Race 1

MCCARTNEY ran a good race when third over this distance at Hollywoodbets Scottsville last time. It must be noted that Kitchakal has come out and finished a close second since. It is encouraging that Keagan de Melo rides on his return after a 12-week break and in this line-up, he can shed his maiden tag.

GERONIMO’S last two starts over 1400m have been fair. The drop back to 1200m will suit him well and should the top choice fluff his lines, he may be the one to pick up the pieces.

KING’S SPEAR should have finished closer in his comeback run last time. He has finished second twice from three starts on this course. The son of Kingsbarns will strip much fitter and with a bit of luck, he should be competitive.

Race 2

JOHNNY’S HOPE is lightly raced with good form lines to his credit. He raced from a handy position over this C&D last time, moved up well but was outrun late by Cherokee Trail. He jumps from pole position and is the horse to beat.

CORSICAN rallied late when second over this C&D last time. The son of Eightfold Path is a progressive type and if not too far out of his ground turning for home, he can go one better.

IMAGINABLE produced an encouraging debut effort over 1400m on this course. He was green in running and raced wide around the turn, but stayed on at the business end. The son of William Longsword would have gained from the experience and will love the extra distance on offer. With the natural improvement that is expected, he should be competitive.

Race 3

LORD MINVER has fair consistent form lines to his credit. He stayed on when fourth over 2000m on this course last time. The son of Duke Of Marmalade has dropped to a competitive rating and from his good draw of four, he can return to winning ways.

HIGH GREEN ran a good race when fourth in his last start over 1800m on this course. He raced from a handy position and stayed on nicely at the business end. 2.5kgs claiming apprentice Malesela Katjedi retains the ride and he is one of the leading contenders.

KHANYISA INDLELA ran a fair race in his last start over 1600m on the turf. He is having his peak run today and should be cherry-ripe. Keagan de Melo steps back into the saddle and he should have a say in the outcome of this contest.

Race 4

MAXIUMUS’ last two starts have been good. He raced from a handy position over 1600m on the turf last time, but was unlucky not to have won as he was intimidated in the closing stages. It must be noted that Manhatten Cafe has come out and won again since. Three of his four career victories have come on this course and he should be the horse to beat.

WINTER WITH JO finished 3.25 lengths behind METALLIC GOLD last time. He is 9.5kgs better off at the weights today which should be enough for the tables to be turned. He will be at peak fitness and may be the horse to cause the upset.

METALLIC GOLD moved up like a winner over this C&D last time, but was touched off by Ralph The Rascal. He has won once and finished second twice from five starts on this course. The son of Flying The Flag is in a good space and must be included in all bets.

Race 5

BLACKWHITEDYNAMITE ran a fair race in his last start over this distance on the turf. It must be noted that the horse that finished third that day has come out and won since. He has won three times and finished third once from six starts over this C&D. If ridden with some restraint, he can return to winning ways.

CUPID’S SONG raced wide around the turn over this C&D last time and stayed on at the finish. He finished 0.20 lengths behind GENTLEMAN’S WAY, three runs ago. He is 1kg better off at the weights today and that should be enough for the tables to be turned. Keagan de Melo takes the ride and he may be able to coax that little bit extra out of him where it matters most.

GENTLEMAN’S WAY was a tad disappointing in his last start over 1600m. It must be noted that Manhatten Cafe has come out and won again since. He is a better horse on the polytrack and cannot be ignored.

Race 6

METEORIC is better than her last two starts suggest. She is unbeaten from two starts over this C&D. Muzi Yeni takes the ride and on best form shown, she can notch up her fourth career victory.

FLYING THE STAR ran a fair race in her last start over 1000m at Hollywoodbets Scottsville. She has dropped to a competitive rating and should the top choice fluff her lines, she may be the one to pick up the pieces.

SHELL SEEKER showed good improvement in her last start over 1400m on this course. The manner in which she stayed on at the finish was encouraging. If confirming her recent improvement, she should be involved in the fight to the finish.

Race 7

BOLDLY GO’S last three starts against stronger company have been fair. She takes a drop in class and if putting her best foot forward, she should return to winning ways.

CORNER CRUSADE has not finished too far off the winner in recent outings. It must be noted that the horse that finished second in her last start has come out and won since. She has won once, finished second four times and third once from as many starts over this C&D. Apprentice Malesela Katjedi takes the 2.5kgs off her back and she is one of the leading contenders.

MVULAZANA stayed on when fifth over this distance on the turf last time. The daughter of Soft Falling Rain takes a drop in class and if not in need of the run, she should have a say in the outcome of this contest.

Race 8

GIMME A LULLABY ran on strongly when winning her last start over this C&D. The removal of the headgear did the trick. She found betting support that day. She has won twice and finished third once from five starts over this C&D. The daughter of Gimmethegreenlight is in a good space and can follow up. MORGAN LA FAY ran a decent race when third over 1000m on this course last time. She takes a slight drop in class and from pole position, she should pose a massive threat.

KILEIGH’S FATE has fair recent form lines to her credit. Two of her three career victories have come over this C&D. With a bit of luck from her awkward draw of nine, she should run into the money
