Race 1

STING RAY should have finished closer in her last start as she hung in the closing stages. It must be noted that multiple horses from that form line have come out and won since. She won a good race in her penultimate run over this distance. She jumps from pole position and if keeping on a straight line, she can notch up her third career victory.

REAL ADVISOR’S last two starts after returning from a 17- week break have been fair. She finished 1.95 lengths behind HER ROYAL MAJESTY in her penultimate effort. She is 2kgs better off at the weights today and there should not be much separating the pair.

HER ROYAL MAJESTY was a tad disappointing in her last start over this C&D. She finished second in her three efforts prior to that outing. If this run has not come too soon, she may be hard to peg back in the run down to the line.

Race 2

WILDEYE hails from the visiting Johan Janse van Vuuren stable. He has decent consistent form lines to his credit. He returns from a 13-week break and gets the blinkers fitted for the first time, which should keep his mind on the task at hand. He finished third in his only attempt on this course and if not in need of the run, he is the horse to beat.

WORD FOR WORD showed good improvement with the cheekpieces fitted last time. The manner in which he stayed on at the finish was encouraging. Sean Veale retains the ride and should the top choice fluff his lines, he may be the one to pick up the pieces.

ELUSIVE DREAM has shown good improvement in each of her outings to date. She moved up like a winner over 2000m, but was caught in the shadow of the post. She is carded to race on 06 March 2022 and her progress in that contest will need to be followed.

Race 3

BLUE SAILS took on male company in her last start over 1600m on this course. Her penultimate victory over 1400m on this course catches the eye. The manner in which she finishes off her races suggests that she will love the rise to 1700m. She is back against her own sex and with Serino Moodley in the saddle, she can return to winning ways.

LET’S NOT LINGER is better than her last start when it was reported that she took no interest. It must be noted that the form of that race has been franked. She won her only attempt over this C&D and on best form shown, she should pose a massive threat.

RAINBOW UNICORN was running on nicely when finishing fourth over this C&D last time. If repeating that effort in this type of field, she should go close to winning.

Race 4

ROY’S COMMAND was ultra-impressive when winning his last start over 1600m on this course. He was slow into stride, but quickened up well and drew clear of the opposition. He takes a drop in class and should be too good for this field.

PASHTUNWALI was his own worst enemy last time as he over raced in the early stages. However, the manner in which he stayed on at the finish was encouraging. The son of Rafeef will enjoy the rise to 1700m and if Anton Marcus is able to switch him off early, he should be one of the leading contenders.

WONDERING STAR hails from the visiting St John Gray stable. He should have finished closer to the winner last time as he hung in the final 300m. S’manga Khumalo takes the ride and if suited to the polytrack, he should fight out the finish.

Race 5

FLYING GRACE was doing his best work late when finishing third over 1800m on the Turffontein Inside course last time. The son of Master Of My Fate will love the rise to 2000m and he should be cherry- ripe. Anton Marcus takes the ride and he may be able to coax that little bit extra out of him where it matters most.

TECHNO SAVVY showed good signs of a form return in his last start over this C&D. He was reported to have cast a shoe in running. He gets the blinkers fitted for the first time and if the headgear has the desired effect, he should go close to winning.

SYX HOTFIX ran on powerfully when winning his maiden over 1900m on this course. It must be noted that the horse that finished second that day has come out and won since. The son of Flower Alley takes on stronger, but he has plenty of scope and should be up to the task at hand.

Race 6

SEVENTH SONG ran a decent race in his last start over this C&D. It must be noted that the form of that race has been franked. He continues to drop in the ratings and with just 53.5kgs on his back, he should be the one to beat.

LESLIES PATHTOFAME was a tad disappointing in his last start over 1000m on this course. His penultimate run when finishing second over this C&D was encouraging. He has won four times, finished second three times and third twice from thirteen starts over this C&D. Muzi Yeni takes the ride and the combination merit healthy respect.

RUNNING FREELY finished 1.65 lengths behind the top choice last time. He is 4kgs worse off at the weights today and may battle to turn the tables. His last victory came under jockey S’manga Khumalo and he cannot be ignored.

Race 7

SOUND OF HOUNDS jumped outwards leaving the start last time, but finished his race off strongly. The son of Bezrin looks to have ability and if suited to the polytrack, he should notch up his third career victory.

PATRONAGE was an easy winner of his last start over this C&D. He took the lead at the 300m mark and won a lot easier than the official margin suggests. It must be noted that the horse that finished third that day has come out and won since. He is in a good space and should notch up the hat- trick.

CAPE EAGLE is lightly raced with good form to his credit. It must be noted that Justaguything has come out and won since. The son of Vercingetorix should love the rise to 1400m and he should be involved in the fight to the finish.

Race 8

CAPRICCIO was unlucky in her last start over this distance as the saddle was reported to have slipped in running. She has finished second twice and third once from six starts over this C&D. She runs well for jockey Muzi Yeni and from pole position, she may find herself in the winner’s enclosure.

ZULU WAR CRY showed some improvement in her last start over 1200m on the Turffontein Inside course. Her only career victory came over this distance. If suited to the polytrack, she should have a say in the outcome of this contest.

ROYAL KITTY is much better than her last start against male company. Her form prior to that outing was consistent. She is back against her own sex today and merits obvious inclusion
