Race 1

Racing is back on the turf at Hollywoodbets Greyville. LITTLE MISS KJ produced an eye-catching debut effort over 1100m at Hollywoodbets Scottsville, three weeks ago. She took time to find her feet, but the manner in which she finished off her race was encouraging. The daughter of Crusade would have gained from the experience and if not too green around the turn, she should be the one to beat.

RIDE ON ran a good race on debut over this distance. She was bumped at the start, but showed speed before getting outrun late by Woodland Retreat. She jumps from pole position on her course debut and should the top choice fluff her lines, she may be the one to pick up the pieces.

ADITI finished 1.75 lengths behind the second choice last time. The pair meet on the same weight terms today and she may have to settle for the same result.

Race 2

Trainer Mike Miller holds a strong hand in this contest and can saddle the first two past the post. SUPERIOR FORCE has run three good races to date. He has been gelded since his last outing which may have done the trick. S’manga Khumalo takes the ride and he may be able to coax that little bit extra out of him where it matters most.

SILVER DUCAT has finished behind the top selection in all three efforts to date. He too, has been gelded since his last outing. The son of What A Winter shows good speed and if keeping on a straight line, he may be hard to peg back.

DONQUERARI is an unraced son of Querari from the Lorenzo Karriem stable with Craig Zackey in the saddle. He is related to Grade 1 winning Missisippi Burning. If not in need of this run, he should get his career off to a positive start. The betting market will be the best guide with regards to his chances.

Race 3

GLOBAL SECRET’S last three starts were good. She showed good speed over 1200m last time, but was outrun late by Queen Mercury. She jumps from a good draw of two and is likely to have her own way in front with Anton Marcus in the saddle. She is suited to this course and can shed her maiden tag.

SKY CAFE finished 2.4 lengths behind the top choice last time. The manner in which she finishes off her races suggests that she will love the rise to 1400m. Donovan Dillon retains the ride and she is one of the leading contenders.

PICARA hails from the visiting Clinton Binda stable. She has decent recent form lines to her credit. She should have no issues with the 1400m and if suited to this course, she should fight out the finish.

Race 4

ONE SHOT WONDER has decent recent form lines to his credit. He raced from a handy position over 1400m last time, fought hard but found one too good in the form of Purple Operator. His penultimate effort when finishing second over this distance was encouraging. Serino Moodley retains the ride and from his mid-field draw, he may find himself in the winner’s enclosure.

RUNAWAY SONG finished 0.5 lengths behind the top choice last time. The son of Legislate is a progressive type and with Anton Marcus retaining the ride, he should go close to winning.

HEAD GARDENER overraced in what was a slow run event last time. The son of Flower Alley should enjoy the drop to the mile and if S’manga Khumalo is able to switch him off early, he should have a say in the outcome of this contest.

Race 5

This is a competitive Merit Rated 68 Handicap and caution is advised. The narrow first selection is GIMME A RAINBOW from the Carl Hewitson stable. He has not finished too far off the winner in recent outings. He takes a slight drop in class this afternoon and jumps from pole position. If Sean Veale is able to switch him off early, he can notch up his third career victory.

ADMIRAL BIRNHAM ran a good race when finishing second over 1500m at Hollywoodbets Scottsville last time. He won his maiden over this C&D. 1.5kgs claiming apprentice Rachel Venniker takes the ride and he should go close to winning.

THE APPEAL was given a strong ride when winning his last start over 2000m on the Polytrack. It must be noted that the horse that finished fourth that day has come out and won since. He meets a similar type of field today and can follow up.

Race 6

GOLIATH HERON has good consistent form lines to his credit. He showed good speed, but was outrun late by Cleaver Greene who is unbeaten from two starts. He has won on this course in the past and if all went well with his travels, he can notch up his fifth career victory.

WINTER AIR was his own worst enemy over 1400m last time as he overraced in the early stages. He was ultra-impressive when winning his maiden over this C&D at the second time of asking. He has plenty of scope and from pole position, he should run a big race.

FLASHY KAITRINA ran a good race in her last start, despite racing wide around the turn. She carries a handy galloping mass of 52kgs and from her good draw of two, she should give the males a run for their money.

Race 7

PARTY TIME was doing his best work late over 1200m at Hollywoodbets Scottsville last time. His effort when finishing second in the Listed Gatecrasher Stakes over this C&D catches the eye. He is having his peak run today and should be cherry-ripe. The son of Vercingetorix has ability and should be the horse to beat.

SILVER FALCON is lightly raced with some good form to his credit. He returns from a 14-week break, during which time he was gelded. If suited to the right-hand turn, he should throw out a big challenge to the top choice.

BEYONDTHEBOUNDARY ran a fair race in his first run out the maidens. It must be noted that the form of that race has been franked. He takes another rise in class, but is better suited to the turf and has plenty of scope.

Race 8

BEECHAMWOOD BOY ran a decent race in his first run out the maidens over 1200m at Hollywoodbets Scottsville. He raced from just off the pace and stayed on at the finish. The son of Eightfold Path will enjoy the rise to 1400m and with Warren Kennedy in the saddle, he may be the one to side with.

BRAZIL NUT was a tad disappointing in his last start over 1200m on the Polytrack. It must be noted that the form of that race has been franked. He has finished second twice and third once from five starts over this distance. He does have a wide draw to overcome, but is likely to use his early gate speed to get across without using up too much energy.

PINK FLOYD ran a decent race in his last start over this distance. It must be noted that the horse that finished third that day has come out and won since. He takes a drop in class and with a bit of luck, should be competitive
