Race 1

VEGAS GOLD showed very good improvement in his last start over 1200m on the turf, under today’s pilot Warren Kennedy. Despite hanging in the closing stages, he stayed on nicely at the business end. The son of Var should have no issues with the drop in distance and if confirming his recent improvement, he may be the one to beat.

LA FILLE is a filly taking on the males. She stumbled at the start last time, but finished her race off well. The daughter of Captain Of All is having her peak run today and should be cherry-ripe. Should the top choice fluff his lines, she may be the one to pick up the pieces.

ALMA MATER’S last three starts with the blinkers and tongue-tie fitted have been decent. He was reported to be distressed last time. The 5yo gelding has finished second over the 1000m in the past and Anton Marcus may be able to get the best out of him.

Race 2

AMARANDI has shown good improvement in each of her outings to date. She showed good speed in her last start over this distance at Hollywoodbets Scottsville but was caught in the latter stages. The daughter of What A Winter is a progressive type and if suited to the Polytrack, she can go one better.

CRAZY BLUES had excuses in her last start over 1400m on the turf. Her penultimate run when finishing third over 1400m on this course was encouraging. The daughter of William Longsword drops in trip and if not too far out of her ground turning for home, she should have a good winning chance.

LEOPARD LADY was running on nicely when finishing second over this distance on the turf last time. 4kgs claiming apprentice Donald Geerthsen takes the ride which should help her chances. She is carded to race on 12 December 2021 and her progress in that race will need to be checked.

Race 3

SNIPER SHOT got going too late when finishing third over this C&D last time. He has dropped to a competitive rating and takes a drop in class. Keagan de Melo retains the ride and if repeating his last outing, he should be the one to beat.

BORN TO PERFORM showed good guts when winning his last start over 1600m on the turf. He received the minimum two-pound penalty for that victory and can follow up.

RALPH THE RASCAL should have finished closer to the winner last time as he hung in the latter stages. He has won twice and finished second once from seven starts over this C&D. The 5yo gelding will be mowing down the frontrunners in the run down to the line.

Race 4

This is a weak Qualified Maiden Plate and caution is advised. The tentative first selection is BOLD PREMIER from the Tienie Prinsloo stable. He set the pace in his last start over 1600m on the turf, but found one too good in the form of Admiral Birnham. Interestingly, the blinkers have been removed for this outing. He drops back in distance and if confirming his recent improvement, he can shed his maiden tag.

GET CARTER was running on well to finish second in his last two starts on this course. The son of Flying The Flag is in a good space and may be rewarded for consistency.

BLACKWHITEDYNAMITE had to contest with a wide barrier position last time, but stayed on at the finish. His best run to date was on this course. Anton Marcus takes the ride from pole position and the combination cannot be ignored.

Race 5

HUMDINGER is the best bet on the card. She was running on strongly in her last start over 1200m on this course, but it was a little too late. The daughter of What A Winter shed her maiden tag over this distance. She has some class about her and if suited to the Polytrack, she should take a power of beating.

STATE OF MIND showed some signs of a form return in her last start over this C&D against stronger. It must be noted that the horse that finished second that day has come out and won since. She has won twice and finished second once from five starts over this C&D. She drops in class and is one of the leading contenders.

BIRDWATCHER was her own worst enemy over a mile last time as she overraced in the early stages. She has won once, finished second once and third once from four starts over this C&D. From her good draw of two, she should have a say in the outcome of this contest.

Race 6

FLOWER SEASON was running on nicely over 1400m at Hollywoodbets Scottsville last time. She has finished second twice and third twice from seven starts over this distance. The 5yo mare is in a good space and can notch up her third career victory.

ROYAL KITTY finished 0.8 lengths behind the top choice last time. She is 1kg worse off at the weights today and may battle to turn the tables. She is a consistent type and merits healthy respect.

LET’S NOT LINGER ran a fair race against stronger company last time. She won a good race in her penultimate start over 1700m on this course. She drops back in class and despite her big mass of 62kgs, she should fight out the finish.

Race 7

QAARAAT set the pace in her last start over 1400m at Hollywoodbets Scottsville and stayed on nicely to finish third. She jumps from a much better barrier position and if seeing out the mile, she should find herself in the winner’s enclosure.

HOT MONEY was her own worst enemy last time as she overraced in the early stages. She takes a drop back in class and if Donovan Dillon is able to switch her off early, she should pose a massive threat.

SPACE ODDITY finished 1.3 lengths behind the top choice last time. The pair meet on the same weight terms this afternoon and she may have to settle for the same result.

Race 8

HEARTSEASE stayed on nicely when finishing second over this C&D last time, but found one too good in the form of Jacqueline. She has finished second once and third three times from six starts on this course. From her good draw of three, she can return to winning ways.

CHELSEA FLOWER should have won last time as she hung in the latter stages. The manner in which she finished off her race that day was eye-catching. She is suited to the Polytrack surface and will be mowing down the frontrunners.

EVENING PRIMROSE finished 2.45 lengths behind the top choice last time. The pair meet on the same weight terms today and she may have to settle for the same result
