Race 1:

CATCH THE TUNE showed very good improvement in his last start over 1000m at Hollywoodbets Scottsville. It must be noted that the horse that finished second that day has come out and won since. The manner in which he finished off his race suggests he will be at home over the 1400m. If suited to the polytrack, he should find himself in the winner's enclosure.

HONOKALANI produced a promising debut effort over 1200m on this course. He had to switch at the 150m mark that day, but stayed on well. The son of Vercingetorix would have gained from the experience and will enjoy the extra furlong on offer. With the natural improvement that is expected, he should go close.

ARNHEM LAND ran a fair race on debut over 1100m at Hollywoodbets Scottsville. It must be noted that the form of that race has been franked. He will enjoy the extra distance on offer and should make the natural progression.

Race 2:

CANDY GALORE should have finished much closer in her last start as she had to be eased at the 800m mark and could not adopt her normal tactics. She has won twice, finished second once and third twice from eight starts over this C&D. She takes on her own sex today and with 4kgs claiming apprentice Gabriel Pieterse in the saddle, she may be the one to beat.

FREEDOM SEEKER ran a good race when finishing second over this distance at the Vaal last time. It must be noted that Mind Reader has come out and won again since. If all went well with her travels, she should pose a threat to the top choice.

HERSTEL is another Gauteng raider. She has decent recent form to her credit. She has won twice and finished second once from four starts over this distance. If not in need of the run, she should give a good account of herself.

Race 3:

PRINCESS THIANA has shown good improvement in each of her outings to date. She set the pace last time, but was outrun in the latter stages. The saddle was reported to have slipped that day which makes the effort that much more encouraging. The daughter of Greys Inn should have no issues with the extra furlong on offer and she may have more to come.

SIMPLY COMPLICATED should have won last time as she hung in the latter stages. The blinkers get fitted this afternoon which should keep her mind on the task at hand. If keeping on a straight line, she should shed her maiden tag.

GOOD GIRL has decent consistent form lines to her credit. She should have finished closer last time as she had to switch at the 200m mark. The daughter of Duke Of Marmalade will be staying on strongly in the run down to the line.

Race 4:

SERGEI has shown good improvement in each of his outings to date. He raced from just off the pace last time and stayed on nicely at the finish. The son of Soft Falling Rain should have no issues with the extra distance on offer and from his good draw of two, he may find himself in the winner's enclosure.

MR PIGALLE has produced three decent efforts for the Peter Muscutt stable. He should have finished closer last time as he was bumped at the 300m mark and shifted away from the crop. With a bit of luck in running, he should throw out a big challenge to the top choice.

RAISEAHALLELUJAH is lightly raced with decent form to his credit. He returns from a 14-week break today which may have done him the world of good. The blinkers get removed this afternoon and if not in need of the run, he should give another good account of himself.

Race 5:

THERAVADA has very good recent form to his credit. He was reported to be cut into and coughing last time which makes the effort that much more encouraging. He has finished second three times and third twice from seven starts on this course. He gets the services of in-form 1.5kgs claiming apprentice Joshwin Solomons and can get back to winning ways.

SOVEREIGN SOLDIER ran a good race when finishing third over 1400m on this course, just a week ago. He takes a slight drop in class today and should the top choice fluff his lines, he may be the one to pick up the pieces.

ROY'S PHYSCO has some fair recent form to his credit. He has won once, finished second twice and third once from seven starts over this C&D. With a bit of luck from his tricky barrier position, he should give a good account of himself.

Race 6:

HERECOMESTHERAIN ran a very good race when taking on much stronger over the minimum trip on this course. He takes a drop in class today and will enjoy the extra furlong on offer. He jumps from pole position and should take a power of beating.

BURNING WINGS won a good race in his last start over this distance at Hollywoodbets Scottsville. He meets a similar type of field today and from his good draw of two, he merits healthy respect.

FLY THE COUP was impressive when winning on debut over this C&D. He took the lead at the 300m mark and despite racing green, he won with a ton in hand. It must be noted that the horse that finished fourth that day has come out and won since. He takes on stronger, but could be anything and may be up to the task at hand.

Race 7:

ICE IMPERIAL has some decent consistent form lines to her credit. She has won once, finished second twice and third once from as many starts over this C&D. She is having her peak run this afternoon and should be cherry-ripe. She gets the services of a 1.5kgs claiming apprentice which should help her cause.

ALFONSE BABY ran a fair race in her last start over this distance at Hollywoodbets Scottsville against slightly stronger. She has finished second in both her efforts over this C&D. She merits healthy respect.

STATE OF MIND ran a good race when finishing second in her last start over this C&D. She was bumped at the 200m mark that day which didn't help her cause. With a bit of luck in running, she should run a big race.

Race 8:

SUPERIOR LEADER has good recent form lines to her credit. He makes his way to KZN and has his first effort on the polytrack. If suited to the surface, he should be hard to peg back in the run down to the line.

GIMME A RAINBOW looked a winner in his last start, but was caught in the shadow of the post. He was reported to have cast a shoe in running which makes the effort that much more encouraging. Lyle Hewitson retains the ride and the combination merit healthy respect.

DON'T TOUCH ME showed good improvement in his last start over this C&D. He set the pace that day, but found one too good in the form of Straight Six. If repeating that effort in this type of field, he should be competitive
