ALFONSE BABY has finished second in her last four starts on the polytrack. She raced from a handy spot in her last start over this distance and stayed on well at the finish. Warren Kennedy sticks with the ride this afternoon and with a bit of luck from her wide barrier position, she should be rewarded for consistency.

Race 7: KASIMIR (9)

Jockey: A Marcus  - Trainer: J Snaith

KASIMIR got back to winning ways in the Grade 2 Diadem Stakes last time. He does step back over the seven furlongs today, but the manner in which he has been finishing off his races suggests that he will enjoy the extra distance on offer. Anton Marcus does duty for the Justin Snaith stable and the son of Captain Al may be the one to side with here.

Race 8: MISSISIPPI BURNING (4)

Jockey: C Zackey - Trainer: A Marcus

MISSISIPPI BURNING is the best bet on today's card. She was ultra-impressive when winning the Grade 1 Cape Fillies Guineas in her last start. She would have strengthened up during her time off the track and looks to be a class above the rest of this field. She jumps from a good draw today and the daughter of Captain Al should take a power of beating.

Race 9: SACHDEV (8)

Jockey: A Marcus - Trainer: J Snaith

SACHDEV ran a very good race when finishing second in the Cape Derby to GOLDEN DUCAT. He finished second in his penultimate start when finishing 0.75 lengths behind COUNT JACK over today's distance. The manner in which he finished off his run in the CTS 1600m was encouraging. He gets the services of Anton Marcus for the first time and he may be able to coax that little bit extra out of him where it matters most.

Race 5: MOCHA ROSE (1)

Jockey: K de Melo - Trainer: D Howells

MOCHA ROSE is the value bet on this afternoon's card. She showed some signs of a form return over six furlongs on this course last time. She had to overcome the widest draw that day and made some late progress up the straight. She will enjoy the rise in distance today as she has won twice from five attempts over this trip. The daughter of Mambo In Seattle jumps from pole position this afternoon and can cause the upset.
