Race 1

TEEREX produced a promising debut effort over 800m on this course. He showed pace, but found one too good in the form of Sovereign Grant. It must be noted that the form of that race has been franked. The son of New Predator would have gained from the experience and should have no issues with the extra furlong on offer. With the natural improvement that is expected, he should be the horse to beat.

PREDATOR’S FEAST has produced two decent efforts to date. She should have finished closer to the winner last time as she was green in running. S’manga Khumalo takes the ride and she should be one of the leading contenders.

ALMOND BUTTER is an unraced son of Duke Of Marmalade from the Mike Miller yard and stable jockey Serino Moodley is booked to ride. He is related to three-time winner Eskimo Kisses. If not too green, he should start his career on a positive note. The betting market will be the best guide with regards to him and the other first timers.

Race 2

SWISS PARADISE ran a fair race against male company over 1000m on this course last time. It must be noted that the form of that race has been franked. She does not meet a strong field and if seeing out the extra distance on offer, she may find herself in the winner’s enclosure.

BRIGHT STAR produced a decent comeback run over 1400m at Hollywoodbets Greyville. She raced from a handy position and stayed on at the finish. It must be noted that Edvige has come out and won again since. The daughter of Gold Standard will strip a much fitter horse today and must be included in all bets.

CAN’T CATCH ME finished 1.8 lengths behind the second choice last time. The pair meet on the same weight terms today and she may have to settle for the same result.

Race 3

SUPER FAST made the natural improvement when finishing second in his last start over 1200m at Hollywoodbets Greyville. The manner in which he stayed on at the finish that day suggests that he will enjoy the extra furlong on offer. The son of Querari would have strengthened up during his time off the track and if not in need of this run, he should go one better.

CORSICAN has decent form lines to his credit. It must be noted that Paris Pike has come out and won again since. He jumps from pole position and if fit, he should throw out a big challenge to the top choice.

SPACE COWBOY has produced two good runs since returning from a 20-week break. He finished 0.7 lengths behind the top choice in his penultimate effort. The pair meet on the same weight terms today and there should not be much separating them in the run down to the line.

Race 4

MYTHICAL TUNE set the pace over 1800m at Hollywoodbets Greyville last time and stayed on to finish second. She is likely to adopt the same tactics in this line-up and may be hard to peg back in the run down to the line.

COLUMBIA ROAD finished 1.5 lengths behind the top choice last time. The pair meet on the same weight terms today and she may have to settle for the same result. She is having her peak run and will be cherry-ripe.

TRIP TO NEBRASKA has shown improvement in her last two starts after returning from a 15-week break. The daughter of Trippi should be at home over the 1750m. She is having her peak run today and with S’manga Khumalo in the saddle, she should be involved in the fight to the finish.

Race 5

QUEUE WING ran a fair race against stronger company in his last start over 1600m at Hollywoodbets Greyville. He won a good race in his penultimate effort over 2200m. The 5yo gelding finished third in his only attempt on this course. He takes a drop in class and from his good draw of two, he can notch up his sixth career victory.

ARTIC TUNE produced a decent effort when second over 1900m on the Polytrack last time. It must be noted that the form of that race has been franked. Should the top choice fluff his lines, he may be the one to pick up the pieces.

BANZAI PIPELINE is the stable companion of the top choice. His last two starts have been good. He has won twice and finished third once from seven starts on this course. He is likely to be switched off near the rear of the field from his wide draw of 10 and will be mowing down the frontrunners.

Race 6

PEARL OF ASIA finished 1.85 lengths behind WINTER FLIGHT last time. He is 3kgs better off at the weights today and that should be enough for the tables to be turned. He is a three-time winner over this C&D and with S’manga Khumalo retaining the ride, he is capable of returning to winning ways.

ISHNANA was an easy winner of his last start over 1100m on this course. He took the lead at the 300m mark and won with a ton in hand. 2.5kgs claiming apprentice Siphesihle Hlengwa retains the ride and the pair merit healthy respect.

WINTER FLIGHT was not disgraced when finishing fifth in the Grade 3 Merchants last time. It must be noted that multiple horses from that form line have come out and won since. He shows good speed in his races and may be hard to peg back.

Race 7

RULERSHIP won a good race in his last start over this distance on the polytrack. He lost a length at the start, took a keen hold in the early stages and hung in the straight. However, the manner in which he quickened up and drew clear of the opposition was eye-catching. The son of William Longsword has ability and if jumping on terms, he can follow up.

HOOVES OF TROY finished 1.5 lengths behind the top choice last time. He is 2kgs better off at the weights today and that should be enough for the tables to be turned. However, RULERSHIP won easier than the official margin suggests and he may still have the upper hand.

GET IN THE Q followed up her maiden victory with an equally impressive win over this C&D. It must be noted that multiple horses from that form line have come out and won since. The daughter of Querari can notch up the hat-trick.

Race 8

JUSTFORTHEEPENNY ran a fair race in his last start over this distance at Hollywoodbets Greyville. He was reported to be not striding out that day. The 6yo gelding takes a drop in class and will be cherry-ripe. S’manga Khumalo takes the ride and he may be able to get the best out of him where it matters most.

MR MOLONY won a good race in his last start over 1600m on the Polytrack. It must be noted that the form of that race has been franked. Athandiwe Mgudlwa retains the ride and the pair merit healthy respect.

IMPERIAL ORDER was ultra-impressive when winning his maiden at the third time of asking. He returns from a 13-week break, during which time he was gelded. He does take on stronger company, but is lightly raced and has plenty of scope
