RACE 1

ENCHANTED SKY has produced three good efforts since relocating to the Eastern Cape. She moved up like a winner over 1400m last time but was caught in the shadow of the post by More Than A Dream. The drop to 1000m should not pose an issue. She is fitted with the tongue-tie which may have the desired effect. S’manga Khumalo is booked to ride and he may be able to coax that little bit extra out of her where it matters most.

SI GIOCA showed good speed over this C&D last time, fought hard but found one too good in the form of Whataball. Should the top choice fluff her lines, she may be the one to pick up the pieces.

LADY D’ARBANVILLE stayed on strongly when second over 1200m last time. Jockey Richard Fourie has opted to ride the second choice this time around. However, she is in a good space and cannot be ignored.

RACE 2

ROSA ROSSA has shown improvement in each of her outings to date. She was slow into stride over 1400m last time, but finished off her race nicely. The tongue-tie seems to have done the trick on the daughter of Flower Alley. She is a progressive type and should love the rise to the mile. If jumping on terms, she should find herself in the winner’s enclosure.

ELUSIVE MATA ran a decent race when fourth in her last start over this C&D. She would have come on from the outing and should strip much fitter. She tries the cheekpieces this afternoon which should keep her mind on the task at hand.

FLAMBOYANT FLYER hails from the visiting Candice Bass-Robinson stable. Her last start over this distance at Hollywoodbets Kenilworth was fair. She has cracked pole position and if suited to the polytrack, she should give a good account of herself.

RACE 3

REACH FORTHE STARS should have won his last start over this C&D as the saddle was reported to have slipped in running. The son of Gimmethegreenlight meets the right field today and from pole position, he should shed his maiden tag.

GIVE US A SMILE is better than his last start. His local debut effort when fourth over this C&D was encouraging. He gets the blinkers re-fitted and is one of the leading contenders.

NAIROBI is a filly taking on the males. Her last start when third over 1300m on this course was fair. It must be noted that the horse that finished second that day has come out and won since. She carries a handy galloping mass of 54.5kgs and should have a say in the outcome of this contest.

RACE 4

WAZ WOUTER set the pace in the Guineas Plate over this C&D last time and stayed on to finish third. He has shown good improvement since adopting frontrunning tactics. He drops in class and may be hard to peg back in the run down to the line.

AFRICA’S ROCK’S last three starts have been decent. He has won once, finished second once and third once from five starts on this course. He is in a good space and should throw out a big challenge to the top selection.

ROSA DOURADA ran a decent race when third over this C&D last time. It must be noted that the horse that finished second that day has come out and won since. She is in a good space and should give the males a run for their money.

Race 5

GET IT DONE ran a good race when third over 1600m on this course last time. It must be noted that the horse that finished second that day has come out and won since. She is likely to race on the speed from her good draw of four and can return to winning ways.

HEARTSEASE produced a good effort when third over this C&D last time. She has won once, finished second three times and third three times from nine starts over this distance. She takes a drop-in class and with luck in running, she should be competitive.

ST CLOUD is better than her last outing against male company over 2200m. Her penultimate run when second over this C&D was encouraging. If jumping on terms, she should have a say in the outcome of this contest.

Race 6

BAUBLES AND BEADS has good recent form lines to her name. She rallied late when third over 1200m on this course last time. She has won once and finished third twice from six starts over this distance. The daughter of Rafeef takes a big drop-in class and can notch up her third career victory.

LOOKING HOT finished 1 length behind the top choice last time. She is 1kg better off at the weights today and there should not be much separating the pair in the run down to the line.

OLD TRUTH finished 0.25 lengths behind the top choice last time. She is 1kg worse off at the weights today and may have to settle for the same result. She is likely to race on the speed and may be hard to peg back.

RACE 7

BRENDEN JAMES stayed on at the finish over this distance on the turf last time, but found one too good in the form of Blackberry Malt. He has won twice and finished second once from five starts over this distance. He takes a drop-in class and from his good draw of three, he should take a power of beating.

NARCOS was not disgraced when fourth in the Non-Black Type November Stakes last time. He finished 6.15 lengths behind the top selection in his penultimate run. The pair meet on the same weight terms today and he may have to settle for the same result.

SEQUOIA’S last three starts have been good. He finished 2 lengths behind the top choice in his penultimate run. He is 2kgs better off at the weights today and there should not be much separating them at the finish.

RACE 8

PEDRO took on stronger company in his last start over this distance on the turf. He should have finished closer to the winner that day as he hung in the closing stages. It must be noted that Global Ally has come out and won again since. He is suited to the polytrack. The son of Noble Tune drops in class and he will be mowing down the frontrunners.

BENNELONG POINT showed good improvement in his last start over 1200m on this course. The manner in which he stayed on at the finish that day was encouraging. The son of Pathfork is one of the leading contenders.

DUKE OF ORANGE finished 0.5 lengths behind the second choice last time. He is 0.5kgs better off at the weights today and there should not be much separating the pair at the finish
