CATCH THAT MELODY showed some improvement in her last start over 1000m at Hollywoodbets Scottsville. The manner in which she finished off her race that day suggests that she will enjoy the rise to 1200m. She looks to be a progressive type and is one of the leading contenders.
TABATHA CAT ran a fair race in her last start over 1000m on this course. She should have finished closer that day as she was awkwardly placed at the 400m mark. She jumps from pole position and with a bit of luck in running, she should fight out the finish.
Race 2
ENSUING raced in the Grade 3 Cape Of Good Hope Nursery on debut. He was green in running that day. It must be noted that multiple horses from that form line have come out and won since. He would have come on with the run under his belt and against maiden company, he should be competitive.
IN WITH A CHANCE showed very good improvement when finishing fifth over this C&D, four weeks ago. He was still green in running, but the manner in which he finished off his race was encouraging. Should the top choice fluff his lines, he may be the one to pick up the pieces.
FUTURE OF ENERGY ran a fair race on debut over 1200m at Hollywoodbets Scottsville. He showed good pace, but lacked extra in the latter stages. Warren Kennedy does duty this afternoon and if seeing out the 1400m, he should give a good account of himself.
Race 3
PICARA is still a maiden after 11 starts, but she has good recent form lines to her credit. She has finished second twice from as many starts over this distance. Warren Kennedy takes the ride in a shallow field and he may be able to coax that little bit extra out of her where it matters most.
COLUMBIA ROAD ran a fair race on debut over 1200m on this course, four weeks ago. She would have gained from the experience and will enjoy the extra furlong on offer. With the natural improvement that is expected, she can go close to winning.
SHESAKINDA MAGIC returns from a 20-week break which may have done her the world of good. She gets the services of 4kgs claiming apprentice Malesela Katjedi and if not in need of the run, she should earn a cheque.
Race 4
MADIBA’S CUPPA ran on strongly when finishing second over 2400m at Hollywoodbets Scottsville last time. The blinkers have done the trick. He should have no issues with the drop to 2000m and in this line-up, he can shed his maiden tag.
THE GREEN GALLANT was reported to have cast a shoe-in running on the Polytrack last time. It must be noted that multiple horses from that form line have come out and won since. His penultimate run when finishing second over 1900m on this course was encouraging. If repeating that effort today, he should pose a massive threat.
BLAZING LIGHT has fair recent form lines to his credit. It must be noted that the horse that finished third in his last outing has come out and won since. Sean Veale knows him well and he will be staying on at the finish.
Race 5
BEYONDTHEBOUNDARY ran a fair race when finishing fourth against stronger company over 1400m on this course, five weeks ago. The manner in which he finishes off his races suggests that he will love the rise to 1900m. He does have a wide draw to overcome, but Warren Kennedy takes the ride and he will give him all the necessary assistance from the saddle.
CHEWBACA has good consistent form lines to his credit. He has won twice, finished second once and third three times from as many starts on this course. He always gives of his best and will be staying on at the finish.
MANHATTEN CAFE followed up his maiden win with a good second-place finish over 2000m on the Polytrack. He has plenty of scope and may be at his best on this surface.
Race 6
CASA ROSADA was unlucky in her last start as she had to be eased and switched at the 50m mark. She finished third in her only attempt on this course. She meets a similar type of field this afternoon and with a bit of luck in running, she can notch up her second career victory.
YATA finished 0.65 lengths behind the top choice last time. She is 0.5kgs worse off at the weights today and may have to settle for the same result. DUNYAA took on much stronger company in her last start and she brushed the rail at the 700m mark.
She finished 0.75 lengths behind HER ROYAL MAJESTY in her penultimate effort. She is 1.5kgs better off at the weights today and that should be enough for the tables to be turned.
Race 7
SOCRATES won a game race in his last race over 1200m on this course. He took the lead at the 250m mark and fought hard all the way to the line. He has won twice and finished second twice from six starts over this distance. He is in a good space and can notch up his eighth career victory.
TEMPTING FATE finished 0.6 lengths behind the top choice last time. He is 0.5kgs worse off at the weights today and may have to settle for the same result.
GOOD TRAVELLER has found a form return in his last two starts over 1400m. He has won twice and finished third once from as many starts on this course. The 1000m may be on the sharp side for him, but he will be mowing down the frontrunners.

WINTER SMOKE’S last two starts have been fair. She is the best-weighted runner in this contest and jumps from pole position. If all went well with her travels, she may be too good for this field.

SPRING HIGH is better than his last start on the Polytrack. He won a good race over this distance at Hollywoodbets Scottsville in his penultimate run. He is the stable elect and from his good draw of two, he should pose a threat.
TONIGHTSFIGHTNIGHT finished 2.1 lengths behind AL’S MY DADDY last time. He is 2.5kgs better off at the weights today and that should be enough for the tables to be turned
