Race 1

PURPLE OPERATOR should have finished much closer in his last start as he was carried outwards at the 450m mark. His two efforts over 1600m prior to that were encouraging. He has cracked a good draw and in this type of field, he can shed his maiden tag.

PROTEA PRIDE set the pace over 1600m last time, but was outrun late. The drop back to 1400m is a slight concern, but he runs well for Donovan Dillon and cannot be ignored.

TRIDENT KING showed good improvement in his last start after returning from a 34- week break. He raced from a handy position and stayed on nicely to finish fourth. The son of Pathfork should strip much fitter and may have more to come.

Race 2

SYX HOTFIX was a beaten favourite in his last start, but was reported to have cast a shoe in running. It must be noted that the form of that race has been franked. His penultimate run when finishing third over this distance catches the eye. The son of Flower Alley tries the Polytrack for the first time and if suited to the surface, he should be the one to beat.

SIR THEODORE has shown good improvement with the blinkers fitted. He raced from a handy position over 1700m last time and fought hard all the way to the line. The son of Twice Over should enjoy the extra furlong on offer and is one of the leading contenders.

BOMBAY CIRCUS finished 0.9 lengths behind the second choice last time. He is 1kg better off at the weights today and there should not be much separating the pair.

Race 3

RAINBOW UNICORN finished 4.25 lengths behind TO THE MAX last time. She is 8.5kgs better off at the weights today and that should be enough for the tables to be turned. She carries a light mass of 48.5kgs and from her mid-field draw, she may be the one to cause the upset.

LAUREL LANE was not disgraced against stronger company last time. She finished second in her only attempt over this C&D. She continues to drop in the ratings and should the top choice fluff her lines, she may be the one to pick up the pieces.

TO THE MAX ran on from last when winning her last start over 2000m on this course. She received the minimum two-pound penalty for that victory and can follow up.

Race 4

THE BAYOU took on stronger company over 1400m on this course last time. It must be noted that the horse that finished third that day has come out and won since. Four of his five career victories have come over this distance. The 7yo gelding takes a drop in class and with the services of 4kgs claiming apprentice Donald Geerthsen, he can return to winning ways.

STAR CRUSADE was given a peach of a ride when winning his last start over 1900m on this course. He has won once and finished second twice from five starts over this distance. He will be mowing down the frontrunners in the closing stages.

WINTER WAVES has not finished too far off the winner in recent outings. The manner in which he finished off his race that day suggests that he will love the rise to the mile. With a bit of luck from his wide draw, he should fight out the finish.

Race 5

MASTER TOBE was not disgraced when finishing fourth against much stronger company last time. He took the lead at the 800m mark that day and stayed on at the finish. He has won twice and finished second once from four starts over this C&D. The son of Master Of My Fate takes a drop in class and with Keagan de Melo in the saddle, he is the horse to beat.

FISTS OF FIRE is better than his last start as he was bumped at the start. He has won once and finished second once from as many starts over this C&D. With a bit of luck in running, he should throw out a big challenge to the top choice.

BEYONDTHEBOUNDARY won a good race in his last start over 1400m on the turf. It must be noted that multiple horses from that form line have come out and won since. The son of Gimmethegreenlight has plenty of scope and if suited to the surface, he should go close to winning.

Race 6

HER ROYAL MAJESTY showed good speed last time, but was outrun late by Sting Ray. She finished 0.4 lengths behind DUNYAA in her penultimate run. She is 4.5kgs better off at the weights today and that should be enough for the tables to be turned. She is having her second run after a rest and should strip much fitter.

DUNYAA was an easy winner when setting the pace over 1200m on this course last time. She was given a seven-pound penalty for that victory. The daughter of Brazen Beau is in a good space and can follow up.

MY ELOUISE was a comfortable winner when shedding her maiden tag over this C&D, three weeks ago. The daughter of Great Britain makes her handicap debut, but she is lightly raced and has plenty of scope.

Race 7

KUUMA hails from the visiting Sean Tarry stable. He is much better than his last four starts suggest and continues to drop in the ratings. The son of Lance won his only attempt on this course. The blinkers get removed for this outing and against much weaker opposition, he can return to winning ways.

GENIE should have won his last start over this C&D as he was awkwardly placed at the 150m mark. It must be noted that multiple horses from that form line have come out and won since. Warren Kennedy takes the ride and with a bit of luck in running, he should pose a massive threat.

DON’T TOUCH ME has not finished too far off the winner in recent outings. He over-raced over 1600m last time and drops back to 1400m. The son of Var will be staying on at the business end.

Race 8

CUPID’S SONG was given a peach of a ride when winning his last start over this C&D. It must be noted that multiple horses from that form line have come out and won since. He returns to handicap company this afternoon and can follow up.

PREEMPTIVE STRIKE fought hard in his last start at Hollywoodbets Scottsville, but found one too good in the form of Love On Time. He meets a similar type of field today and is one of the leading contenders.

WHITE CEDAR won a good race over this C&D, five weeks ago. He set the pace, found another kick and won with a ton in hand. He takes a rise in class, but is in a good space and merits healthy respect
