RACE 1

CORAL CREEK has been costly to follow in his four races to date. He raced from a handy position over 1400m on this course last time and stayed on to finish fourth. The son of Global View should enjoy the drop to 1200m. He meets the right field this afternoon and may be the one to side with.

ALL ABOUT LOVE hails from the visiting Justin Snaith stable. He was in need of his first run as a gelding. He gets the blinkers fitted which should keep his mind on the task at hand. The son of Trippi will strip much fitter and there should be improvement to come.

BRIGHT FUTURE has been below par in his last two starts. His effort when third over 1000m on this course, three runs ago catches the eye. Luyolo Mxothwa is booked to ride and if finding the form of that run, he should have a say in the outcome of this contest.

RACE 2

KOHANA has shown good improvement in his last two starts. He finished off his race well when second over 1400m on this course last time. The son of Futura should love the rise to the mile. He is coming along the right way and can go one better.

OLIVER TWIST finished 1.25 lengths behind the top choice last time. He is 1.5kgs worse off at the weights today and may have to settle for the same result. Richard Fourie is booked to ride and he may be able to coax that little bit extra out of him where it matters most.

STORM BOULEVARD set the pace over this C&D last time but found one too good in the form of Jack In The Green. He is having his peak run today and should be cherry-ripe. The son of William Longsword is likely to have his own way in front from barrier two and he should be hard to peg back.

RACE 3

ANCHOR MAN has shown improvement in his last two starts. It must be noted that the form of his last outing has been franked. The manner in which he finishes off his races suggests that he will love the rise to 2000m. From his good draw of three, he may find himself in the winner’s enclosure.

GARDENER’S PRIDE is better than his last start as the jockey reported something to be amiss in running. He finished 0.15 lengths behind the top choice in his penultimate run. The pair meet on the same weight terms today and there should not be much separating them at the finish.

ORANJEMUND has fair form lines to his credit. He is having his first run for the Kelly Mitchley stable. If settled into his new surroundings, he should have a say in the outcome of this contest.

RACE 4

MONTELENA’S last three starts on the polytrack have been good. Despite taking a keen hold and racing wide on the turn last time, the manner in which she stayed on at the finish was encouraging. She has won once, finished second once and third once from five starts over this distance. She is the best-weighted runner and can return to winning ways.

POMO’S BIG SPENDER just won his maiden over this C&D last time. The son of Pomodoro takes on stronger, but he has plenty of scope and should be up to the task at hand.

MAKHACHEV fought hard when second over this C&D last time. It must be noted that the horse that finished third that day has come out and won since. He will strip a much fitter horse today and must be included in all bets.

Race 5

CRUISE CONTROL showed plenty of speed when winning the Non-Black Type Speedsters Stakes last time. He has won twice, finished second once and third once from eight starts over this distance. The son of Querari is unbeaten under Sporting Post-sponsored Jockey Luyolo Mxothwa and in this field, he should keep that record intact.

CLIFF TOP returns from a 16-week break and returns to the Alan Greeff stable. He has won twice, finished second once and third once from seven starts over this C&D. On best form shown, he may be the one to fill the exacta spot.

SPEED MACHINE finished 5 lengths behind the top choice last time. He is 2kgs worse off at the weights today and may have to settle for the same resul

Race 6

TIRPITZ is better than his last start on the polytrack. His penultimate run when fifth over 1400m on this course was encouraging. The son of Silvano will love the return to the turf and he should be at peak fitness. He takes a drop back in class and it would not be a surprise to see him win a race of this nature.

DESTINY’S ANGEL has very good recent form lines to his credit. He has won twice and finished second once from as many starts over this C&D. Should the top choice fluff his lines, he may be the one to pick up the pieces.

DANCINGTOTHELIGHT was an easy winner of his last start over 1400m on this course. The son of Gimmethegreenlight should have no issues with the rise to the mile and he merits healthy respect.

RACE 7

KNOCKOUT should have finished much closer to the winner in her last start over 1400m at Hollywoodbets Durbanville. She had to be steadied and switched at the 300m mark that day. The daughter of Danon Platina should love the rise to the mile and she will enjoy the long run-in. With a bit of luck in running, she should notch up her fourth-career victory.

STRANGE MAGIC is the stable elect with Richard Fourie in the saddle. She raced from a handy position over 1300m last time and stayed on at the finish. It must be noted that Masked Vigilante has come out and won again since. She is back against her own sex and is one of the leading contenders.

AS FATE HAS IT is in very good form. She has won twice, finished second once and third once from five starts over this distance. If jumping on terms, she should have a say in the outcome of this contest.

RACE 8

This is a competitive Merit Rated 86 Handicap and caution is advised. The tentative first selection is HAROLD THE DUKE from the Kelly Mitchley stable. He was not disgraced against stronger over 2400m on this course last time. He has won once, finished second once and third twice from six starts on this course. He carries a light mass of 49.5kgs and with luck in running, he can notch up his fourth-career victory.

NO PLACE LIKE HOME ran on well when second over this C&D last time. Richard Fourie retains the ride and if jumping on terms, he can pose a threat.

PREVALENCE just won his last start over 1400m on this course. It must be noted that multiple horses from that form line have come out and won since. He is in a good space and if getting away to a clean start, he can follow up
