Race 1

THE CHARLESTON has produced two promising efforts to date. She raced from just off the pace in the Non-Black Type Hollywoodbets Summer Coronation Plate last time and rallied to finish under a length behind Rascova. It must be noted that the form of that race has been franked. The daughter of The United States is a progressive type and with Aldo Domeyer in the saddle, she is the horse to beat.

EASY MONEY ran a good race on debut in the Non-Black Type Hollywoodbets Commonwealth Plate. She understandably raced green, but the manner in which she stayed on at the finish was encouraging. It must be noted that the horse that finished third that day has come out and won since. The daughter of Potala Palace would have gained from the experience and should make the natural improvement.

FLYING V is an unraced daughter of Vercingetorix from the Justin Snaith stable with Richard Fourie in the saddle. She is related to three-time winner Intrepid. The betting market will be the best guide with regards to her and the other first timers.

Race 2

SHARAPOVA has produced two good second place finishes to date, the latest of which was over this C&D. She set the pace that day, but was outrun late by Rafeef’s Choice. It must be noted that the horse that finished fourth that day has come out and won since. The daughter of Querari is a temperamental type and if loading, she should take a power of beating in this line-up.

SENHORA VICTORIA’S last two starts have been decent. She stayed on when third over 1200m last time. The daughter of Master Of My Fate is versatile and she may be the one to fill the exacta spot.

ILHA DA MAURICIA may not have seen out the 1800m in her last outing. Her penultimate run when finishing second over 1600m was encouraging. The daughter of Silvano should enjoy the 1400m and if putting her best foot forward, she should have a say in the outcome of this contest.

Race 3

This is a competitive Maiden Plate and caution is advised. The tentative first selection is MASTER JOSH from the Brett Crawford stable. He was unlucky not to have won his last start as he was steadied at the 800m mark. The manner in which he ran on at the business end was encouraging. With a bit of luck in running, he is capable of shedding his maiden tag.

INTIMIDATOR was slow into stride over 1400m last time, but the manner in which he stayed on at the finish was encouraging. The son of The United States will be at home over the mile. He does have a wide draw of 12 to overcome, but gets the services of Richard Fourie who will give him all the necessary assistance from the saddle.

SHOEFELLA finished 1.5 lengths behind the top choice last time. The pair meet on the same weight terms today and he may have to settle for the same result. The son of Jackson is having his peak run and will be cherry-ripe.

Race 4

ROYAL INVITATION followed up her maiden victory with a good third-place finish over this C&D. She raced from a handy position and stayed on at the business end. The daughter of Elusive Fort has plenty of scope and can notch up her second career victory.

LADY SILVANO has fair recent form lines to her credit. She was not disgraced when fourth against stronger company over 2000m last time. She drops back to the mile and takes a drop in class. Should the top choice fluff her lines, she may be the one to pick up the pieces.

ENCHANTED CREEK finished 1.75 lengths behind the top choice last time. She is 1.5kgs better off at the weights today and should finish closer as a result. Her wide draw of 11 is an obvious concern.

Race 5

BEREAVE ran a good race when third in the Grade 2 Cape Merchants last time. The manner in which he stayed on at the finish that day was encouraging. It must be noted that the form of that race has been franked. He has won once, finished second twice and third once from six starts over this C&D. The son of Vercingetorix is in a good space and can return to winning ways.

SAFE RETURN finished 0.55 lengths behind the top choice last time. He is 0.5kgs better off at the weights today and there should not be much separating them in the run down to the line.

IRISH MORNING is better than his last start. He returns from a 10-week break which would have done him the world of good. He has won five times, finished second once and third once from eleven starts over this C&D. It is encouraging that Keagan de Melo steps back into the saddle and the combination cannot be ignored.

Race 6

LION’S HEAD got going too late when second over 1600m on this course last time. It must be noted that the form of that race has been franked. He has won once and finished second once from four starts over this distance. If not too far out of his ground turning for home, he is capable of notching up his third career victory.

SILVER FALCON has good recent form lines to his name. He should have finished closer to the winner last time as he was held up for a run at the 400m mark. With a bit of luck in running, he should throw out a big challenge to the top choice.

PINEAPPLE EXPRESS finished 0.8 lengths behind the second choice last time. He is 0.5kgs better off at the weights today and there should not be much separating them in the run down to the line.

Race 7

AT MY COMMAND stayed on when third in the Grade 1 Hollywoodbets Cape Guineas last time. The manner in which he finishes off his races suggests that he will be at home over the 1800m. The widest draw of 11 should not pose a concern as he is versatile. He is the best-weighted runner in this contest and can notch up his fourth career victory.

ROCKPOOL followed up his maiden win with an ultra-impressive victory over 1600m on this course. The son of Futura looks to have plenty of class about him and he will be at home over this distance. With just 54kgs on his back, he should throw out a big challenge to the top choice.

NARINA TROGON finished 1.65 lengths behind WITHOUT QUESTION last time. He is 2kgs better off at the weights today and that should be enough for the tables to be turned. The son of Silvano will love the extra furlong on offer and should be involved.

Race 8

MUCHO DINERO followed up his maiden win with an equally impressive victory over this C&D. The manner in which he quickened up and won, was eye-catching. The son of Twice Over is a progressive type and can keep his unbeaten record over this distance intact.

COSMIC EVENT finished 0.5 lengths behind CORONATION TIME last time. He is 2.5kgs better off at the weights today and that should be enough for the tables to be turned. He has cracked a handy draw of five and may be hard to peg back.

NOTHINGELSEMATTERS finished 3.5 lengths behind CORONATION TIME in the race referred to above. He is 5.5kgs better off at the weights today and should turn the form around. The son of Elusive Fort won his only attempt over this C&D and cannot be ignored
