m on this course. The blinkers have done the trick on the daughter of The United States. S’manga Khumalo retains the ride and from her good draw of two, she should run a big race.

RACE 5

LORD MILORI was not disgraced when sixth in the Listed Champion Juvenile Cup last time. He should have finished closer to the winner that day as he was inconvenienced at the 450m mark. The son of Duke Of Marmalade won his maiden over this C&D in his penultimate start. He takes on older rivals and has plenty of scope. He may be the one to side with

TRAVEL MASTER showed good guts when winning his last start over 1400m on this course. It must be noted that multiple horses from that form line have come out and won since. He is versatile and with Richard Fourie retaining the ride, he should go close.

UNCLE GEORGE stayed on well when second over 1900m on this course last time. He carries another handy galloping mass and from pole position, he should get a good run in transit.

Race 6

BUSH TRACKER fought hard in the Listed Memorial Mile last time, but found one too good in the form of Grazinginthegrass. He has won twice and finished second once from five starts on this course. He tries the 1800m for the first time and if seeing out the extra distance on offer, he can notch up his sixth career victory.

CHERRY ANO has good consistent form lines to his credit. He always gives of his best and should the top choice fluff his lines, he may be the one to pick up the pieces.

QUASIMODO won a good race over 2200m last time. He returns from a 13-week break which may have done him the world of good. Muzi Yeni retains the ride and the pair merit healthy respect

RACE 7

CLIFF TOP is the best bet on the programme. He showed good speed over 1000m last time, fought hard but found one too good in the form of Cruise Control. He has won twice, finished second once and third once from seven starts over this distance. Despite his big mass of 62kgs, he should be too good for this field.

TRANSACT finished 1 length behind SLIM JANNIE last time. He is 5.5kgs better off at the weights today and that should be enough for the tables to be turned. With a bit of luck from the widest draw, he may be the one to fill the exacta spot.

SLIM JANNIE is a winner of his last three starts. He is unbeaten from two starts over this C&D. This will be his toughest test to date, but he is in a good space and should be up to the task at hand.

RACE 8

GLOBAL FORCE was in need of his first run after the gelding. He set the pace in the Listed Champion Juvenile Cup last time, but did not go on with the effort. The son of Global View won his maiden on this course. This will be his first run in Handicap Company and he will strip much fitter. From his good draw of four, he may be the one to beat

CLAP OF THUNDER showed good signs of a form return in his last start over this C&D. He raced from a handy position, but was outrun late by Wind Sock. The blinkers seem to have done the trick and he is one of the leading contenders.

CALLMEMRGREENLIGHT is better than his last start over 1000m. He finished third in his penultimate run over this C&D. Muzi Yeni steps back into the saddle and he should run a big race
