Race 1

TOTALLY ROCKS was a tad disappointing when fourth over this distance at Hollywoodbets Greyville, five weeks ago. It must be noted that multiple horses from that form line have come out and won since. She gets the tongue-tie fitted for the first time which may do the trick. The daughter of Canford Cliffs may be at her best on the straight course and she is capable of shedding her maiden tag.

TIME CHASER produced a promising debut effort over this distance at Hollywoodbets Greyville. The manner in which she stayed on at the finish that day was encouraging. It must be noted that Canadian Summer has come out and won a Listed event since. The daughter of Time Thief should make the natural improvement.

LADY HEIST ran a good race on debut over 1000m on the Polytrack. She raced from just off the pace and rallied in the latter stages. She should enjoy the extra furlong on offer and will be competitive.

Race 2

ENSUING stayed on strongly when finishing second over this distance at Hollywoodbets Greyville last time. It must be noted that the form of that race has been franked. The blinkers seem to have done the trick on the son of William Longsword and with S’manga Khumalo in the saddle, he should go one better.

BLACKBERRY MALT produced a promising debut effort over 1400m on the Polytrack. The manner in which he ran on at the finish was eye-catching. The son of Ideal World would have gained from the experience and should love the rise to the mile. With the natural improvement that is expected, he should pose a massive threat.

BOUNDLESS BASH finished 0.2 lengths behind the second choice last time. He is having his second run after gelding and should strip much fitter. He should enjoy the rise to the mile and merits healthy respect.

Race 3

SLEEK AS SILK caught the eye on debut over 1000m on the Polytrack. She was settled at the rear of the field and finished her race off strongly. The daughter of William Longsword will love the rise to 1400m and with the natural improvement that is expected, she should be the horse to beat.

GIRL OF TREGUNTER ran a fair race on debut over 1200m at Hollywoodbets Greyville. She raced from a handy position and stayed on to finish fourth. It must be noted that Canadian Summer has come out and won a Listed race since. The daughter of Willow Magic will be at home over 1400m and should be one of the leading contenders.

FORGED IN ICE should have won her last start as she hung in the latter stages. The blinkers seem to have done the trick and if keeping on a straight line, she may be hard to peg back.

Race 4

This is a competitive Maiden Plate and caution is advised. The tentative first selection is PHANTOMOFTHEFOREST from the Joe Soma yard. He ran a fair race when finishing fourth in a workriders race over 1160m at Turffontein last time. It must be noted that the form of that race has been franked. The son of Gimmethegreenlight will enjoy the rise to 1500m and if jumping on terms, he can shed his maiden tag.

INTREPID ACT produced a good effort when second over 1700m on the Polytrack last time. He was reported to be lame on his left fore leg that day. The son of Act Of War will strip much fitter and with a bit of luck from the widest draw, he should go close to winning.

FORGOTTEN TIME was reported to be changing strides in his last start and is better than that effort suggests. It must be noted that the form of that race has been franked. He is better suited to the turf and on previous form, he should have a say in the outcome of this contest.

Race 5

DUCHESS OF SUSSEX was an easy winner of her last start over this distance at Hollywoodbets Greyville. She quickened up well and drew clear of the opposition. It must be noted that the horse that finished fourth that day has come out and won since. She takes a slight drop in class and from her good draw of four, can follow up.

FATEFUL MISTRESS took on much stronger in her last start over 1400m. She has won once and finished second once from three starts over this C&D. She drops in class and from pole position, she should throw out a big challenge to the top choice.

ALITTLEBITNAUGHTY produced a typical second run after a rest last time. She has won twice and finished third once from as many starts on this course. She should be at peak fitness for this outing and merits obvious inclusion.

Race 6

SENSO UNICO ran a fair race when finishing fifth in the Grade 1 Daily News 2000 last time. The son of Twice Over will be at home over 2400m. He is the best-weighted runner in this contest and on his peak run, he should take a power of beating.

SILVANO’S TIMER won an impressive race in his last start over 1800m on the Polytrack. The manner in which he finishes off his races suggests that he will love the rise to 2400m. He has plenty of ability and merits healthy respect.

SALVATOR MUNDI finished 1.4 lengths behind CHEWBACA last time. He is 1.5kgs better off at the weights today and there should not be much separating the pair in the run down to the line.

Race 7

LIGHT OF THE MOON ran a very good race when finishing second in the Grade 1 Woolavington 2000 last time. She raced from a handy position and stayed on nicely at the finish. The daughter of Futura won her penultimate run over this distance and stays well. She is the best-weighted runner in this contest and can notch up her fourth career victory.

SHE’S A KEEPER was ultra-impressive when winning the Listed KRA East Coast Cup last time. She took the lead at the 200m mark and won with a ton in hand. She won her only attempt on this course. She does have a wide draw of twelve to overcome but gets the services of Warren Kennedy who will give her all the necessary assistance from the saddle.

PINK TOURMALINE ran a good race when finishing third behind Rain In Holland in the Grade 2 Gerald Rosenberg Stakes last time. The daughter of Futura steps back up to the 2400m and if seeing out the extra distance on offer, she should be competitive.

Race 8

TEMPTING FATE finished 0.3 lengths behind COIN SPINNER last time. He is 2.5kgs better off at the weights today and that should be enough for the tables to be turned. He has won three times from four starts on this course. He shows good pace in his races and can return to winning ways.

COIN SPINNER was given a peach of a ride when winning his last start over 1200m at Hollywoodbets Greyville. He has won once and finished second once from as many starts on this course. He is in a good space and merits healthy respect.

SOCRATES has very good consistent form lines to his credit. He stayed on nicely at the finish last time, but found one too good in the form of Isivunguvungu. He has won twice and finished second twice from six starts over this distance. The 7yo gelding should be right there at the finish.

Race 9

BOTZ finished 0.85 lengths behind LETABA last time. He is 1kg better off at the weights this afternoon. He gets the blinkers fitted which will keep his mind on the task at hand. The son of William Longsword is having his peak run today and should be cherry-ripe. He has plenty of scope and is the horse to beat.

LETABA is a winner of his last two starts. Four of his five career victories have come over this distance. 4kgs claiming apprentice Donald Geerthsen retains the ride and he can notch up the hat-trick.

GOOD QUEEN BESS was her own worst enemy last time as she overraced in the early stages. She finished second in her only attempt over this distance. The daughter of Kingman takes a drop in class and should give the males a run for their money.

Race 10

JET CAT raced from just off the pace last time, moved up well but was caught late. He has won once, finished second once and third twice from twelve attempts over this distance. Hennie Greyling takes the ride and if suited to this course, he may find himself in the winner’s enclosure.

TWO OF US has decent consistent form lines to his credit. He won his only attempt over this C&D, three runs ago. He is likely to race on the speed and with Warren Kennedy back in the saddle, he may be hard to peg back.

CABINET SHUFFLE returns from a 28-week break and is having his first run for the Paul Peter stable. He takes a drop in class on his return and if not in need of the run, he is capable of fighting out the finish
