Race 1:

POPPY OF BAYEUX produced a promising debut effort over 1100m at Hollywoodbets Scottsville, four weeks ago. She should have finished closer that day as she was carried from the 250m mark. The daughter of William Longsword found plenty of betting support that day which suggests that she had been showing good work back at home. She would have gained from the experience and will enjoy the extra distance on offer. With the natural improvement that is expected, she should be the one to beat. 

IMBEJEJE ran a good race on debut over 1000m at Hollywoodbets Scottsville, six weeks ago. She showed good pace that day and stayed on nicely at the finish. She should enjoy the extra distance on offer and should pose a threat to the top choice. 

HEARTSEASE got going too late when finishing third in her last start over 1200m on the polytrack. The daughter of Elusive Fort will be at home over the extra distance on offer. From her good draw of two, she merits healthy respect. 

Race 2:

GOOD TRAVELLER was ultra-impressive when winning on debut over 1100m at Hollywoodbets Hollywoodbets Scottsville, five weeks ago. He raced from just off the pace that day and won with a ton in hand. The son of Visionaire looks to have ability and if not too green around the turn, he should remain unbeaten. 

PARIS RIX showed good improvement to win his maiden over 1000m at Hollywoodbets Hollywoodbets Scottsville. He showed plenty of speed that day and won a lot easier than the official margin suggests. Should the top choice fluff his lines, he may be the one to pick up the pieces. 

PARTY TIME finished 1.1 lengths behind WATERBERRY LANE on debut. He is 3kgs better off at the weights today and that should be enough for the tables to be turned. If suited to the turf, he should give a good account of himself.

 

Race 3:

PROMISE TO DREAM hails from the visiting Weiho Marwing stable. He produced three decent efforts before given a lengthy 60-week break. During his time off the track, he was gelded which may have been what he needed. He has finished second once and third once over this distance. He looks to have some ability and if not in need of the run, he should go close to winning. 

NO NAME BRAND showed very good improvement in his last start over this distance with the blinkers fitted. He is having his peak run today and should be cherry-ripe. He is likely to race up with the pace and may be hard to peg back. 

SHAMPOMPO SHAMPIZI is an unraced son of Var from the Alyson Wright stable with Lyle Hewitson in the saddle. He is related to nine-time winner Rule The Night. The betting market will be the best guide with regards to his chances. 

Race 4:

WHAT A SPLASH has produced four decent efforts to date. She should have finished closer last time as her pilot dropped his crop in the closing stages. The daughter of What A Winter makes her course debut this afternoon and if not too green around the turn, she should shed her maiden tag. 

INTOMBI showed good improvement in her comeback run over 1100m on the polytrack. She set the pace that day, but found one too good in the form of Conker The World. She should strip a much fitter horse today and should pose a threat. 

QUENANZA'S last start can be ignored as the bit was pulled through her mouth. On best form shown, she should give a good account of herself in this line-up.

Race 5:

BAYVIEW EXPRESS ran a decent race when finishing fifth over 1950m at Hollywoodbets Hollywoodbets Scottsville, four weeks ago. The son of Jackson won his only attempt over this distance. He takes a big drop in class today and with Anton Marcus back in the saddle, he should get back to winning ways.

ORIGAMI followed up his maiden victory with a decent second-place finish over 1900m on the Polytrack. Interestingly, the blinkers get removed for this outing but he is in a good run of form and cannot be ignored. 

TILLIEANGUS showed some signs of a form return in his last start over a mile. He was reported to be cut into that day and cast a shoe in running which makes the effort that much more encouraging. It must be noted that the form of that race has been franked. With a bit of luck in running, he should earn a cheque. 

Race 6:

GENTLEMAN'S WAGER was ultra-impressive when winning his last start over 2000m on the polytrack. He took the lead at the 250m mark that day and won a lot easier than the official margin suggests. He is back on the turf this afternoon and can notch up his seventh career victory. 

SPRING FLING has won his last two starts well with Athandiwe Mgudlwa in the saddle, the latest of which was over this distance. With a bit of luck from his wide draw, he can notch up the hat-trick. 

TWICE GOLDEN is much better than his last start as he was reported to be fatigued. He finished second in his only attempt over this C&D. He jumps from pole position and if this run has not come too soon, he should be involved in the fight to the finish.

Race 7:

This is a competitive Pinnacle Stakes field and caution is advised. The narrow first selection is GOOD RHYTHM from the Louis Goosen stable. He raced wide around the turn last time, but stayed on nicely at the finish. He finished 2.3 lengths behind 

PEARL OF ASIA in his penultimate start. He is 5kgs better off at the weights today and that should be enough for the tables to be turned. With a bit of luck in running, he should go close to winning. 

SPYDAS CORNER has very good consistent form lines to his credit. He challenged strongly in his last start, but was touched off in the shadow of the post. He gets a change of headgear and should pose a big threat. 

Race 8:

INTUITIVE was an easy winner when shedding her maiden tag over this distance at Hollywoodbets Hollywoodbets Scottsville, three weeks ago. The daughter of Visionaire takes on stronger today, but she is lightly raced and looks to have scope. 

BIG SKY COUNTRY fought hard for her last win over this distance at Hollywoodbets Hollywoodbets Scottsville. She has won twice and finished second twice from five starts over this distance. She gets the services of 2.5kgs claiming apprentice Kyle Strydom which should help her chances. 

SHE'S A KEEPER finished 0.75 lengths behind the second choice last time. The pair meet on the same weight terms today and she may have to settle for the same result.

Race 9

RUBY SKY has shown good improvement in her last two starts. She should have finished closer in both those efforts as she hung in the latter stages. The daughter of Act Of War will enjoy the extra furlong on offer and in this type of field, she can shed her maiden tag.

ANOTHER LOVE has not finished too far off the winner in recent outings. She has finished third twice from three starts over this distance. If switching off early, she should throw out a big challenge to the top choice. 

BIG HELLO'S showed good improvement in her last start over 1100m on the polytrack. The manner in which she stayed on at the finish was encouraging. She should have no issues with the extra distance on offer and may have more to come.
